how do you determine what tower is servicing LTE from the field tech mode on a iphone?

 

Dial *3001#12345#* in the Phone app and press call. Under Serving Cell Info the important things are Physical Cell ID and Cell Identity. Each sector of a site has a separate ID, but from what I can tell, the first 6 digits of the Cell Identity are a tower identifier.

 

You have to do your own detective work to relate a tower identifier to an actually site though.

Looks like a new tower is up in the town n country Carrolwood area. I was picking up a weak signal at Busch and Armenia.

wish I could up load the pic but the pic is to big to upload but I had good LTE signal in that area.

Yeah average speeds are around 6 on railroad right what sprint rated wish I knew now about down tilt n how it affects coverage and speed

Yes, I drove by it yesterday. You can see the dark purple on the Sensorly map there as well.

It looks like he last one by my house is completed speeds have not been the best but they have been way better than 3g well the old 3g lol. At work I'm getting some amazing speeds though witch is great because I have WiFi at home.

Feech... I mapped from Wesley Chapel in N Tampa, all the way to Ft Desoto Park this evening. I was able to stay on 4G for most the way there. Also, I got connected and mapped 4G at the very SW tip of the Ft Desoto Island, including the fishing pier...

Well I know there are a couple of sites near the stadium. When we get mapping it will be more apparent. Have to work at 0400 at the airport in the morning, hoping to see some LTE at the airport soon. Will map on my way in.

Ahh it's right over Ray J.... Would've been excellent for the Outback Bowl a couple of weeks ago lol.

No LTE at the airport site at least right now. Only weak signal being received on drive around the terminal this morning.

I'm tempted to say the Starkey site is up..I drove by today. Usually I lose the 4G signal from another active site when I am slightly north of it. Today I held the signal quite a bit further along with some spotty hits on Brian Dairy.

If you were running Sensorly it doesn't appear to be so, but might be worth a revisit to run Sensorly.

Hey if any of you Tampa guys are in the Gandy area there are panels on the tower at the Bayshore and Gandy also up the street some off of Lois it looked like there was panels on that site too but I was in the Walmart Parking lot so it was hard to see. If you spend any time in that area it may be worth checking out.

New to the site. Been reading for a short while. Is it possible the LTE at RayJay and Dale Mabry is coming from A Small Tower Located at hillsborough ave and hesperides. Its Located just to the West Side of the Uhaul Building....Got some sick Speedtest reading near that tower.....

I managed to get 800kb/s at ray jay tonight after work. I personally cant wait to have the rest of the sites rolled out. It was an amazing feeling getting a 4G connection for the first time haha.

Got awesome speeds on BB Downs today. Certainly not disappointed with a 5x5 channel. This will do just fine until LTE-A 2.5ghz is commonplace.
