Network Vision/LTE - Columbus Market

If you look at the towers in progress map, they're obviously working very hard at towers in Columbus. Tons are in progress. I think we'll start to see accepted sites in a couple weeks.

 

I'm in Nashville for a few days and it's nice to take part in a market that's in the midst of a rollout. Got 25 megs down yesterday and 11 up. Mostly it's been about 15 down and about 5 up. LTE isn't everywhere but it's upwards of 50% where I've been, and 3G is pretty fast where it isn't.

 

Well that sounds good. I didn't have any service at all at about 2pm today until almost 3. I was sitting about 200ft from a tower. Didn't see anyone there though

Haha I tried to delete a post but couldn't figure it out. Good news tho, the next 90 should be pretty eventful for our 400ish towers in the Columbus market. Lots of new NV augments, 1900 MHz 3g, and 1900/800 MHz 4g.

I do have a source and it was the reason i tried to delete and instead edited down my last post. Its not really supposed to be shared. We'll be at about a quarter of the way done with the 3g stuff in the market in the next 90, and about the same for LTE. I was most suprised to see 800mhz 4g on the list but i have a feeling that cannot be turned on until 2014 anyhow.

We'll be at about a quarter of the way done with the 3g stuff in the market in the next 90, and about the same for LTE. I was most suprised to see 800mhz 4g on the list but i have a feeling that cannot be turned on until 2014 anyhow.

Not sure about any additional towers but i'll check on Nextel Conversions. Most are slated for shutdown in June but there are several that report back as not being evaluated for thinning. Not clear on what that means but maybe possible conversions, thats speculating tho.

Sounds pretty cool. Is my prediction of first accepted sites within two weeks about right?

Accepted as in work at site completed and Sprint inspects and approves the site as ready to go live. I'm not necessarily meaning that the site will be sending out LTE signal. Sounds like 3G upgrades will be first.

Washington Ch, that whole 71 s corridor, Asheville, london, plain city, jonhstown, granvillle, Huber ridge, new Albany, reynoldsburg....all will have spots of 4g lte work done in the next 90. If its turned on remains to be seen. Looks as tho most the outskirts of Columbus. similar looking map for NV 3g as well.

Mount Vernon , bellefontaine, and Marion will be getting lots of love too it appears.

They put in fiber last week at a tower in my neighborhood in Reynoldsburg. Need to walk out there now and see if they've dropped off new cabinets yet. Sounds like they're starting outside and working their way in like they did in other markets.

I'd love to do that, but I'm on iPhone and Sensorly doesn't have tracking on there due to some screwy Apple thing. But I'll be watching eagerly. Heck, I check every day to see if any purple has started to pop up on there.

That makes sense too, I think some of the first permits were pulled down there.
