Galaxy Nexus $100 now from Sprint

With new agreement or renewal of course. This is tempting. They offer $58 for my Nexus S 4G, and $50 Google wallet credit, they're essentially paying me $8 to get the Galaxy Nexus.

Is it worth it to lose my wimax and not have LTE until April? Does this mean that they're clearing inventory for a new Nexus?

Nexus One released 5 January 2010

Nexus S released 16 December 2010

Galaxy Nexus released 17 November 2011

Yes, about one per year (or 11 months).

The nexus 7 was just released. Let's do this...Let's just say we agree to disagree. Sent from my EVO 4G LTE

Nexus 7 was a whole different ball of wax. There were supposed to be 5 Nexus devices out this year. I guess we agree to disagree... :)

I have taken guesses at the 5 devices in other forums but I think the 5 devices of 2012 will be:

Nexus 7

Nexus Q

Nexus phone

Nexus 10 (or whatever they call the 10 inch tablet)

The last one is up in the air. It could be anything from a Nexus version of the iPod, game console, portable gaming device, netbook or laptop, phablet like the note (my favorite speculation) or something completely out of left field.

I'm really more concerned with when the Sprint version of the next Nexus phone would be released. The last two Sprint versions were 4 months or so after anyone else got it.

The Galaxy Nexus on Sprint just came out in late April, only 3 months ago, and now it's pretty much free, not a bad deal. Yeah, it's been out for Verizon since last year, but I don't really care about Verizon phones.

Yeah, I hope Google continues to move towards opening their Nexus devices to everyone right off the bat. CDMA makes it more difficult when nearly the rest of the world is on GSM. Then the attitude that VZW and Sprint has about BYOD...

It is a good sign that Sprint has gotten both the Nexus S and GNex, but they were both tardy.

I wouldn't get the GNexus, it has too many bugs and a poor signal performance. I have two of them, awful phones.

I would consider the EVO, I have yet try that phone though.

Too late, picked one up today. Couldn't resist the $100 price plus $50 Google wallet credit. This phone was $300 6 months ago. So far so good. I can't do manufacturer skins anymore, so my only options were either keep the NS4G, wait for the next nexus, or free GNEX with NS4G trade.

If the next nexus is unbelievable, I'll just use the mother in law's upgrade. :)

Let us know if you bump into the same 'no data bug'.

This shows up when you go somewhere with no signal, then go somewhere with a signal. The data doesn't turn back on.

I still have a lot of the $50 google wallet left, I have used it in Jack in the Box and McDonalds, sometimes doesn't work.

I have the "no data bug" in the elevator at work, had it on all my phones. Data comes back when I get out , and it's on the 29th floor.

On the GNex, I was able to get over the no data bug by cycling Mobile Data on and off. I have a similar bug on the GS3 where I lose mobile data if I go out of range on WiFi. Its almost like the device still thinks I am connected to WiFi and will not let me connect to 3G. This is annoying because cycling will not fix the problem. I have to turn WiFi back on, turn off again and reboot. Now I'm in the habit of just turning off my WiFi all the time.

That is a shame its on the GS3 too, I was hoping that it wasn't.

On the GNex today, wifi disabled, came out of a building, got a signal, no data. Went into Starbucks, connected to Wifi, disconnected Wifi, then 3G data came back.

Is it a bug on the EVO too?

I've never seen that happen on my EVO LTE. Or Viper.

Yes it is. If I'm on a wifi network or on voice roaming, mobile data shuts off and will not turn back on until I am off of wifi, have a data signal and try to access mobile data. Sometimes I have to manually turn it on.

EDIT: I think there is a time limit on it and is a battery saving measure.

Well, that was fun while it lasted. Data went out this morning and didn't come back. Took it back to Sprint, they could not fix it. Exchanged for a shiny, touchwizy, new GS3. Hope this works.

So you caved?

The Moto implementation of ICS looks to be pretty close to stock. Here's hoping they come out with a killer JB device, one of these days...
