EVO 4GLTE Antenna

I have had no issues with reception. In fact, my house is a low signal area, usually -100 dbm that bounces off of three towers(drives me crazy). My OG EVO and EVO 3d would have choppy reception and drop from time to time. No such issues so far with the EVO LTE.

Yeah I also live in an area where my Sprint coverage stays in the -100's too but bounces off 4 towers nearby! I complained and they sent me a 3G Airave which works OK. The Airave for a while had major issues with texts being sent as many as 20+ times and call drops and just dead air even though I connected and the phone beeped.

Rickie546 I seemed to have found the fix for the Airave issues, check your other post.

I still love my new EVO LTE though as my Wifi speeds I get 30+MB/sec down and 8MB/sec up, which is what I get on my desktop! My OG EVO could only do 18-20MB/sec down and 6MB/sec up. Also my internet speed over 3G is much faster as I even got 2MB/sec down the other day and the overall speed of the phone is amazing coming from an OG EVO!

I have a couple of picks with the balance of the phone which feels a little top heavy and Google Maps is having issues with Latitude contact images, GUI element errors, and Latitude loading. Also checking my battery my phone seems to be going active every 15 mins for some reason even though I turn most syncing off and my email is set to check 1 an hour? Any ideas?

Thanks,

5th

My 1st post. I am enjoying this forum. If I can help with signal info in my area' date=' let me know. I live just outside Snow Hill, NC.

Thanks, I am still learning a lot on this site. I have installed NetMonitor & OpenSignal. Still trying to learn them. I was wandering about "OG EVO"? I am assuming the orginal EVO which I had from the day it was introduced.

OG Evo refers to the Evo 4G that was released in 2010...June 4th if I remember correctly.

It stands for "Oh, gee, an EVO. What, you think you're special?"

This is the time when a "Not Like This" button would be quite useful... That video gets a big :td:

What is wrong with the video? Those bros and hos are just about a complete cross section of all Sprint subs, right? Or is that just what VZW and AT&T subs think of all Sprint subs?

;)

    • Your referring to the $25.00 a month Infinite Unlimited plan?  I don't see any other plans on there even cheaper than that on their website.  I was looking at the Motorola 2023 Edge fwiw as well for $10.00 a month.
    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
