  1. I'm betting there are quite a few users stuck on 3G due to the buildings they're in in the area. Obviously I have no clue about your surrounding buildings, but that would make most sense to me.
  2. Is your phone being dropped to 3G when it can't receive LTE or are you forcing it to 3G where you receive LTE? The reason I'm asking is, if your phone is dropping to 3G when the LTE signal drops, the quality of your 3G signal is deteriorating as well, which may be the reason you're seeing poor 3G performance. The other possibility is similar to was jamisonshaw125 is talking about, if your signal is dropping to 3G in a populated area, others are probably dropping to 3G as well, which is crowding the 3G network. There could also be other unknowns.
  3. You may want to review what PRLs are and how they work. That would immediately answer your question.
  4. My thought was, when it's on "telephone poles" it's more subject to an idiot drunk driver taking out the back-haul. Edit: I actually already brought this up in the thread. Go figure.
  5. Find a weekend when you and the family want to come to Columbus. I'm betting you'll have quite a few peeps that wouldn't mind taking you to dinner. You should start a S4GRU tour. Just start showing up in markets.
  6. Best place in Columbus right now: http://www.yelp.com/biz/hot-chicken-takeover-columbus
  7. S4GRU Columbus Meetup This Friday, 8/15/2014 evening. More details coming soon.
  8. I get what you're saying, but even taking such plans, I don't see it working out as imagined. The traffic we're seeing with what already have in place is taking huge hits. Even moving those people over to B41 will impede on the network when you have certain users that are going to sit there and hammer the network using it as their provider.
  9. Let me be the first to say, Welcome to S4GRU. We do offer maps that show where sites are in your area as well as other maps that show the progress of Sprint Network Vision upgrades in your area. Those maps are available to sponsors of S4GRU. Browse around a little bit, check out the Sacramento Market thread and if you'd like more information and feel inclined to, make a donation and those additional maps and details will become available to you. Again, to S4GRU.
  10. I think they have the money to fund the upgrade and want the money they'll get from it. So, only time will tell. You have 16 months to find out.
  11. I did read your post buddy. Even with a minimal distribution, having a constant connection to the network by some former Clearwire users would kill the network and it couldn't handle it, even with all that Sprint is releasing. Traffic shaping and QOS adjustments aren't going to change that. If they did use that, it would have to be so heavily done that it wouldn't be worth having the service anyway.
  12. I thought AT&T serviced DSL in that area. Also, by the time that WiMax is decommissioned, TWC/WOW/AT&T may just get around to getting something down there, because it's not too far from their services.
  13. Everyone here doesn't keep their profile up-to-date, so I don't go off the devices they have listed. The reason why "Cellular tablet sales are going up with the quickness" is because companies such as Sprint are giving away budget tablets at budget prices. This does not show there is a large trend in people using said data on their tablet over Wi-Fi use. Tablet customer's average 1GB of data per month. Expanding their tablet selection is not giving them an advantage over another carrier. It's a waste of inventory space to have tablets that don't sell just sitting around. They have the most popular tablets, that support their network, for sale. Do you know the inventory history for Sprint tablets? They've had the mass selection and that idea failed. They've recently only kept what sells, not to have a portfolio to say they have one. Believe it or not, they're actually listening to their customers by how said customers use their wallet. I don't take your comments as trolling, I take them for what they are, a recent pattern of anti-Sprint comments that are increasing on the daily. Being an "S4GRU veteran" and/or Premier sponsor means nothing about who you are today and doesn't "protect" you as a member here. There are veteran S4GRU Premier sponsors that came here without a facade, showing they're from another provider and they don't post as much anti-Sprint comments as you have recently.
  14. I think it's about time you take a self imposed vacation from S4GRU. Come back in a week or two because at this point you're looking for just about anything to complain about. You're literally complaining about tablet selection at this point. It's already shown that most people only use tablets on Wi-Fi and Sprint carries two of the most popular by sales, the iPads and Tab 3. The only tablet worth having that Sprint doesn't carry is a Note series tablet. Which they've carried in the past with poor sales. No one is buying an Xperia or Nokia tablet. To add to this, as much as you complain about Sprint service and love the other 3 providers you carry I highly doubt if you were buying a tablet that Sprint would be your first choice. So which tablet did you decide you're picking up through one of them?
  15. 79 of 404 sites to go until 100% LTE 1900 complete. 25 - 3G sites to go 40 - 3G GMO sites to go (if being upgraded) 14 - 3G/1x800 sites to go
  16. New LTE Chillicothe x 3See more information in the Columbus Spreadsheet & Map thread for sponsors.
  17. Moved topic to appropriate thread so it can be answered.
  18. You know how little kids drive their parents crazy in the car by asking repetitively "Are we there yet" when all they have to do is look out the window for an update? You're figuratively doing the same thing here. We like to assist our members here on finding that information and educating them on how to obtain that information. We'd like for you to help us, help you. Queue AJ with the Jerry Maguire YouTube clip.
  19. Sprint's Golden Goose is the 2.5 spectrum on Band 41. It holds the most capacity for Sprint as it is where Sprint has the most spectrum. So you're not going to see an expansion much in Band 26 LTE. You may see where more is dedicated to Band 25 when Voice Over LTE becomes the standards. It will be quite some time before that happens though. Side-note: Help us out a little... No need to create a new topic every time you have a question. Your last three topics could have been answered in one, as well as, the search feature would have answered all of these for you.
  20. How many times are you going to ask this question? Asking it 7 different ways, it's still the same question. If you'd like more information about what's going on in your market than what you can receive in this thread, you'll need to research the Sponsor threads. If you're not satisfied with that answer, you can reach out to Sprint directly as we're not Sprint. Your repetitive question without your own actions to learn more yourself is not productive to this community and may be better displayed elsewhere.
  21. Your topic has been merged with the East Shore Market thread as it's more appropriate to ask that question here. Also, please don't make your posts into complaining rants as they add no benefit and are against posting guidelines. Not saying your post is, just mentioning the rules. To answer your question. Your market is 3G Complete including 1x800 service. It appears back-haul is the issue. If you're seeing fiber being installed, it may have been for another carrier. Someone else in your market may be able to answer that for you. If you're seeing microwave antennas being installed, they may be sending or receiving that back-haul from a nearby site. Best thing to do is keep an eye on work being done.
