  1. Sprint buying ALL the 25x25? I don't think so. That'd be much moola. Especially given the timing of the future auction and NV. There's enough for everyone to get extra 5x5 with one leftover.
  2. Maybe TMO? Maybe? No low band spectrum is the ONLY reason why TMO sucks. And sprint will get at least 5x5 if for no other reason than to move to volte.
  3. I want there to be four viable national carriers. That's the formula that works for consumers. Look at Canada vs UK and France.
  4. Same reason why it eliminated contacts, separated price of phone from service, etc Cause it has to do something to try and stop the bleeding. Duh.
  5. What if Tmobile were to do rollover data? It'd be nice if you could transfer your accumulated data to someone else. And TMO could charge a 15% data tax on the transfer so itd be gaining something on tge transfer ie less network load. A nice secondary market would develop. And it'd be interested to see what people would be really willing to pay for data. eBay would make some money, maybe even link up directly to TMO account system.
  6. Then why not microwave more of the network? Save a bunch $$, right?
  7. Disappointing. I was led to believe all Sprint's 38k sites were fiber to the tower.
  8. How is Sprint going to compute the "average" speeds that it's gonna quote for TD-LTE advertising? We start at the peak 40 MHz TD-LTE 3:2 configuration speed per sector - 90mbps - and . . . how does it compute the average speed? http://www.lte-tdd.org/second/index.aspx?nodeid=88&page=ContentPage&contentid=781
  9. I'm guessing no because Sprint already has press releases stating that the first tribands will arrive late 4Q this year and Moto X is coming out September.
  10. LOL. You have GOT to bold the "note" at the bottom. You don't NEED more than 1mpbs to do something as long as you're willing to wait a couple hundred milliseconds. I watch Netflix on Verizon iPhone 4. Even IF HSPA+21 drops all the way down to 1mbps on TMO cause it removes some carriers, that 1mbps is gonna be extremely consistent.
  11. TMO has no +42 on PCS. Even if they remove a PCS +21 carrier in ONE year, it wouldn't affect them. Speeds would be lower but the super tech geeks would all be on LTE by then. The remaining TMO users would be happy with 1mbps on h+21 avg speeds.
  12. Not including at least PCS HSPA+ was the second stupidest thing TMO has done, with the first being not bidding for any 700 MHz. I would love to know how many AWS-only phones are left on TMO AND at what rate they're dropping off. Does anyone know the most recent AWS-only phone released by TMO?
  13. Tmobile has enough AWS. They need to save their money for 600 MHz. 20 MHz worth.
  14. I wouldn't take edge-only for $0/month, let alone something greater than that.
  15. If Tmobile gets rid of GSM, they'll have 5x5 for LTE. As more people get LTE phones, it can replace pcs HSPA with LTE. There's your synergy.
  16. Yes, megaBits, not megaBytes. 25 megabytes/sec * 8 = 200 megabits per sec.
  17. Yes, I remember reading that. Why don't they do it? They don't have to get FCC permission like in Europia.
  18. USB 2.0 hits 25 megabytes per second. I worked with getting raw pixel data off of camera sensors - automotive - and that's the max I ever saw sustained.
  19. If Softy wanted to eventually buy TMO, a smart way to go about it is to do a network sharing deal first. All the Sprint phones that have HSPA+, offload off of EVDO and onto HSPA+. And get TMO to ditch the 10 MHz it's using for GSM and replace it with LTE; all Sprint phones will instantly have faster LTE (capacity).
  20. Are you in favor of just one gov telco building out wireless and wired according to need (with some politics and "towers to nowhere" mixed in)? Cause that's what it'd take to get you your wireless utopia. If the gov never let anyone be bought out by anyone ever, do you think there'd be as much capital flowing in as there currently is?
