  1. Regarding TMO as a mvno host, I'm surprised that some vendor hasn't come up with a SIM card that allows an mvno to dynamically switch operators. That way, straight talk would switch only to ATT where TMO doesn't have WCDMA. But looks like ATT doesn't want ST anymore. http://www.talkandroid.com/149593-straight-talk-no-longer-offering-att-compatible-sims/
  2. If you're completely within the TMO network, it is the greatest thing ever. I did state that it only worked on TMO network. Yeah, I'm sure cust service is horrible. It's not Verizon lol.
  3. Does anyone else even know about GoSmart mobile? I haven't seen any advertisements for it and the only way I discovered it is through fiercewireless. It's a Tmobile brand that only offers data AND voice on TMO native network. If you only need voice and text, at $30 the only better deal is metro's promo $25 so they can clear out their CDMA phones. $35 - adds unlimited 2g data $45 - 5 GB @900 Kbps then 2g
  4. I can't wait in 1.5 yrs when Sprint has 2.5 ghz on every site PLUS small cells. Even if it doesn't reach everywhere in buildings, there'll be enough pcs and 800 LTE to take care of any coverage issues.
  5. This is at least the second time you've identified people as TMO trolls. Do you have your own personal Stasi? Lol
  6. No articles indicating this, only speculation that they should/might/could. The fact that they're trying to acquire Lightsquared (from bankruptcy) makes it harder for me to believe that Dish's ultimate goal is to sell all its spectrum to ATT et al and merge with Directv.
  7. (Plug your ears sensitive ones). When I was in the TMO store, I saw ghetto people and white trash as indicated by their clothes and manner of talking. That's what we're talking about. And that's what Legere is talking about. More hip is code for ghetto ie poorer. More specifically, there is a correlation if not a causality between how one acts and one's income. You're not gonna see an engineer with his pants 1/4 falling off with tattoos. Legere knows his only chance is the low end so he adjusts his advertising to attract said demographic. "THAT'S SO ELITIST AND RACIST!" I told you to plug your ears if they're sensitive to the truth.
  8. TMO cannot retreat to urbania and hope to survive; sprint's nationwide 2.5 GHz made that strategy futile. No matter how low TMO is able to price its plans, sprint will be able to squeeze it on price and/or gigabytes cause of the CAPACITY of 2.5 ghz. Even if DT's plan is to hope for a republican FCC in 2017 so it can sell to sprint, if it tries to go 3.5 years without upgrading 15k rural towers, Sprint will DECIMATE it and the resale value will be ~0. To get an idea of the cost of roaming to TMO, go to gosmartmobile.com It's a TMO brand that ONLY works on its own network. Unl talk, text, 5 GB data @900 Kbps Is $45. I put my mom on the $30 unl talk, text
  9. He specifically stated its "largely" true not "always" true. Not saying this is you but many people today don't like hearing demonstrably true facts that are politically incorrect. 6 months ago, I remember reading that Legere said that he wants to change TMO stores so that they're more hip. Translation: he knows his best chance is with those I like to call the "subprime clientele". I don't blame Legere for thinking this way. It's the only avenue to TMO not going bankrupt what with DT (probably) blocking the investment needed to upgrade 15k rural towers. I visited a TMO store recently and wow: TMO is definitely attracting its target market lol.
  10. 1) I was addressing the "stupid consumers should educate themselves on Sprint's network"-argument. That's it. 2) Your analogy is totally not analogous with my analogy nor with the cell carrier situation. Your lemon-car introduces another party: the mechanic with whom the consumer must interact. Is there a "cellular mechanic" with whom i must interact to fix my cell service? 3) Sprint is providing a SERVICE not a manufactured good. Is someone complaining about "Sprint phones" or rather "sprint service"? If you want to continue this conversation, quote me in a new thread.
  11. Wiki says there's a 200 km Max radius. The MDSA two-way system competes against satellite internet access; the shorter round trip distance of only a few hundred kilometers reduces the latency compared with a geostationary satellite's 44,000 mile 250ms latency. The MDSA system has the disadvantage of requiring infrastructure closer to the user - a satellite can cover a significant proportion of the country, instead of the maximum 200 km radius of an MDSA base station. However since the MDSA signal can be sectorized, MDSA's bandwidth, unlike that of satellite, can be multiplied in most geographical areas. For video distribution, this means that local channels and local advertising can be injected into the signal, unlike with DBS satellite systems. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MDS_America
  12. Let's be honest: the only reason why everyone here is saying this is because Sprint's network (currently) sucks, right? If a car has a design flaw, should consumers be expected to educate themselves on the intricacies of engine design? The product should be a black box: it has inputs and it is expected to give certain outputs for which the consumer pays. Sprint's network currently doesn't provide those outputs so . . . why should consumers have to educate themselves? How about the network just does what it should?
  13. Hopefully dish does something cause it owns ALL - I think - MVDDS. This seems to be a perfect fit for its home broadband ambitions. Sure it's not the same as 2.5 ghz but way better than nothing.
  14. Why do you think they shut down OMGFAST? It was offering 50mbps for $30/month. Is it a viable competitor to Comcast?
  15. Two days ago, I saw a f150 pulling a trailer with boxes labeled "samsung telecommunications". Made my day. I-275 N and 696.
  16. Mr. Son Not many people could take a Vodafone KK and turn it into a SoftBank mobile.
  17. Is it only possible to do what you did if you know someone working for a Verizon retailer?
  18. That guy is 1/1000000. I looked at every single slide of Softy's 2q presentation and they are KILLING it. My favorite slide is arpu over time
  19. Will Sprint gain meaningful subscribers before TDD and 800 are widely deployed?
