  1. What personalized experience? You pay your bill, you get your gigs and mins and coverage.
  2. ATT's 300 million LTE coverage by 2015 isn't complete enough? It's not like ATT is gonna buy them out and then reduce coverage. That's already illegal, right?
  3. Synergies between which two networks? Softbank in Japan and Sprint in America? I think it simply means they're not gonna behave like dicks but more like google, the "cool" company.
  4. I guess Sprint is keeping CDMA for 5 more years at least. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/himex-selects-sprint-network-enable-130000988.html HIMEX today announced that it has signed a five-year agreement with Sprint (NYSE:S) as the preferred CDMA carrier to wirelessly enable and support HIMEX Usage-Based Insurance (UBI) and telematics solutions.
  5. I thought Sprint's current fiber specs are 100mbps scalable to higher?
  6. Cause of no fiber. Clearwire was kinda working but site density wasn't high enough. Sprint is simply catching up on its capex, not going above and beyond.
  7. Consumers care about capacity not redundancy. Only engineers care about redundancy.
  8. For western markets, will GSM stop being included in phones? How much would that save in BOM and how much would that save on retail price? Will TMO ever kill GSM?
  9. Does it even matter if ATT buys these Tier 3 carriers? If the FCC lets Leap transaction through with minimal PCS divestments, these wont be a blip.
  10. Good point. My iphone 4 can only get 25mbps from my home connection but my laptop gets 35mbps. Wired its 50mbps.
  11. What would be the maximum speeds for these tests: 100 Mbps cause of the backhaul?
  12. What would be the maximus speeds for these tests: 100 Mbps cause of the backhaul?
  13. I'm unclear. What will sprint do if it only needs one pcs 1x? Fill rest with 1x or a 3x3 LTE?
  14. Why wouldn't Sprint just tell ublox to make CDMA band 10 (SMR) devices? Why load up PCS with M2M that could exist in the capacity available at SMR? Sigh. I just realized why: IBEZ. But so what? Ublox already makes band 0/1 devices so why not just add band 10? Everywhere BUT the IBEZ, M2M can be on SMR. 15. If there's only one CDMA channel in PCS, is Sprint really gonna have a 3x3 LTE to fill the rest or will they fill in the 5 MHz with CDMA?
  16. They're planning one 1x in 800 and rest LTE with more 1x in PCS. Go down to 3x3 800 LTE so you can eliminate CDMA in PCS.
  17. So that it can completely eliminate CDMA on PCS and refarm to LTE since 800 has less capacity than pcs.
  18. Clearwire showed that if you don't have enough basestations/area, 2.5 sucks. 2.5 is DEFINITELY a core asset. SoftBank would not have purchased Sprint without it.
  19. Sprint will not be comparable to VZW and ATT's coverage with 800. They have to build more towers to do that.
  20. That's the spirit! Screw everyone who purchased WiMAX phones. I wonder how you'd feel if Sprint "just shut off" YOUR 4G service.
  21. Right. Cause only Sprint has 7-figure consultants who plot how to trick the other guys.
  22. No, it's not interested in that spectrum. 600/800/1900/2500 will be enough for the foreseeable future. Roaming? Sprint is gonna buy some spectrum, new bands in its handsets, replace the panels AGAIN just so the 1% or whatever of its subs who roam internationally can have LTE on AWS? HSPA+ is plenty fast enough for roaming with only 4 bands longterm, much easier to support. Iphone already includes it even on CDMA versions and if sprint wants all its smartphones to have roaming, it'll mandate HSPA+. Get into the AWS game? Why do people think Sprint NEEDS to have a band just because "everyone else has it"?
