  1. You just barely beat me to this (I didn't know Gastonia HAD an airport, lol) AND to the same thought, move NORTH! I'd settle for the whole Kannapolis / Concord / University area of CLT though.
  2. Awesome news guys! The quicker they get 4G done down there, the quicker they'll start moving up my way. Make sure to run the Map Trip feature, so we make sure it picks up every possible point. I've noticed the phone runs a little hotter when doing that than in passive or even just leaving the app up in active, so I can only assume (could be wrong) that it's mapping the most points that way.
  3. Did you have Sensorly running in passive mode or were you mapping a trip? I've wondered about some of the routes I've taken in passive mode that don't seem to have been completely updated...
  4. This was inside the Towson, MD Marriott. Nice to see 4G for the first time.
  5. Are we seriously arguing over what to call the Raleigh/Durham area? Lame... They're right above man, you're screwed in Burlington. Winston-Salem's market has gotten no love so far and probably won't for quite some time.
  6. That's what she said! How close is that to your house, as far as testing purposes?
  7. The thing is, if you're not tech-savvy, why would you give a crap about what kind of 4G connection you have? Those folks would have to first have the desire to even learn the difference between 3G and 4G. Most probably wouldn't even know to go and turn an EVO 4G LTE to CDMA only until LTE's deployed - my wife sure wouldn't, lol. Once WIMax is dead, LTE will be it for 4G...albeit, there may be different revisions - but again, who will care? Tech-savvy or not, are you going to sit there and stare at your beautiful 4G LTE icon in the taskbar or are you going to get crackin' and use the snot out of your unlimited data? Honestly, I'm cool with either one...
  8. I've only ever seen "4G" from the pictures posted when someone's on one of the Athens towers. Honestly, I know I'd be on LTE and Wimax handsets would know the same, since none are cross-compatible (well, those of us here know the difference ). All I care about is when I finally start to see the experience in the Charlotte market. That'll be good enough for me. The LTE part would just take up more room on the top bar of the phone.
  9. Couldn't resist once I saw "Superman"....
  10. That was a pretty nice gesture. The wife and I both got one. I'm going to stop by the Sprint store tonight to see if they have different colors, so we can differentiate ours at first glance. A clear one might be cool. Rob, glad I saw your post - I was about to create a thread on the cases but figured I'd stop in here and read through.

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

The new EVO is just nasty... I decided to run Google Maps Nav this morning for grins after I paired the Bluetooth. I didnt' hear anything and thought it odd at first. At the next light, I decided to start streaming Pandora through the BT. The Beats Audio automatically kicks in and it sounds GREAT in the car (there's quite a difference with and without the Beats kicked in over BT). All of a sudden, it quiets down and the Nav voice comes on over BT as well with directions! That made me a happy camper!
  12. The Wi-Fi connection was rock-solid for my wife and I while we were tinkering with our EVOs. Signal strength appears to be fine - a little better than my old HTC TP1.
  13. This is why, this is why I'm hawt. *LOL* Sorry I know, it's an ignorant song.
  14. Dude, I am SOOOO jealous! I must be at the freakin' END of my UPS delivery route, so he doesn't get to my house around 18:00 - 18:30 EST. I suppose that's good since my wife will be home before then and I work until 19:00 anyway.
  15. Just to let you guys know, I spoke with UPS Live Chat and there's no signature required for delivery if anyone's worried about that. With that being said, it's still at the driver's discretion.
  16. Scheduled For Early Delivery On: Thursday, 05/24/2012 Originally Scheduled For Delivery On: Friday, 05/25/2012 Approximate Delivery Time: 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM Last Location: Louisville, KY, United States, Wednesday, 05/23/2012 Disregard my previous statement - looks like Sprint's making it right!
  17. I just got my tracking number by reference as well and I have 2nd day air as well, which I'm not happy about. We were supposed to have Overnight Next Day PM, per the method I put on page 6. If you grab your DM order number and throw it at the end of this: https://myaccountportal.sprint.com/servlet/ecare?inf_action=orderLines&orderId= ...while logged into your sprint account (See My Bill > Recent Order Status section) it will show exactly that. I'm showing Friday delivery on mine as well and of course I work 7-7 that night. Hopefully, the UPS truck will show up after my wife gets home unless a signature's required. I'm going to try and hunt down the option to not require one in the UPS MyChoice options.I may even call Sprint about it, but I think it's too late at this point.

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

Interesting...I have a $50 BB GC that's burning a hole in my pocket...looks like it'll be gone soon!
  19. Apparently our pre-orders are free from customs! Let's hope to see some shipping e-mails / dates tomorrow!!! http://insidesprintnow.wordpress.com/ HTC EVO 4G LTE: Cleared by Customs 20 05 2012 It would appear that customs has cleared the HTC EVO 4G LTE. According to the TaiPei Times: “In a twist to the US’ import ban on various HTC Corp (宏達電) smartphones, the company yesterday said some of its products blocked by US customs because of patent-infringement concerns had been allowed to enter the US market after passing the customs’ review.” I have not seen anything internally yet as far as shipping dates, but I would expect to have that info either later tonight or super early in the morning. I do know there were several plans drafted based on when they would be cleared, so I’ll get that info and match it up and see where we’re at. Hang tight, it’s going to be a fast paced next 24 hours! And who knew customs worked on the weekend for commercial stuff! Thanks to about 200 people that sent me this article! I was out at brunch and having drinks with some friends on a lazy day, and had no expectations of anything breaking today At least now I’ve got some snooping to do.

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

    Thanks Slaughter! That's awesome!
  21. NP, leave a quarter. Don't ban me if that ends up getting changed... AGAIN.
  22. Some morning news for everyone: http://insidesprintnow.wordpress.com/2012/05/18/7am-update-htc-evo-4g-lte-launch-delay/ 7AM Update – HTC EVO 4G LTE Launch Delay 18 05 2012 Morning, all! After some MUCH needed sleep, and catching up on some emails, I just wanted to give a quick update before I head into the office to see what the day will bring. I CAN confirm that an email with out to the 3rd Party distro with the 5/23 date. Since Best-Buy is saying ‘whoops’ for sending the email, I’m not sure if they got smacked for releasing the date first, or if someone just messed up. I do believe I’ll be able to get a copy of the actual email today to post. There is a 2PM Conference bridge today about the launch.. but we’ve had these daily at some point each day, so don’t get too excited. Yesterday’s was simply boring stuff we all already knew. Generally these are not the venue for breaking news. Also, thanks to everyone that’s been reading the blog over the past couple of days, I’ve been able to get in touch with someone who actually works for the warehouse in Louisville yesterday! It took me a while to figure out how to verify who they were, but finally I was able to do so. According to them, we have some stock there that is in the foreign trade zone (aka customs) and some that is not. Apparently some of the earlier shipments have been in the racks for a while(some are always held back for replacements, demos, store models, training phones, etc…). They have indeed picked and packed both sections for the ones that are being shipped out, and last night they were prepping for ‘rollout’. I don’t have any more information than that… but I’m determined to find some out today Time for the morning commute. Hopefully I’ll be able to confirm something more soon. In the meantime, if you’re new to ISN, I’ve posted a TON of stuff over the past few years you might find interesting, so check it out – and let me know what else you’d like to see. From training docs, to processes, to launch decks…. I am generally so accustomed to seeing it all so much that I only post stuff that I think would be REALLY interesting to others.. but if there’s other stuff you’re curious about, please speak up!
  23. Ok folks, got this from XDA...here's how you can get your shipping/tracking info! I looked mine up and no tracking # yet, but it is slated for overnight priority mail, so that's good, for what it's worth. Hope this helps! 1. Log in to Sprint and click See my bill, then click order history on the right, copy your order number for your EVO 4G LTE (Should start with a DM) 2. Put https://myaccountportal.sprint.com/s...Lines&orderId= in your web browser, and paste your DM order number after the equals sign. Make sure you copy the link address, not just the partial that shows above! 3. Get your account number from the resulting output. 4. Go to UPS.com and on the left where the tracking text box is, click more options, then click track by reference. Input your 9 digit acct number in the "shipment reference" box and click track (you shouldn't need to mess with any other options, just input the account number). That got me this..
  24. Just got that same e-mail...it'd be awesome if they could get us the devices a couple days before the 18th.
  25. If you can get an EVO for Viper price, that'll be WELL worth the hassle. You'll be the only person to beat out my retentions deal so far.. I had to go through 3 different departments and 3 different phone calls on 5/7 to get everything I needed done.
