  1. You have to look at it in areas man, especially cities like Statesville and Mooresville. If they grouped Kannapolis, Concord, and Harrisburg all together, I wouldn't think twice about it, b/c it's the same general area. I'm really hoping Kannapolis and the rest of Cabarrus county are all going to be lopped in with Salisbury and/or Charlotte for that matter. Nice job on the map!
  2. Wow, someone lit up a good chunk of area around Reedy Creek Park, Newell, and over to 485/49. Looks like it stretches out Caldwell Rd, over to Tom Query, Rocky River, Grier Rd, and over to Hood Rd & Plaza Extension. Nice! It's so close to where I work on Harris and 85...come ON!
  3. Another new streak from just north of the 115/21 junction in Mooresville to almost I-77. That's a pretty rural area. I'll have to check that out next time I head to my folks house.
  4. Wow, new streaks definitely showed up all over the place. Folks have been busy! New areas look to include I-77 just west of the I-40 junction, Hwy 321 just north of Cherryville, Hwy 321 north from I-85, and in Salisbury at Jake Alexander and Hwy 150. That's a random streak at Hwy 218 & Hwy 601... pretty much East Deliverance - you can't SEE the banjos yet, but you can HEAR them!
  5. I think we're about due for a few more towers to pop online now... Would someone mind mapping Moss Road off S. Tryon and around to Erwin if they get bored or get a chance? If you're coming from 485, it's the next light after Carowinds Blvd, IIRC. TIA!
  6. Well, you could go into the *#*#4636#*#* menu, then Phone Info, and "Set Preferred Network Type" from "CDMA+LTE/EvDo auto" to "LTE Only" and see what you get forced to your phone for grins where you did get LTE. Another option would be LTE+CDMA, but that will only give you 1xRTT, not 3G, if there's no LTE. Just remember to switch back at some point, heheh...
  7. That's like that blip in 3rd Ward in downtown Charlotte. It's probably someone on a high floor in one of the many towers in that area picking up off the I-77, because it's been there a while. I did that very same thing from the 9th floor of the Marriott in Towson, MD when I couldn't get it on the street in front of the hotel. It basically created a false positive, technically speaking.
  8. Looks like a streak has been mapped on Graham St around Atando Ave and another one on Hwy 51 (west side of town) from 485 to Rea Rd. I hadn't noticed those before. DJW39, you probably won't see any relief on speeds until LTE drops in downtown. Once more people hop on that, I'm sure there will be better 3G speeds.
  9. livetaswim, you can be our guinea pig for next week. I was driving through Hwy 74 where it meets 7, near Gastonia and got no LTE through there, even though it's marked on Sensorly. I wonder if my EVO just didn't switch over in time or if the tower was off. I wonder what area they're working on now...
  10. I got another 2 miles of LTE mapped from the 77/85 junction down 85 towards Billy Graham. One speed test was 19.1 down / 5.9 up at about mile marker 36-37 and another test was 20.5 down and 6.3 up at the 77/85 junction!
  11. Looks like someone filled in Arrowood Rd and a section of Sharon Amity from Milton Rd. past Shamrock...didn't notice that before. S. Tryon / 49 looks a little more filled in now too.
  12. So the BT connection locked up again yesterday morning. On the drive to work, I thought about what else was different that was so minor, it felt like I was reaching like a country song. When I got to work, the only thing I could think of was that my phone's name was partially in lower case, so I renamed it with all uppercase letters and things seem to be fine for the drive home and back into work this morning with the exception of a quick drop here and there. That'd be pretty lame if the problem lied within my car's incompatibility with lowercase letters, but w/e at this point. If that's it, that'd be something else. At any rate, I figure those with BT problems are willing to try anything at this point, so there's one more thing to try.
  13. Hokay so... for weeks, I've been having trouble connecting my EVO to my 2011 Sonata. It would just hang and eventually come up with a wonky error message in a white box, saying it had run out of RAM and wanted me to convert memory, which ended up not working - but my wife's EVO *WOULD* connect. After doing some "helplessdesk" troubleshooting steps, I finally came to the assumption that my Bluetooth unit had died inside the phone, since 4 other people COULD connect to my car for BT & streaming via Pandora *kanyeshrug*. The tech guy at the Sprint store had trouble staying connected to a BT headset in the store as well, so he ordered me a new EVO for $35 (no TEP, but we're all still under the 1 year HTC warranty). I get the new unit today, pair it up and what happens? It starts to connect, but as soon as it gets to d/l my address book, what happens??? It HANGS AGAIN!!!!! Once again, the wife's EVO pairs up fine. Ugh! *facepalm* I go through all the BT options on the phone and can't really find any that would affect it. I start narrowing it down to something with the address book vs. possible limitations with vehicle BT / address book simplicity / limitations. Suddenly, it dawns on me - my wife has no interest in (Google) linking her contacts, but I sure do, so I "unlink" all my contacts, go back out to the car, unpair and delete the phone out of my Sonata, and pair it back up... SUCCESS!!!! Pandora plays beautifully now, my address book has once again started downloading, and it pairs up to other BT devices as well! If you are having ANY sort of BT issues with this phone and have Google Linked contacts, break the link on ALL of them and try what you were attempting before. I really hope this works for everyone out there since nobody's come up with a solution yet. Please let me know either way!
  14. Looks like another blip showed up on Hwy 49 on the SC side of Lake Wylie...
  15. Nice! Looks like someone lit the map up on Statesville Ave between I-85 & I-277 too. I can't wait until they light Kannapolis and the I-85/Harris Blvd area up...and anywhere in between for that matter.
  16. It does... here's the link to the market picture from Rob's article on the area. Basically from CLT, it reaches down I-77 to Rock Hill, out Hwy 74 past Shelby and nearly to Rockingham, up I-85 past Salisbury, up I-77 to I-40, then all the way out to Asheville and a lot of gap-fillers in the areas between the major interstates. That's a LOT of territory to cover in a lot of different directions.
  17. I barely caught the 4G at 77 and 85... only 4 points worth on Sensorly and NOTHING on 485, even through Ballantyne. Nothing on 24/27 either. Boooo...
  18. Hokay so... I have to drive all over the place today - Kannapolis to basically a mile away from Carowinds for one holiday stop, then take 485 all the way around to 24/27 & out to Locust for the wife's holiday stop. Basically, I'll have her drive so I'm not a menace on the roads while I'm mapping Sensorly, doing speed tests, and toggling airplane mode on the EVO around the areas we know have 4G . I'll see if there's any expanded coverage around 85, 77, then start checking again once I hit the Hwy 51 exit and around Ballantyne, as well as other areas, and report back. If there are any new coverage areas on 85/77, they'll be mapped on Sensorly before 2pm and 485 & 24/27 will be mapped by 5:30pm. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
  19. So, my EVO started looping endlessly last night after it froze up. A soft reset was to no avail, so I had to do the dreaded hard reset. Apparently when my contacts were thrown onto the EVO from my old phone, it was done BEFORE I set up my Google account on the phone, so about 95% of my contacts were never synced, unbeknownst to me. Does anyone know of an app or way that I could sync my address book from my 2011 Sonata BACK to my phone? All the contacts are sitting there on the car's address book, but of course there's no functionality to sync that I can see from the car's end. I'm hoping I have the old phone lying around somewhere, but thought I'd ask in the interim before I get home for the day. TIA!
  20. Looks like a spot popped up on 5th St near 77 in Third Ward too.
  21. You got any of that tharr 4G, Doyle? I aim to take my kaiser blade to that tower, MMM HMMM....
  22. You better believe I will be all over whatever is between Kannapolis and Harris Blvd in Charlotte the day it hits, lol. I'm in and out of Concord and Harrisburg every week and watching. Oh, a buddy of mine that watches the boards but doesn't post drove through the Lake Wylie area on Sensorly, ran a speed test and got about 13 down and 9 up...pretty decent speeds. He also works in downtown Charlotte and had found no LTE.
  23. Well, I put one more easily dot on the map at Monroe and Sharon Amity, lol. I started a speed test and got 4441Kbps down but wasn't at the intersection long enough to get an upload speed. As soon as I turned down Monroe, I lost it.
  24. Heh, Meck-Neck...I used to live way out there on Brawley School Rd, YEARS before it got ridiculous with traffic out there. I'm suprised there's cell service out there . I really hope they start working on the tower at IBM Drive near W.T. Harris Blvd & I-85 so I can have 4G at work. The 3G here is so bi-polar with speed.
  25. If you come back through, would you mind running mapping a trip on Sensorly during your route in NC so we can see where it picks up?
