  1. The camaraderie in these forums are like no other anywhere on the Internet. People willing to assist other markets with their map building is amazing.

  2. I didn't even know there was a premier map for 8t8r sites?  Did I miss this?  I know we have been struggling with updates to B41 maps, but this is huge.  Def worth the $$ for Chicago ppl.

David started building the map on Monday, so it is really new. I realized that some people may not know about it and I know a lot check in here also. It is way over due, I have had thought it would be cool to do this for awhile. I am glad others did as well, now happy to be helping and be working together up with some really great guys on this. It could even turn out to be better looking then Columbus map :D

  3. They are starting to turn on b41 8t8r spark sites in Chicago!! A good time to start thinking about upgrading your membership to have access the maps in Premier section. For the premier members feel free to click the link in my signature and fellow the new map that Tommy, David, Kyle and I have started. Also If you can't upgrade due to money or things going on. But want to help out, feel free to message me your scp logs. Anything helps :)

  4. I checked the coverage map this morning for SoCal and noticed that Las Vegas, the small LA suburb to the east, has been wiped off the map in terms of LTE coverage. I guess somebody put the network up in a gamble :rasp:

But seriously, I guess Sprint's updated coverage map, seems to have lost some markets (as of 6:30am PST 10/3)

Rockford,IL is not a spark market anymore and even sprint announced that. Looks like someone messed up in the update or something

  5. Have they enabled international use yet? I thought I read it was only domestic until further notice.

Am I able to make calls from international locations with Wi-Fi Calling?

Wi-Fi Calling supports calling from 200+ countries / territories. Wi-Fi Calling is not supported in select countries including:  Australia, China, Cuba, North Korea, India, Iran, Singapore, Sudan and Syria.  Sprint Subscribers are not authorized to use the service in countries where Wi-Fi Calling is prohibited by law. http://support.sprint.com/support/article/FAQs_about_Sprint_WiFi_calling/173e331f-8423-453e-93cb-4688f6a91f67

  6. Got you, I see the GS5 sport supports:

    2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900   CDMA 800 / 1900 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100

So I assume if I unlock the phone and travel to Brazil where they use GSM I can pop in a local carriers micro-sim and get service.  Thats really all I am looking for, I know there won't be LTE support internationally or on other domestic carriers.

Don't forget that sprint has wi-fi calling now too, so you can use your phone over seas to call phone over wi-fi for free :)

  7. That's amazing!! I wonder how sprint will perform once 8t8r sites are turned on with carrier aggregation, volte

I bet 1st place in everything, sprint is only losing due to speed. the first half of next year in chicago, I can see sprint winning in every category :rasp:

  8. Good Afternoon!! I am asking for everyone is in the chicago market for help, Tommy, kyle and I. We started a long over due chicagoland map to track gci's to help track the progress in chicagoland market. This is where I need your help, if you could send me your scp logs or location with a really really strong lte signal. This will help us fill in the map and track the progress.

Thank you for anything you can do, This is going to help save a lot of gas and time if we all work together on the data :-). Also as band 41 or 26 gets turned on. I will take that data too :)

  9. I have the Galaxy Note 3 released barely a year ago - is it not Spark enabled? Have they even turned on Spark in the Inland Empire? To me the problem seems to be backhaul, not spectrum / bandwidth - which Spark wouldn't resolve. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like original LTE's (1900 mhz?) distance is so limited in the IE, that that is the reason I am often not on LTE. So in order for Spark to benefit me, wouldn't they have to install more towers? Also, part of the problem seems to be building penetration - another area where Spark wouldn't help. For example, I get virtually no service in any of the restaraunts on Hospitality Lane, but slow service in the parking lots ... am I wrong on any of this?

Sadly the note 3 doesn't have spark on it, it was a little of shock that they didn't put spark in the note 3. The note 4 does though :) . Yes the 1900 lte is limited, with lte on 800(will match 3g coverage) then band 41 will match 1900 lte coverage with new beamform. Sprint network will be killer, Sadly you can't enjoy it like everyone who has spark.

  10. I am a new Sprint customer as of today.  I purchased a 64Gig iPhone 6 and the iPhone for life program, unlimited everything.  I actually live in Waukee, Ia.  Suburb of Des Moines.  I had Verizon for three years with great coverage and good speeds pretty much everywhere.  Recently, last 4 months, I have noticed reduced speeds on Verizon and occasional call issues, though not terrible by any means.  But at home I was only getting 1-1.5Mbps download.   I was intrigued by the unlimited data with Sprint, as I was going over my allotted 4 Gigs regularly.  Well I took the plunge today and so far I'm HAPPY.  At home I connect to Band 26 here in Waukee with -98Db and got download speeds of 5mbps and upload of about the same.  Voice quality is super and I love the iPhone 6.  I haven't traveled around town too much yet, and will report back when I have, but VERY happy with Sprint and the unlimited data and 60$ a month cheaper bill is a no brainer.  Looking forward to Spark someday, but I have been throughly testing the download speeds with movies and music and I am impressed.  I have better speed in my house than I have for 4 months with Verizon.

This site helped persuade me to switch, thank you.

Welcome!! As everyone else said, would love to see you as a sponsor(paid member). You get so much more access, then you will want more access and end up upgrading to premier. All the levels are worth it, also I started with a small donation and look at me now. I am a Premier member :). We all understand that money can be tight, yet think about the money your saving now and remember this website made you become a fan of sprint :D.

  11. I had a weird experience with the DAS system at solider field.  I wasn't sure what it was since it didn't seem to provide any service improvement for calls, data, or text to my device.  All I found was Boingo Wi-fi available for a fee there.

You wonder if the das at soilder field just wasn't set-up right, or just isn't powerful enough. I haven't been to a bears game in two years. But I know then, data was better on 3g then 4g. Yet now we got second carrier and will have 8t8r band 41 coming online soon :)

  12. Will S4Gru provide information in regards to the Band 41 prioritized deployment, like it did for the regular LTE roll out? (Maps for paid subscribers)

Morning! S4GRU, We have a lot of maps! Yet you have to become a premier sponsor to see b41 ones(a perk for us premier members), it is 100 dollars to do that. It is worth it in my eyes, I upgraded from a regular sponsor to premier and I love it. I love having access to so much information, even a regular sponsor is better then just being a member. We all understand that it isn't easy to come up with 100 dollars or have extra 100 bucks lying around, but think about just becoming a regular sponsor first (not as much) then I think you will see the value in becoming a premier sponsor.  Here is good information on how to become a sponsor :)

  13. I have a lot of issues with texts last night, I thought it was me at first. One of the persons I was texting was on the sprint also would send me double texts, hopefully it is just a network vision 2.0 upgrade issue or a one time thing . I wouldn't just let me retry sending the same text, I would have to edit the message or just re type it then it would work.

  14. How did peoples cell service hold out during the great storm that ripped though elgin all the way up to the northeast burbs?? I will say I had no issues with my data or cell service, I even drove home from milwaukee last night. To my parents in elgin. a few weaker then normal signals, but I thought over all not bad for what happened.
