  1. Is CDMA1X 800 (For WiWavelength) set as priority 1 for all PRL's that are  for LTE & 800 SMR? I have PRL 55017 on my S4 (L720). Each time I'm around the few CDMA1X 800 sites in the DFW area I'd update my PRL and it'd connect to 800. That's not the case anymore. I got to thinking, could they be upgrading the towers to 800 and that be the reason?

the galaxy 3 and up(on Samsung) has had 800 set higher on the prl then pcs, that is why when you update your profile. It locks on to 800, but if your in a area that doesnt have updated towers to 800, your phone will go to pcs after scanning for 800 first. Also your phone will stay parked on pcs until it loses the signal from pcs then rescan to find the strongest signal. Once you get in a market, like I am in chicago. You update the profile, and should stay on 800 until it can't find any usable 800. The only phone that has weird or different prls are the iphones, No one on here knows why the iphone has pcs sent higer then 800. Yet my mom iphone does has really good radios in it and will hold on pcs longer then my galaxy 3 sometimes. Yet I am locked on to 800 now and typically have better service then her :). I hope I answer your question, I am trying to do my part on this website to help out B)

  2. So I'm having a pretty uneventful night and have been googling LTE Denver trying to find anything new and I came across a post on the sprint message boards from a few days ago. Disregarding all the whining and complaining, the second to last post is a sprint rep telling a poster that a tower next to his house around 1st and Quebec is scheduled for upgrades within 90 days. I'm a little confused because every sprint tower I've seen around here has been upgraded. I haven't looked at this site in particular, but are there still towers around here that haven't been upgraded with the NV equipment? Or was this a way of the rep telling the dissatisfied customer that the LTE launch will happen within 90 days? I hope it's the former. I've been getting psyched watching the sensorly map grow and Merlin's pumping us all up! Any info would be great. Here's the link: https://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/144154

They say that to everyone on the sprint boards, don't ask me why they are trained to say that( or told to say that)

  3. I'm REALLY frustrated trying to figure out how to become a premiere sponsor. I assume this means a certain dollar amount of donation... I already donated a couple times for the 'basic' sponsorship, but would LOVE to be a premiere sponsor...yet I can't find anything on how much I need to donate to do it. Having to jump through such hoops to donate money makes it really easy for me to just want to give up and move on to something else.

I'm sure the info is here somewhere, but a search of the forums turned up nothing, and I can't seem to find an email address to contact the admins to send a question, which would also be useful.

This seems to me to be a HUGE hole and likely throwing away a lot of money by not making this information easily accessible. You'd get a lot more donating members if you maybe put a couple notes below the donation button so people have an idea of what they need to donate to get to x access level, or a link to a page that says if you donate this you get this.

With that suggestion in place.... what's the answer? :-)

If you don't know how much u have donated, message robert s4gru and he will be more then happy to tell u how much u need to upgrade to premiere.

  4. I'm destined to post screen shots of active band 26 here in Chicago. I'll be hunting for it throughout the week. I bought a hotspot to help my hunting. As far as I can tell, my iPhone 5s has band 26 locked. Couldn't connect at verified sites.

They could be accepted but not turned on yet, sprint has done that before.

  5. About the LTE800... that can only be treated as rumor right now, I have yet to see any LTE800 myself and I have not seen any post confirming LTE800 being turned on in chicago either.

Sprint said 800 lte by the end of year, if your premier sponsor you have a inside track of what is going on. Sadly I can't share much about it. 800 lte got delayed due to issue with the new phones and not being able to connect to 4g stand alone sites. I would say by christmas Chicago and a lot of Michigan will have a good amount of 800 lte turned on. Honestly it will be a great present for a lot people in Chicago, sprint has a lot of customers in Chicago.

  6. Any LTE being rolled out yet in Chgo ?    I had heard they were supposed to start turning on 800LTE this Month in areas they could.  I would think that could help spread things out a bit.

I am a little confused by the question? Chicago has had lte for long time now, They also now have lte turned on from clear and turning on 800 right now.

  7. so whats the lowest lte threshold you guys have noticed with a zing indoors and decent speed/ping?

Im thinking of ditching satellite internet and getting one of these with a 12gb plan which would be 2 more gb than what i have now.

U can always look into getting hotspot that can be hooked up to external antenna, otherwise I would recommend putting it up on the upstairs/highest floor of the house.

  8. At this time, there isn't a good way to BYOD to Sprint As You Go. I think they're trying to prevent people out of contract (low churn) from just switching to a SAYGO plan to save money.

Yea they are, but I get it. Right now sprint needs all the customers they can get, Sadly no one has patience in this world anymore. I was just reading on this forum that verizon in dc is slower then sprint though. The phone companies thought it would be great to switch everyone over to 4g, well u can only handle so  many people on it though. Everyone uses there phone, I know I go though a lot of data now that I have my gs3.

  9. Thought of that, but the Nexus isn't on Sprint's no-contract list. Would I be able to use it as a BYOD on a non contract plan? Also looked into Ting but there seems to be quite a wait until a nexus device can be activated and I didn't see an unlimited data option.

I am thinking of getting the N5 from Sprint, being the same hardware and software as the Google Play addition, and if things don't work out I can pay the ETF and move to another carrier. I am thinking with the additional incentives for porting from USCC, the cost of the ETF would be not to far off from buying the phone outright and I will have unlimited data if Sprint works out for me. I am in the NW burbs of and there has been good reception in all the stores I have tested the phones at.

I don't we why you wouldnt, Sprint has no contract plans,

  10. I've noticed isolated pockets of high SNR readings scattered around the city. If the T Mobile interference theory is correct, then SNR and speed would improve where T Mobile signal is weakest...until somebody makes a convincing case that network saturation hurts SNR, then I'm still not convinced lol. I was out in Elgin a few weeks ago and SNR was just as bad as in the city.

What part of elgin? My parents live in elgin and I haven't seen any problems with snr around elgin lately?

  11. Phase 2 is suppose to be the upgrade to 800mhz ? So does that mean they are going to turn on LTE here on the 800mhz spectrum at the same time as 1900 or maybe not at all on the 1900 mhz spectrum ? I'm all sorts of confused because I thought the 800 mhz upgrade was phase 2.

NV2.0= activation of SMR 800 service on a wide deployment on both CDmA and LTE. In addition, Clearwire TDd-LTE sites will be utilizing 2500 mhz for spark in huge 20mhz carrier aggregated channels. This is beginning with the Nextel iden shutdown on June 30,2013 11:59:00pm.
