  1. this wasn't a best buy employee... was an actual sprint rep she said they are turning them on and off

was explaining something to her she said maybe we should hire you, sprint laid alot of people off she said

A lot of people on here don't believe what the sprint reps tell people, because they lie a lot or tell people information based on what they have heard and that isn't even right. Being a member of this website and talking to the people on here. You actually know more then the sprint rep, I recommend. If you can, to become a sponsor on this website. I understand if you can't because of money, but honestly it is so worth it.

  2. I have landed at that airport right by where that tower is, You can get some really high and crazy winds though that area. I am just glad no one is hurt, that is all that matters. Typical I thought towers in areas like that are built to be able to handle a lot of wind also they get a lot of hurricane force winds and storms up the coast. That is what I don't fully get

  3. I know about the spectrum deal, I'm just curious if Sprint may want to utilize some of the sites that USCC had and are now vacant. Reason being is that there's a USCC site near my parents' house I would love to see Sprint put equipment on, being that service is sometimes marginal in that area. Just wishful thinking is all

I doubt they will lease that tower, they will use 800 lte and voice on it to fill that in. I doubt they will lease that site, but you never know. Softbank wants to have the best network in the us, that will mean adding cell sites to have better coverage for what 800 doesn't fill in. I honestly see them adding 800/1900 to clear sites that are not co-located to help fill in even more.

  4. How is the 1xAdvance on 800mhz coverage so far?  Most sites in Chicago has been live with that correct?

I get mad at my phone when it switches to 1900 pcs, because 800 is so much better. I have typically 4 to 5 bars on 800 to 2-3 though in areas that pcs would have one if you were lucky.

  5. You misunderstand Phase 2 of Cellular 850 MHz licensing.  Cellular Unserved Area applies only to the affected Celluar 850 MHz license, not to other spectrum licenses.  If Sprint were to take on this project, it would use its own PCS 1900 MHz and/or SMR 800 MHz spectrum licenses.  USCC's and VZW's licenses would remain unchanged.

Yea I understand, it was just wishful thinking that sprint could take something from big red.

  6. So it sounds like crown castle or whatever cell tower company will bulid the tower for company if someones would sign on to it. Also they could just put the antenna up on buliding in town, or maybe use 800 from exisiting tower. I am sure there is a way, and again if I was sprint I would totally do it. You know that if you sign up 40 percent of the town, that is 400 people on 50 dollar plan comes out to 20,000 a month. Not a big money maker, but at least it would cover costs. Also would totally get the rights from verizon for the 850, how cool would it be to rub it in big red face. That also is worth it in my eyes :rasp:

  7. Last time I checked all modern Qualcomm basebands are rev b capable, sprint is still selling non LTE devices, and evdo has better coverage than LTE. I think they thought LTE was going to be the end all be all of mobile data but it hasn't been the panacea they had hoped for.

It will be once they have lte on 800/1900/2600. Not even big red is supporting evdo rev b
