Any way tell if a tower 2 carriers live on it aka 1900mhz.
In the Samsung market(aka Michigan)it is the cell site then has 03,04,05 instead of 00,01,02 at the end of the cell id. This can be verified though engineering screen or signal check, Also typically has a ul channel/dl channel then what you originally see.
-
I sure hope they get to this sooner rather than later. Has anyone noticed a plan on when they will start with the 9000 tower upgrades?
Besides what is already stated on the wall, no. They are working on funding, I can see in a few months. We will start seeing the new cell sites pop up. That would be a good time to become donate to the site, so you can see the locations of the new sites

from what I've read, Grand Rapids is and has been essentially a perfect storm for terrible Sprint coverage. poor tower spacing and for a long time poor backhaul and a giant hill in the middle of the city. it's been really tough to stay loyal : /
That is because your area was served by a sprint affiliate, until sprint bought them. They just offered bare min coverage to fulfill the contract. So the spacing for pcs is bad, It will be fixed as sprint is working to add new cell sites around the united states.

I am visiting family near Philadelphia, and had just bought 2 in-laws shiny new Sprint iPhones. Naturally, tonight, to teach them how to use the new phones, I tried calling my and my wife's phones, which are provisioned in area 815. Total failure. We could call them FROM our phones, but they could not call us. All 4 phones were in the same room. Oh, crud, I am thinking, I just made a huge $900 flub. Bad words were said. I tried reloading PRLs, rebooting, calling Sprint (got a recording saying there was a known issue), etc., etc. Then, magically, they began calling perfectly. Then, I started seeing posts about the outage. My in-laws now question my sanity. [Well, so do I, but that belongs in another thread.]
This outage was a weird one, I wonder if sprint will ever tell us what actually happened. Until then, I am still blaming tongboy

Haters gunna hate, sorry not sorry. Enjoy your lack of phone calls due to my birthday quake, Chicagoland area! [emoji41]

It didn't affect me, I got wi-fi calling on my m8

Yeah, sorry about that. I won't let it happen again.
You really didn't have to go to that much trouble for kyle bday, a simple card or hot girl with big boobs. Yet a earthquake, show off

Yeah same here, my family and I went out for dinner for my birthday and my sister couldn't get through to any of us. Luckily iMessage is working though

I am glad to have wi-fi calling, the outage isn't affecting me. But this does suck, I am guessing a msc issue? Yet I thought they had a back up system in place?

In band 41 areas is b25 faster?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I can only speak for chicago, I don't know your market as well. But yes when there is good area covered by band 41, The speeds improve. As band 41 coverage increases and as more people upgrade to tri-band phones. Band 25 will get faster and faster.
-
The first speed test that sprint has ever won. According to the logic of other people, this was never going to happen. I think we will see some more of these this year.

I knew this would happen , I can't wait to see the 2H root metrics reports. Sprint will have a lot more 8t8r up by then. I know sprint will take first in a lot of cities around the united states, in the rootmetrics reports. It is exciting times right now for s4gru and sprint

Sprint did get extra 10 mhz in 1900 pcs block from uscc, so they have 40 mhz in stl now plus the g block. So 50 mhz total, the same as Chicago. Give everything some time, sprint will be power house soon
-
Who does Sprint use as fiber back haul providers in suburban Detroit? I couldn't see anyone where I live besides Comcast and WOW as being a possibility.
ATT and comcast would be my guess. I know a lot of sites in western Michigan were using att

Contract ends in September, but I believe I'm eligible to upgrade now to the iPhone 6/6s.
By September I can see Detroit being close to finish with band 41, they are moving at a fast rate right now. If you upgrade to 6/6s, you will get band 41 here and there. So it is really up to, the band 25 isn't going to change and you already get a phone that gets band 26 when that gets turn on. So again it is really up to you. I will say that my experenice with a tri-band, it is like night and day. So when all the bands get turned on, you will love being on sprint
-
I've been getting the same crummy sub 2 Mbps down, sub 1 Mbps upload speeds since Oct. 2013 where I live. I don't see how adding b26 and b41 will help when I doubt Sprint is upgrading back haul like they should be.
They are trying to upgrade the backhaul, sadly the same thing is happening with backhaul providers. They are sitting on simple upgrade order for few weeks or a few months. It is sad, If I had company that wanted increase in backhaul and I could make more money off them. I would be all over that and then some lol. Band 41 will help out a lot, sprint has a lot more room to grow on band 41. So as long as a lot of people have spark phones, you will benefit from it. Speeds in spark markets are going up on band 25, because a lot of people are using band 41 more now. The overall sprint experience is getting better and better

That's not what Steve Jobs taught me! ☺
That is because Steve Jobs thought he was always right, and everyone else was wrong.

Just went Sprint gets good in Orange Country I lose LTE. I think Sprint started throttling me. My normal spots that I'm has B25 and great B41 and all of a sudden I'm stuck on 3G in those locations. I tried resetting my phone and have provisioned it again. If I cycle airplane mode it briefly connects to LTE and then drops back to 3G, which is horribly unusable. Can anyone confirm or deny my claim? My data usage 8.8 gb, which I didn't think was a lot. I stream music and use my phone for work and school (mainly emails).
It is a network issue, I used 15-20 gb a month on average. Sprint doesn't throttle me

let us celluar keep the name, they are paying 3.4 million a year for the naming rights. I would rather see that money goto new cell sites and/or them doing more band 41 sites

He has it on ATT since he resides in a non Sprint native region.
With hopes that project cedar changes that

How is everyone monitoring band 25 or band 41 is there an easier way than going to the engineering screen? What app?
signal check pro it was created by a member of this website http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/3060-signalcheck-android-app-to-monitor-your-2g3g4g-lte-signal-strengths/
it costs 1.99 at the play store, totally worth the 2 bucks https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blueline.signalcheck&hl=en

In the Rockford market (Samsung 8t8r FIT), I'm sure most are broadcasting 2. I haven't been up there in about 8 months, but I'm sure we have a member or two that could confirm.
Sent from my iPhone 6+
I was in rockford about month and half ago. I saw them testing the second carrier then, it was only on a handful of sites. They were using 41776 channel(same as they used in kansas, during the world series for the second carrier/channel)

Cash for nTelos?
That accounts for the dollar they would spend, what are they going to do with the rest of money(999,999,999,999)

I noticed this a few days ago, Honestly I am glad. Because a lot of 8t8r sites now are down in the 30-40's for average here in chicago, that is ever since the iphone 6 and christmas. So I wouldn't say that is spark speeds, until they upgrade the backhaul
-
Well i am just a 3rd line on this plan and wanted to just add my credit card and pay my line fee instead of giving chash to the contract holder.
I found that if i Dial *3 and put in the correct information it will allow me to add a credit card but im not sure if it will allow me to only pay a certain amount on the bill and then they would pay the rest when the bill comes due.
I would really hate to add my credit card then end up paying the whole bill.
My parents use online bill pay and pay the same about every month. No issues doing it that way

Oh wow, Good Job. If Sprint Takes over most of the Uscc towers in northern IL., Network would be bullet proof..
Update: Looking at Google Map again it looks like the Container has been there for a while. Not sure when its dated. But I doubt I'm that lucky for Sprint to use that tower.
If you ever make it to Marengo, Check on a tower for me. Last time I was there I saw a big storage container a lil away from the Uscc tower. Didn't see any work being done. Didn't know if it belong to the owner of the house or what. But would be a perfect location to add service. I live 5 minutes from there but currently in AZ and have no idea when I'll be back home. Link is below if you have time...
They took the uscc antennas off of it and now there is nothing on it now. So it would be a great site to put up a sprint setup on it, a lot of 3g around that area.

They want to work, they get paid per the job. I agree with you, I saw a crew working on one of thoses cold days. Where the weather was 20 below zero with the wind chill, More power to them and good for us. The more they work, the faster network 2.0 will get done
