States are also determined to ruin coverage. If Sprint has to go on their own they will only be in the cites which is frustrating outside of bigger cities. Plus Sprints lack of low band spectrum.

Welcome to how the some governments think, if your in a state that is against this merger. Call your house rep and tell them that they need to approve this merger and it is actually good for the state.

  2. Honestly, I have great speeds in chicago on my lg g7 and don't really care about 5g. When your getting 100-200 on 4g with sprint, I don't really care about 5g. But it is still cool to see how this is all playing out and how sprint is doing so much better then others with 5g. Get this tmobile merger done and it is going to be great to have the money to spend to expand 5g

  3. This has literally turned into dish needs help to build a cell phone network, lets try and screw over t-mobile and sprint to make this happen. I wonder who charlie knows at the doj to make this happen. So stupid, I am normally have a lot of patient with things like this. But I agree with bigsnake, tell doj to go pound sand. They are giving them a far shot to get the cell network going and they get boost customers to start this network. What a hell of a deal

Does anyone know if Shentel will be deploying 5G or will that be taken over by Sprint?

The Sprint 5G map: http://coverageort.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp? currently only shows 5G deployed in the NoVA area which I don’t think is under Shentel.. (Put a pin down in a location to see if it already has 5G.)

I know it’s still very early but, I’m just wondering.

shentel follows sprint in mimo & 5g Saw this the other day, forgot to post.

Just an update.... I was in full USCC territory for 4 days with 2 of these phones. Have been to the same area many times in the past without issue. This time, however, neither phone connected to any LTE roaming, none zip zero. Prior to this trip I would connect primarily on USCC with some AT&T here and there the entire time.

I tried rebooting, toggling airplane mode, changing the radio to "LTE Only", making sure Data roaming was enabled, power off/on, a zillion times.

Is this a 9.0 Pie issue? Sprint issue? How do I report this to the "correct" people?

Did you try making a phone call? I hear somethings that works

It's a known issue that LG's engineering screens get stuck, but this is pushing it to the extreme here. My best guess is the engineering screen is in error, SCP is almost always correct when it comes to band identification.

Of course, now you tell me. After I buy an LG?

Another user also sent me screen shots from Chicago. I do have a concern about the LTE Engineering screen. I'm wondering if it's not getting stuck, because according to SCP, he was on B41 the entire time, despite the engineering screen saying B25. Also, the PLMM on his screen was wrong, it showed a Clear PLMN while also saying B25. I'm thinking that perhaps the PCC is getting stuck and not accurately displaying information, leading to false 25+41+41 reports.

It could be, SCP says I am on a band 41 site. When I sent the screen shots,  it says the same thing right now, well I am at my home site here. Could it be scp thing? Or is it really getting stuck on the engineering screen?

Can you grab a screenshot of 25+41+41? Just want to see it in action! I didn't know that was live on the network yet.

Glad the phone is working well! Might have to bite the bullet and get one soon haha. Probably looking at the $200 off Best Buy deal. Don't have two lines that want one on my account right now to to get buy one get one deal from Sprint.

When I get back to Chicago. I will get one, I am in dayton ohio for work right now. I was shocked to see it as well. My m9 would do 100+ on band 41 and now the new set-up and phone. Double it and only getting faster ?

Any thoughts, experience, or recommendations regarding LG G7 ThinQ on the Sprint network?

    https://www.sprint.com/en/landings/lg/lg-g7.html

I just bought one and love the phone so far,  I have tested it in Chicago/Indy/Cincy and Kansas city so far. I easily get 200 Mbps on speed.  A lot of 25+41+41. The AI Cam is cool, and the dual 4k cam makes the pictures so clear. I really like the audio on it.  Lg did good on this,  and I came from htc phone. So I am really big into audio.  best buy has good deal on this phone. Where it is two hundred bucks off if you go though the sprint financing with them. Any questions, feel free to reach out to me

That's what I need to do, and I THINK I figured it out.

    1. Adding a line to my account, and then porting my current Sprint # over to GV

2  Add the new number to the phones that GV rings

3.Set up my phone to use my Google Voice number when making outgoing calls(! SPRINT told me about this!): https://support.google.com/voice/answer/3379129?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&oco=1&vid=0-1032765751057-1524502956417

The only question if there is a way to have Google Messages, or find another MMS app, that would use my Google Voice number as default.

P.S.:  I'm not even sure if it still works, let alone if it allows MMS's; but Motorola had a Connect extension for Chrome:  https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-85349/

Link your google voice account to google hangouts and you can get your google voice calls and texts in that app. https://support.google.com/voice/answer/6023920?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
