  1. So I noticed today that I have the Google Assistant on my N6P. Out of habit I hold home button due to the original Google Now on the N7 2012. After holding a pop-up came up asking to activate the assistant. I am completely stock but am enrolled in the beta program. My build number is NPG05F, Android 7.1.2. My Google App version is 6.13.25.21.arm64. My Google Now Launcher version is 1.4.large.

Thanks, I was wondering how to activate it

  2. So far I haven't noticed any changes. I'm in good B41 coverage. Maps bugged out on me 3 times in a row this morning but I don't think its safe to assume it's from the update. As most of us read, no additional functions from the finger print scanner.

We got upgraded to 10x10 B25 and since then my phone has either parked on B25 or B26. I would literally be next to a Sprint site and not get B41 until this update happened.

  3. Looks like numbers are starting to come in. It looks like they all did very well with probably only spots of outages or slow data.

    Speeds

    TMobile  54Mbps

    Sprint     52Mbps

    Verizon  30Mbps

    AT&T     27Mbps

    Throughput

    Verizon   11TB

    AT&T      9.8TB

TMobile  "nearly twice as much data!" ~4.2TB (last year was 2.1TB)

Speedtest were from Tmobile and the Tmobile throughput https://newsroom.t-mobile.com/news-and-blogs/super-bowl-network-performance.htm

    Verizon throughput http://www.verizon.com/about/news/super-bowl-li-numbers-top-10-list

    AT&T numbers from news articles http://www.khou.com/tech/super-bowl-li-sets-mobile-data-usage-record-on-att-network/400832209 https://www.wirelessweek.com/blog/2017/02/numbers-mobile-usage-super-bowl-51

Marcelo was tweeting out speed test results during the game, check his twitter feed

    Edit in:

Just looked at Twitter, He says that Sprint customers used nearly 5TB of data 3x of last years game

  4. Android 7.1.2 has been announced and is part of the beta program, but the Nexus 6P is not eligible yet.  Looks like Google is still working on something.  Hopefully its a fix for the random hand locks that I've been experiencing about every three days.

I'll check in when I get notified the OTA is available.

  5. Not down.  We are just temporarily blocking guest traffic.  We are having a run on guest traffic lately.  We will temporarily shut down guest traffic between now and the end of the month when it gets extraordinarily high.

    Thanks

  6. I've used many subsidy upgrades, but my last two phones have been full purchase price.  For my family members, up until just 6 weeks ago, used subsidy upgrades.  They are a great way to get a "current" device at a discount, but paying for that discount with the contract and legacy plan.

The industry has changed, but Sprint has the CDMA noose hanging over them.  If Sprint was a GSM carrier, then this would be a non-issue as just about any device would be eligible for BYOD.  Due to Sprints CDMA network and boutique bands it makes it difficult to BYOD without a get deal of research and knowledge, then working with CS to get a proper SIM and activated.

Sprint has done an amazing job pulling themselves up and becoming a major player in the industry again.  I hope this doesn't come back to bite them in the ass, but they've been pushing the 0% financing/lease model for two years now.  I think the average customer is used to this already as all new customers in the last 18 months are on these plans.
