  1. Just copy and paste it for quick glancing, or, once your dial it, and don't directly dial any other numbers, you can just hit the green send button and it pops up.
  2. There's an app if you're jailbroken that is called "signal 2." It isn't a fraction as excellent as Signal Check Pro, but it's something. Otherwise, just dial *3001#12345#* while on LTE, then click serving cell info. That will give you the connected LTE band, up/down frequency, and cell identity. To get your cell identity to look like it does in signal check, including your gci, just use a decimal to hex converter (google it).
  3. Drivers have to go off-duty in their truck for 10 hours, by law. It's either that, or stare out the window.
  4. I never expected a harsh rebuttal from you, AJ. Unfortunately, data usage isn't one-size-fits-all, and I really don't care what presser tells me that "97% of Americans use less than 2gb, so you should, too!" Those "millions of drivers before me" didn't have the available technology at their disposal like I do in 2014. I guess I should switch jobs, or just sit in my truck miserable, and find a nice AM broadcast of a church sermon to "offload the network." I understand your concern, and firm stance on "data pigs," but please, take into consideration that not everyone is alike in their usage.
  5. I'm a truck driver. LTE is my main source of Internet. Downloading purchased movies/shows, Spotify, tune in, nbc live extra, netflix, YouTube, plus browsing, email, and social media can really add up. I run a few speedtests per day, usually when my connection goes wonky just to verify a site isn't broken, and it's in fact the connection. Also, I never have, nor will I ever tether illegally. Everything is through my phone. I'm just using my phone for what it is, and what it is meant for. Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of an office wifi connection for 8-10 hours a day.
  6. We'll see how this shapes up. I use 20gigs without even trying. I'm never home, and on my phone all day.
  7. At least it's not only time specific (during congested times) but it's also location based. So, theoretically, you can move a block, connect to a less congested site, and have the throttle removed, right?
  8. I think there are some down tilt/power adjustments happening. I have a stronger dBm in a lot of places. One place where I know my dBm on my iPhone has been -85 every day since I got my iPhone in September is now -69.
  9. Robert was tired of AT&T in his home town, and wanted to see the NV progress across the nation, so he embarked upon a little journey. It went something like this:
  10. I think we're entering the beginning stages of the network we've been waiting for around here.
  11. AJ wrote a great article detailing all of this spectrum acquisition. I only partially understand spectrum, but this article is chocked full of numbers and information http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-334-updated-sprint-uscc-spectrum-deal-sprint-gets-20-mhz-broader-in-the-city-of-broad-shoulders/
  12. I think you're right. Hey, I learned something new today.
  13. Extra capacity is a beautiful thing. To think: we will soon have 3 5x5 carriers, plus our 10x10 on b41. Excellent.
  14. This is correct. The spectrum isn't contiguous, and will be a separate 5x5 carrier. It just started popping up recently in Chicago, and the gci's are different (makes it easier to spot). St. Louis was part of that deal, and should begin reaping the benefits shortly.
  15. My bad. It's hard to remember locations. Keep an eye on those GCIs. Post your findings in the Chicago thread so we can track it.
  16. Where in the Chicago market are you receiving this new carrier. I found a bunch last night, and I'm trying to get a geographical idea of where it is. You can post additional information in the Chicago market thread.
  17. No need for a lock code or dialer code. Click those three dots you see in signal check > system shortcuts > debug. That will show your engineering screen with your connected LTE band.
  18. iPhone 5s/c is dual band, and the galaxy mega is tri band.
  19. It appears so. It has a correct gci of 1a. When in doubt, just check your debug screen to be 100% positive.
  20. I have a feature suggestion, Mike: maybe a "driving" feature for us folks who drive around staring at SCP. Maybe something where only the network mode and gci are enlarged for easy, safer mobile viewing.
  21. The Sprint Note 3 is only single band LTE. Only band 25
  22. I know the 5 is hd compatible with T-Mobile, and maybe only T-Mobile.
  23. Also, does it come with visual voicemail?
