  1. I just can't wait to see a band 41 field test screenshot. Someone better post one here on Friday.
  2. Way, way more practical than a stupid heartbeat monitor.
  3. At least it was always usable. This is the progress Sprint needs. Being able to handle large crowds is a great thing.
  4. It may be a temp site, but wouldn't too much bandwidth be better than not enough? Especially at a massive race with Sprint branding everywhere? I mean, if only one provider is going to succeed there, shouldn't it be Sprint?
  5. That's surprising that band 41 wasn't present. That's their bread and butter for capacity. It wasn't on the air show cows, either. I don't get it.
  6. I forgot to note that I didn't find the 8t8r turned on across the street when I drove by Friday evening. Hopefully, those got turned on. I know that site has all 3 5x5's broadcasting. Last year, it was only one 5x5. My family said service was miserable during that really long rain delay.
  7. AppleCare isn't free, it's $99, and they'll only replace items in the box. An aftermarket 6 foot cord wouldn't be covered. Every iPhone does, however, include one year of warranty coverage for free. If anything breaks (naturally, and not caused by the user), they'll fix it for free, or swap for a new iPhone on the spot at the Apple store.
  8. Upon further investigation, you're right. I thought i read on these forums that water damage wasn't covered. So basically, just don't have your phone stolen.
  9. I argued this for an hour with my friends. AppleCare is better if water damage and theft aren't a concern. Personally, I don't mind paying $11/mo for a full blanket of coverage. I've been paying it for years and have never made a claim. Another friend of mine has a 5s with att on their next program. No insurance, just a life proof case (which had a leak in it somehow). He was drinking and thought it would be fun to take the phone in the pool. After drying the phone for a few hours in rice, it came back to life, sans both cameras. Lesson learned: insurance on a $700-$1000 iPhones is a must.
  10. Every phone or hotspot that I've purchased from Sprint has used UPS. Maybe different areas use one or the other.
  11. All this talk of WISPs struck up a memory. Back in 2001, Sprint launched a broadband setup atop the Sears Tower. Anyone within a 35 mile radius (and a line of sight) could get internet at home. I wonder if they could ever fire up something like this, only faster. It was pretty popular here, and I still see the antenna on houses here and there. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2001-03-26/business/0103260234_1_sprint-service-high-speed-internet-service-cable-modem-service '> http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2001-03-26/business/0103260234_1_sprint-service-high-speed-internet-service-cable-modem-service
  12. Will the plus fit in your pocket
  13. Apple should have known. People have been crying for an iPad sized phone since, well, always. Stock should have been equal, if not greater with the plus model.
  14. Two new sizes, and I can't make up my mind. I can't afford to pre-order (unfortunately) because I'm getting married in two weeks and can't spare the expense. I need to see/play with them in the store to see which size phone I like better. I probably won't be able to grab one until November/December which is probably when the next batch will become available. This will be the biggest iPhone launch ever, and their inventory makes me nervous.
  15. This intrigues me. I have not read on this forum about anyone paying off an easy pay phone. I was wondering if one would be instantly eligible or had to wait.
  16. Not possible with Sprint. It failed to hold at facility for 2 phones and 1 hotspot that I've had delivered. Besides, holding at a ups facility is free. They do it to prevent credit card fraud by requiring it be shipped to the billing address.
  17. I hate how Sprint phone delivery with ups doesn't allow me to hold at the sorting center for pickup. I hate waiting for them, and it's so much easier to get the package when it's convenient for me. I guess Sprint requests a home delivery only for security reasons.
  18. I'm reading about this new feature where an iPad can get data though an iPhone hotspot. How is this different than purchasing a hotspot plan and tethering? Will the new feature allow a Mac or iDevice internet access without a tethering plan?
  19. For those of us that really don't know what these numbers mean, do you think you can compare them to the 5s and maybe the nexus 5? Just to see how it stacks up?
  20. Looks like a special "iPhone for life" plan. 50 and 20 for the phone. That's a spectacular deal if you can go with every other iPhone. Personally, I need the newest every year. But it's great now, especially if Apple continues the "iPhone/iPhone-s" trend. You'll only be getting the "next" iPhone. Most don't consider the "s" models upgrade-worthy.
  21. The masses are so angry that simultaneous voice and data doesn't really exist on newer phones with Sprint. This Apple iPhone 6 feature page touting volte with simultaneous voice and data is going to confuse people, and anger them shortly after launch. I can already imagine the Facebook/Twitter comment responses with Sprint.
  22. I need to see these phones in person. That plus model seems massive, and borderline too big to comfortably use. It's bigger than my m8, and taller than a note 3. But I really want the better battery and ois in the camera.
  23. Spigen updated their page, and are now selling cases. http://www.spigen.com/brands/apple/iphone/iphone-6.html
  24. With today's announcement, we're finally inching towards a better Sprint network. Love them, or hate them, Apple users make up a large chunk of Sprint subscribers. Anyone coming off a 5 (2 years ago) will have access to 26, 41. 5s upgraders will add band 41, effectively helping to divvy up network traffic. It's a win-win for everyone.
