  1. My 6 connects to band 26 less than my 5s did. It hangs on to both pcs carriers in the Chicagoland area for dear life before usually dropping to 3G. We have a unique situation in our market with 2 pcs carriers, and I'm just going to attribute my issue to the tower not being configured for band handoffs properly. I see band 25 hang on around -115 and up now constantly. That never used to happen.
  2. Every now and then mine will do that. Shutting the screen off and then back on fixes it.
  3. This is very true. Especially in apartments/condos/townhouses. My father-in-law was having an issue where he pays for 50/10 cable and was only getting around 7/2. I bought him an apple router for Xmas, fired up a 5ghz channel, and now he's getting 60/12. Way too much interference in his apartment building.
  4. Same problem here. I end up hitting letters and the other person thinks I'm typing.
  5. That was on my list of problems with my last iPhone 6. Sometimes, it would just never see wifi connections. The searching wheel would just spin forever and never show the at least 10 wifi networks I can pick up from my living room. Random drops were also a problem. Apple swapped my phone out without even being able to recreate a single problem at the store. Now, my phone works how it supposed to. I didn't lose a single percent of battery while sleeping (9 hours).
  6. It might be a lot better if you purchased an actual flashlight.
  7. My battery life was terrible on my 6. It would get red hot and drop a few percent a minute if doing something heavy like video or a big game. I took it to Apple yesterday and got a new phone from them. He did a diagnostic and said he's never seen so many corrupt system files causing crashes ever. Guess I had a lemon. Battery seems a little better now. I lost 30% while sleeping for 6 hours, but I saw that "photos" was at 70% with background activity. Probably just finishing up the sync process.
  8. starting with phones released in 2015, legally, they have to be.
  9. iPad or AndroidPad, doesn't matter. I just really think that a tablet works better in the cab of a truck rather than a laptop.
  10. Ether the official Apple Bluetooth keyboard, or some other variant. Also, there are lots of cases with a built in keyboard.
  11. As a truck driver, I find a tablet to be the best in-cab solution. Especially an iPad. Apple has some nice truck gps/log apps out there, and for portability, ease of use, web browsing, email, video chat (FaceTime, Skype, or any other chat app), Netflix, etc.. Look into a tablet rather than a chromebook. If you/he decides on a laptop, make sure the HDD is solid state. Truck vibrations destroy regular HDDs.
  12. Same with lifeproof. It's kind of stupid that these two don't have a case out yet.
  13. Wasn't it the 4S era when AT&T coerced Apple into pushing an update to show the "4G" label next to the bars so people thought they had a faster connection? I remember a friend and my dad telling me their phones went from 3G to 4G with an update.
  14. Do you have an engineering screenshot or signal check screen shot? Sent from my iPhone 6
  15. Another scandal rocks the iPhone 6 world. First was "bendgate." Now, we have "hairgate." Users on Twitter are reporting the seam where the aluminum meets the glass is catching hair on your head or beard, pinching it, and pulling it out. What shall we do? Complain on Twitter? Or, buy a case. Sent from my iPhone 6
  16. There's an option to export the log right in signal check. Then just find it, and upload it to a cloud service like Dropbox and post the link to the file. As for the stuck band 41 display, that happens occasionally in that app. Always verify in your phone's engineering screen, or familiarize yourself with the Chicago market band 41 gci prefixes. They are: 00A/00B/087 for Chicago clear wire band 41, and 07F for Sprint band 41 (8t8r antenna mounted on a nv rack). Sent from my iPhone 6
  17. Naked phone. Just be careful. It's too slim and sexy to cover. I've seen about 5 people with iPhone 6's, and they have also been caseless. Sent from my iPhone 6
  18. Sounds like an ecsfb problem with the spark side of that tower. Dial *3001#12345#* then "serving cell". That will show your band and a decimal value of the connected tower. Convert that value to hex for the true gci. From your own dbm/sector id observations (sector will be the last 2 of the gci), you should be able to use the sponsor maps to get the Sprint tower id to report trouble to Sprint tech support. The actual tower number you see on the maps here have a name, but I can't think of it right now. Sent from my iPhone 6
  19. iTunes match is great. I have my library in the cloud. And, if I'm flying or going to be without data, I pull certain playlists/albums locally. I guess it's the iPhone version of Google music. It also replaces low quality songs with a higher bitrate automatically. It's 24.99 a year. Not sure how much the Google equivalent is. Sent from my iPhone 6
  20. At this point in time, there's no point in ordering a 6 online or in store, especially if you live in a large city. You should be able to find one by calling around. The plus, however, may be a different story. I randomly called 2 Sprint corporate store in my area, and the second one had a grey 64gb 6, and a gold 16gb 6, 4 days after launch. Just have to get lucky. Sent from my iPhone 6
  21. As of my trip there about 10 days ago, service on the strip was horrendous. The little bit of service there is way, way over capacity. Service elsewhere in the valley was pretty awesome. Sent from my iPhone 6
  22. The camaraderie in these forums are like no other anywhere on the Internet. People willing to assist other markets with their map building is amazing. Sent from my iPhone 6
  23. The prl doesn't control your LTE connection. You are correct, though, about the iPhone not using 1x800 ever for voice. Band 26 LTE is mostly for coverage extension, although you may occasionally get shunted over to band 26 during peak times for capacity. Sent from my iPhone 6
  24. Here's my constant error (with nothing plugged in). Also, as of today, my phone doesn't always charge when plugged in. I've tried with 3 iPhone chargers and 1 iPad charger. All 4 charge our other iPhone and iPad so it's the phone. I need to get back to the United States and hit up an Apple Store. There isn't one in Puerto Rico which is mind blowing. Sent from my iPhone 6
  25. I sold the phone months ago. Probably right after you said no. My post wasn't sales pressure. It's simply the only phone that would let you freely switch between Sprint/gsm/international gsm without any hoops to jump through. I'm just throwing ideas out there because you're still not set on a provider. Sent from my iPhone 6
