  1. I would reserve judgement until the Spark update arrives to see if the LG G2 signal shows some improvement. Perhaps we can be surprised but either way I am willing to live with any shortcomings of the G2. It has been a great device so far. I don't have issues with LTE reception and I am glad the GN3 is working out for you. However I can't stand a single band LTE device and I don't want the Nexus 5 for the small battery and just plain vanilla.
  2. That is a huge misstep that at least the unlimited data option doesn't include a small bucket of mobile hotspot for free. Sent from my LG G2 LS980 using Tapatalk
  3. I don't think the Framily plan includes free tethering. The Tmobile Simple Choice plan if you select the Unlimited data option includes up to 2.5 GB mobile hotspot service. Its a nice perk to have but I think overall better LTE coverage is more important.
  4. All I can say is that there is no promise of a modem update although the ZVA firmware points to one. However that doesn't guarantee that things will be all fine. A baseband update could improve on the LTE reception to a certain extent but stuff like preamps, filters, etc that make the still could be the limiting factor which can't be fixed.
  5. I personally think the Framily plan at all levels should be reduced by $5 to compete directly with Tmobile. The Framily plan with 1 line should be $70 ($50 + $20 unlimited) and at 7 lines should be $20/line. Right now the prices are still not low enough to get my family members on Sprint to sign up for the Framily plan. If Sprint wants to stop the bleeding on customers they have to directly compete or undercut Tmobile's Simple Choice plan prices and with the Framily plan it is still more expensive than them.
  6. Its hard to say at this point. Don't want to make any big promises. We will have to see what the Spark update brings to the G2 besides flipping the B26 and B41 flags. From looking at the NV Complete maps, not all sites have been upgraded to LTE in downtown Chicago. I don't think that is the best place to test your LTE since it could be a lot of users hammering that same site.
  7. Man is that a CM 11 issue or is that just a freak accident? Now you learned your lesson to backup your EFS partitions onto your PC and eisewhere.
  8. So when you flashed CM 11 and you were using it, the EFS issues occurred?
  9. HAHA..autoprime will be so disappointed in you.
  10. OMG you are such a flash noob. You are suppose to backup your EFS partitions and have a nandroid backup handy.
  11. Your G2 is working as intended and is not an issue with SignalCheck Pro. Due to the G2 being a single radio path phone, you won't see 1x and EVDO values when you are connected to LTE. Try going to a 3G only area or enabling CDMA only area and you will see 1x and EVDO values. This is going to be the new norm so you mind as well get used to it. Don't try to compare with the GS4, iPhone 5, HTC One, Note 3, etc because they are not single radio path phones. If you know someone who has a Sprint triband LTE phone, you can ask them to check their SignalCheck Pro app and it will report only LTE values if you have a LTE connection.
  12. So you think Dish wouldn't be on the hook to pay out of pocket the difference between the bids and the reserve price? I think Dish said that if the FCC did a favor for them by allowing the 2000-2020 MHz spectrum rules to be converted to supplemental downlink instead of uplink that Dish would honor the 1.56 billion reserve price. That would really suck if that was not the case. I want Dish to suffer for setting such a high reserve price for being an arse.
  13. Wow..so sprint is really adopting the T-Mobile phone model. I guess from here on out we will be paying full retail for smartphones. Sent from my TouchPad using Tapatalk 4
  14. Is the time PST, CST, MST, EST? What time zone was the 11:36 am? Sent from my TouchPad using Tapatalk 4
  15. Ouch that sucks. Unfortunately So Cal is horrible this season for skiing/snowboarding due to so much sun!!! I wish some of the east coast and upper northwest could share some of that weather with us Californians. This is why I have to go to Canada in February to get my skiing fix. I have been dying to go snowboarding this season.
  16. I don't see anything yet mentioning the Spark update on the Sprint site.
  17. So what does this mean? Didn't Dish plead to the FCC to set the reserve price of 1.56 billion and promised to pay that if the FCC approved the 2000-2020 MHz spectrum to be supplemental downlink? Obviously they are well short so I assume Dish will need to pay the remaining balance to hit the 1.56 billion reserve price? http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/sprint-abandons-pursuit-h-block-spectrum-clearing-way-dish-bid/2013-11-13
  18. I wonder if the FCC met their 1.56 billion reserve price in this auction.
  19. Does anyone know how much money is Sprint expected to get back for all the licenses nationwide for the costs of BAS relocation?
  20. I think we all understand here at S4GRU that Verizon and AT&T are not starved for spectrum but you know they will raise hell when an announcement of a Sprint/Tmobile merger is announced because it does help bridge the gap and make them pretty competitive customers numbers wise to the Big 2 and not to mention that they will have a very competitive spectrum portfolio to produce 10x10 to 15x15 LTE carriers if they don't have PCS or AWS divestitures. Verizon and AT&T will file pleads to the FCC against this merger that Sprint has way too much spectrum (Sprint+ Clearwire+Tmobile/MetroPCS) in its portfolio especially because they will point to the fact that Sprint obtained 160 MHz during the Clearwire transaction. Now the FCC can choose to ultimately rule that the claims that Verizon and AT&T will have no merit but still that is going to prolong the process. Not to mention that Dish might be an arse by trying to bid for Tmobile to drive up the price.
  21. I didn't say that divesting EBS spectrum only would be enough to satisfy FCC but would be a good step in helping to create a 4th carrier. I would just imagine that Dish, Verizon and ATT will be throwing in their hat for "we are against this merger" and Dish probably could be bought off with EBS divestitures. What I was more eluding to in my previous post is how to appease Verizon and especially AT&T's oppositions to the merger. Believe me AT&T will not forget what Sprint's role was in the opposition of the AT&T/Tmobile merger in 2011 in what ultimately lead to the FCC decision to negate the AT&T/Tmobile merger.
  22. IIRC, Sprint had areas where they deployed 5 and 10 MHz bandwidths. Like Robert said the Clear name should be ending when Wimax is going to be shut down. The Netgear Zing is a triband LTE hotspot so you shouldn't be accessing the Wimax network since the hotspot doesn't have Wimax support. If you connect to B41 on your hotspot, then you must be connected to B41 LTE. Has Clearwire already reduced all Wimax carriers to 5 MHz? If so then bravo because the last thing we want to see is the Wimax network sucking up precious backhaul bandwidth that can be used for the LTE network.
  23. I would love to see Sprint divest most to all of its EBS to Dish that is not necessary. However that may satisfy Dish and part of the FCC concerns. I was just curious what your opinion is if these discussions become serious and Verizon and AT&T throwing a fit and throwing fuel into the fire. How should Verizon and AT&T be dealt with since most likely all they want is spectrum concessions? Tmobile will have to remain separate even if a transaction goes through until both companies can complete their LTE nationwide rollout. Sprint couldn't divest all of Tmobile's AWS spectrum anyways nor should they. I feel that AWS spectrum is still valuable for mid band.
