Sensorly - New market deployements
bollar replied to sensorly's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
Yes, that's how it works, When you check Field Test, only the LTE info is available and it appears to approximate the signal strength bars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Sensorly - New market deployements

We did some testing and we're almost certain it is LTE. The iPhone only has one antenna, so it makes sense that it can't measure 1x while connected to LTE. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Maybe the iOS solution is manual. Ask the user the number of bars and LTE/3G/. - seems kludgy, but would get better participation than a Cydia solution. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

EVO LTE on CM10 nightlies - LTE Data session issue
bollar replied to aparish21's topic in OS'es/ROM's & Themes
The iPhone certainly doesn't have this issue. I'm also not aware of any other data issues, aside from some users who have reported the phone has the wrong time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD -

Cool, thanks. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD -
Use RootMetrics. Your iOS speedtest data will be uploaded to their map. As others have noted, it won't indicate LTE, but this is the only service that accepts uploads from iPhones. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Sensorly - New market deployements

What's with the hostility? Sensorly for iOS is a -0- so obviously Android Sensorly is infinitely superior. Even so, everyday on this board, we have some iOS user trying to help out and asking why their speed test data isn't uploaded to Sensorly. Yeah, it's not the exact same data but still -- the iPhone 5 connects reliably to LTE and I think the data the iPhone can provide would be interesting to you analysts. In any event, Sensorly has indicated that it's not their priority, which is fine, and I appreciate the Android users who are doing the testing. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD -

Just do you can see the throughput yourself. IMO, Sensorly should collect the iPhone data from speed tests and use it to supplement Android data, but right now, RootMetrics is the only app to do that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I can get 5 bar LTE at the Ericsson HQ in Plano, but nowhere else in DFW or San Antonio. LTE must be coming! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Some have suggested that Ericsson has been having deployment difficulties. Is there anything to that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm happy to cut Sprint slack, but I think they would be better served to be more honest about the NV deployment. Not to harp on Dallas, but their coverage map is extremely aggressive. It in no way matches what's actually been reported by Sensorly users or my own observations. Heck, they even show coverage in areas that don't have towers. Anyway, if I hadn't found S4GRU and seen the deployment schedules and maps, I would have abandoned Sprint during the grace period and gone back to the devil company for a couple of years more.

The question is where are the crews coming from? Are they new contractors, or are they contractors diverted from an existing market? I am curious as Dallas has huge holes in their coverage - in reality, I have seen LTE in the wild only twice. Every other sighting was because I knew the tower location and setup a survey. At the current rate, I think it will be years before coverage matches Sprint's coverage map. I compare this to Houston, which has great LTE coverage pretty much everywhere I went this week. On the other hand, if crews are new, that's fantastic news! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

FYI, they have a new version out. It's just a little prettier, but I don't see much new functionality, aside from supporting the iPhone 5's screen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thoughts on bailing Sprint for Verizon San Diego?

This is the key advantage of buying the iPhone at the Apple Store. No problems with refunds and they will replace it in the first year for almost any reason. Though actually, even if you buy the iPhone elsewhere, you can still get support and exchanges at the Apple Store. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD -

The iPhone has a Sprint-branded removable SIM that does control LTE connections. If it's the card's fault, that can be replaced, but I'm skeptical that's the problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
