No. The only form of payment accepted for any Easy Pay transaction is a major credit card. Only customers getting the Note 4 on a 2 year contract can use the gift cards.

You can not use a Best Buy gift card on any part of an Easy Pay transaction. You would have to use your own money to pay the entire $250. There is something in Sprint's system that only allows payment to them for Easy Pay transactions. When you make the down payment it actually goes through as a bill payment to your account. This is unique to Sprint. This is not an issue with AT&T or Verizon.

Correct, Easy Pay payments (including tax due at activation) are processed on Sprint's behalf by Best Buy. Best Buy gift cards can not be used for those transactions, only a major credit card.

That's they key right there. If Sprint's current promotion wasn't working the others would not have wasted time reacting.

The Nexus 6/X has it's own thread here http://www.s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/6363-Nexus-X-talk-leaked?-(Motorola-Nexus-X)

Looking forward to all the blog comments about useless Sprint data speeds making it impossible to use the new data amounts.

I am most impressed with the quick responses the new Sprint is having to the competition. T-Mobile trade in promotion, the AT&T data doubling. Keep it up!

Unfortunately the rep you spoke with was uninformed. Best Buy can process Easy Pay activations for Framily. It will force a plan change at activation, but they just have to call NSS after the transaction to get added back to the Framily. It is a big 5 minute phone call.
