  1. When you're dealing with carrier aggregation you want to use #+# instead of #x# as #x# Is commonly used for paired FDD spectrum while TDD is just a single block of 20 MHz or what not which makes it easy to know that 20+20 is two 20 MHz carriers aggregated together.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding correctly. Would that make 3 aggregated 20Mhz carriers "20+20+20 MHz"?

I just noticed that your GCI is missing a digit. Maybe when you added the "0," it kicked one off? Should be market, tower, sector--0MMTTTSS

Uh oh. Not sure what happened there. I don't think the last digit got kicked off. Maybe iOS just formats it differently?

Is it normal for the B41 market ID to be different from the B25/26 market ID?

    B25/26 seems to be 20 (020)

Sprint B41 seems to be 34 (034). The 34 is always followed by a D (034D) so maybe that's a part of the Sector ID?

Also.. Clear B41 varies quite a bit. I haven't noticed a pattern between them at all.

EDIT: Man I need to proofread better.

  2. Honestly, we're a ways off from carrier aggregation. There's no reason to display the 1x, and it might get confusing. I think just 20mhz is fine. Maybe move the TDD next to it? The earliest we would see CA is September. Also, on the main app, I see that you made a dark mode which is great, but can you make the font larger? Great work.

It's not really a dark mode, just dark by default. But yeah I'll just make it 20 MHz.

Also I'll make the font size customizable because personally I prefer it small.

Very nice! I have a feature request (maybe it is already built in for if/when the jailbreak version gets out).

I find that the dBm levels on the status bar from Apple tend to not update very often and as a result display some very incorrect values at times. I love how you can set the refresh times in your app and I feel like it would be great to see those values displayed on the status bar instead! :D

I can just make the Apple-provided dBm/ signal dots update more frequently. That would probably be more accurate than my calculated dBm levels.

  3. I would love to see the settings moved to their own section, with the text being larger and on a black background with white text. It's kind of hard to see the gray/white section in the app.

I agree; I'll work on a "dark theme".

The app needs a lot of work. I've been mostly focused on optimizing the widget because iOS allocates a very small amount of CPU power and memory to it.

Is it too late to get in on this or do I need to wait for the next build release?

I'm interested, too. Let me know!

I'm planning to add new devices to the list once a day. You'll get an email when you're able to download it. :)

  4. I went through the international unlock department and was able to get my iPhone 5 unlocked for domestic carrier use. All told it was a frustrating experience and I had to go through a few reps, but in the end I'm super excited to finally get my old phone unlocked. For what it's worth the reps that I spoke with said it would only be for international use, but I popped in both a TMobile & Verizon SIM and both worked flawlessly:

Did you have to restore your iPhone? My 6+ is supposedly ISU'd but I can't use any other SIMs in it. I'd rather not restore because I value my jailbreak haha

  5. Yay!!!  :D

Oh how I have missed this data.  Thank you.  :tu:

Edit:  It is kinda neat to see just how infrequently and often times inaccurate the dBm levels are in the status bar provided by Apple in lieu of the dots.  I love being able to select the data refresh times.  Good call on 2 seconds - seems appropriate.

I don't trust my dBm levels for EVDO/eHRPD. It calculates them itself because the OS doesn't give a hard dBm value. LTE is exact though.

This app confirms what I have been thinking all along.  I can pretty much never get my phone to cycle from B25 to B26 without first going to 3G.  Hopefully a fix is in the works with a future OS update.

My phone does that all the time, might be an issue with your phone in particular.

Very cool!  Does the Notification Center widget refresh itself or is that only when I reswipe it down?

I assume the Show LTE Band is a jailbreak-only option?

There's a "Refresh Time" setting in the app, the widget uses that. It's 2 seconds by default. I'm working to have it refresh whenever the baseband reports new data.

Show LTE Band is jailbreak only, and it's proving to be a hard feature to implement. I'll see if I can get it done.

Im not jail broken and I can see t!

    This is awesome

The code for that feature isn't enabled, no way is that working for you. You can see "B25", "B26", or "B41" in your status bar instead of just "LTE"?

Does this distinguish between sprint b41 and clear b41? I forget if you managed to work that out.

Anyways! This is awesome. Thank you!

It's supposed to, but I've never seen it say Sprint B41 yet. Maybe one of you will.

ALSO: I don't believe the LTE bandwidth is reported correctly. I'm probably just interpreting the value from the baseband incorrectly.

  6. Alright uploaded the first build. Everyone that's included should've gotten another email, use that to download it. The icon is a work in progress sorry  :P

Oh, and for those of you who don't know, you can access the notification center widget by opening NC, pressing the "Edit" button at the bottom of the "Today" tab, and adding CellularInfo to your enabled widgets.

Also, just found out about this: anyone who I haven't added to the list can use this link to add yourself. From there I'll get a notification to add you to my developer account and then you'll be given access. Much easier on my side.

  7. "You're all set for now. As soon as a new build is ready for your device we'll send you an email letting you know.

The developer needs to add this devices UDID to a build."

    :tu::tu:

I'm just trying to get as many people included in this build as possible because to add new people I have to upload a new build. I'll upload soon.

  8. Alright. I can't be the only one with terrible battery life. I literally texted someone, put my phone down and when they responded a minute or two later my battery went from 31 to 29%. I just restored from stock and reset everything up and my battery life is still shit. What gives? No background refresh. No obnoxious screen brightness. Vibrate on unless I'm out and about and need my volume on. I've had my phone on and off the charger all day due to my battery dying so quickly.

Just after writing this I'm down to 26%.

You're definitely not the only one, iOS 8.1.3 is known to cause battery issues. Another reason to stay on 8.1.2 :P

  9. Bloop

Still working on it. The un-sandboxed (jailbreak) portions of it are proving to be harder than I thought they would be. Buuuut because I'm extremely busy right now, I'm willing to distribute it to individual devices. Basically just the Notification Center widget, no fancy features without root access. Anyone that wants to try it can just PM me their email and I'll get you set up.

  10. What is this or where is this?

DCA is the IATA for Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Is this the place you are trying to refer to?

Considering this is the DC market thread, I'm pretty sure he's referring to Reagan National Airport.
