  1. I do not think so, I think it will all depend on how many units sprint has to ship this week. My order says the same thing and I had my order in with two hours of going on sale.

I had mine in by 3:10AM (ET), got the confirmation at 3:14AM. It still says 4-6 weeks until arrival.

  2. This is normal for Sprint preorders. When I preordered the 5 two years ago, I finally got a tracking number on Thursday afternoon and the phone showed up Friday.

But when you ordered, what was the expected arrival?

  3. Most corp stores won't do it either. Best way is telesales/online.

Gonna try my luck for a reservation at another corporate store tomorrow. I really don't want to wait until October, I want to sell this ip5 before it loses the little value it has.

Does anyone know if the corp stores will give me a reservation for the 19th if I have an online preorder already?

  4. Has anyone heard if Sprint even got any 6+? Looks like just Apple stores are gonna get them.

Sprint stores will have a couple 6+ each. it won't be very many. I would suggest going to an apple store if you really want to get one on the 19th.

  5. Good luck.

I ordered my 6 at a sprint corporate store. They wanted to put it on ship to store. I specifically caught it and changed to direct ship. Weird. HOwever, i haven't gotten and email about the order number or anything. Only my receipt.

Edit: Another weird thing is that Sprint.com does not show that I upgraded my line. I have another upgrade available. I sold my 5 into the store and had a remaining credit on the transaction and applied toward my balance. The credit is showing so I would have thought that the upgrade would have gone away?

Your upgrade will disappear a couple days after you activate the new phone.

  6. Apple won't do anything for Framily plans either. And both Sprint Stores I called don't have lists, they are just doing Direct Ship with a 3-4 week wait time currently.

The worst part is that I'm pretty sure only Sprint corporate stores can do anything with my plan. I have a friend that knows the owner of a Sprint affiliate store and he offered to get me put on their reservation list at #3 or #4 but I don't want to cancel my preorder only to be unable to get it at the store too. By the way, has anyone with an EPRP account tried to upgrade at an afilliate store? I know for sure that best buy and walmart can't do it.

  7. I'm hoping to get one by freak chance at the store on Friday. If not, I'll order mine for direct ship to store, and I'll get it when I get it.

Called the sprint store near me, they told me the reservation list was "full". I would go to one of the Apple stores, but Apple refuses to do anything with my plan because it's an employee referral plan.

Looks like I'm stuck with the preorder. :(

  8. orders are already shipping and expected arrival is the 19th. Are you talking about the 6+?

Yes, the 6+. I ordered on the 12th right when the store opened and my expected arrival is late September to mid October.

  9. I know this sounds bizarre, but as of yesterday, my Easy Pay upgrade date was bumped up to November 1st. Uh, I guess it'll be November before I can get my iPhone 6 Plus. Hopefully they'll have plenty in stock by then. :(

Well considering even the preorders aren't going to arrive until November, you shouldn't be too late to the party. :P

  10. Wait wait wait. They're going to force us to change plans when I upgrade to a 6+. I thought that wasn't something Sprint was doing? Or has that changed in the past couple months?

EDIT: Ok it looks like it's a problem with the Sprint website. Whenever I attempt to change the payment selection from EasyPay to 2 year agreement, it doesn't change. I got scared there for a second.

  11. It is easily worth 200 dollars to me to not be on contract with Sprint. I have no desire to be locked with them for two more years, but need an LTE phone to actually see what the service is like. Since this cost almost the same as the iphone I would have bought on contract. This is a no brainer. I can try out the service and phone for an extended period and if I am unhappy, I can

    1) sell the phone and move to another carrier

    2) keep the phone and move to another carrier

    3) sell the phone in 10 months when the iphone 6 comes out which will almost certainly be big screen and triband

4)keep the phone and get an iphone 5s with upgrade and sell it at a significant profit.

    5) keep the phone and stay on Sprint

It's worth it to me to have that flexibility. I understand it isn't to everyone, but it is to me.

Sorry to destroy your dreams, but there is no way the iPhone 6 will be anywhere near as "big screen" as the Nexus 5. Which is, by the way, almost 4.95" I think.

  12. I think the OP was just saying Verizon's EDGE is funny because a large portion of its network is EDGE then the next guy thought he was dissing T-Mobile and now it's some kind of, as AJ would call it, e-penis contest.

Verizon is a CDMA network? EDGE? What? Most of Verizon's network is LTE...

  13. So what are the options for "cool geeky telephony apps" on jailbroken IOS?  And it's still early yet.  We don't have a final release of IOS 7 so it remains to be seen if more features or hidden features will be unveiled in the API.

It's possible, but I highly doubt it. I don't see why they would give the Cell ID, but not the band.  :pinch:

  14. So I'm looking through the new iOS 7 headers, and my eyes catch a framework I've never really looked through before- CoreTelephony. I've read here on S4GRU that Apple would be opening CoreTelephony up and allow access to more information about the cellular connection. I've been thinking about making a SignalCheck-like app for iOS, and I realized CoreTelephony is what I've been looking for. But all they give access to is the signal strength (in bars -_-), the technology (EVDO, LTE, 1X), and surprisingly, the cell id. No RSRP or anything. No band or frequency of the connection. Huge let down.

So, my only option would be to use the private APIs and release it on Cydia, but planetbeing already has that covered with Signal and Signal 2. :(

Thoughts? Opinions? I know it's minor, but this'll kill more time until more 4G LTE is rolled out on all bands. :P

    Why is 1X-A above 1900 LTE? O.o

  16. Ha. I want to go to the Apple store to replace my phone because the power button isn't working either... But I don't want to lose my jailbreak. I'm pretty sure the newer phones come with at least 6.1.3.
Mine came with 6.1.4. My old phone was on iOS 7 anyway. I didn't tell the tech (you're welcome digi), and he came back and said "I don't know how you got iOS 7, and I'm not going to ask, but I am inclined to tell you that you will not be able to restore your backup without doing whatever you did to get iOS 7 again, because iOS 7 is beta software and has not been released." I thought to myself "Tell me something I don't know." :P

Refurbishment is always done from a remote location. A store can do field repairs on some hardware, but that is limited. The stores do not have all of the equipment, applications, and training to fully refurbish a damaged device back to factory-new condition. This isn't specific for iPhones, that goes for just about any phone. Most of the parts are simply too small or fragile to work on in the field.

Actually, they do some repairs in the store. More complicated repairs are shipped to regional facilities and are repaired and wiped there, then distributed to stores.
EDIT: I failed that multi-quote. Ignore my previous post.

  18. To be fair, Samsung GS3/4 (and Note 2) have fabulous cell reception! My Note 2 handily beats my iPhone 5 in my house (both on same carrier). iPhone 5 has to rely on Sprint Airave to get signal...my Note 2 does not. LTE and Wifi reception also beats iP5.

So, with each, you win some, you lose some. For me, I like to have good cell signal because my phone is also my work phone and pager. I am really hoping that iP5S will have some upgrades to its antennas.

These are my personal testing at my house...not sure what you guys have found in scientific testing.

(BTW, I also found that Otterbox Defender improves iP5 cell signal significantly! Weird...)

My Defender was weakening my RF. I took it off, and lo and behold- I now have a 2-dot LTE signal in my house! I ordered a new case, should come tomorrow. :)

EDIT: If (and only if) the 5S is triband on Sprint, I'll sell my 5 and buy it. If not, I'm waiting for my upgrade and switching to the dark side. :P
