Emails should have been sent out a couple minutes ago. Everyone who was waiting for their UDID to be added should now be able to download using the newest email or the "Beta" app on your home screen.
Also, thanks to everyone who contributed to get me to the Premier Sponsor level, I really appreciate it!

He would need any 15x15 and 20x20 to get the reading. Unfortunately, I think unless you have the source code or access to the underlying core telephony files, you wouldn't be able to see the right measurement. Only Nahum has that right now.

Well this is what betas are for! Uploading now.Yeah, I don't speak in source code or core telephony files....I probably can't help.

Those numbers may work for those situations, but you should gather data from a 15x15 T-Mobile and a 20x20 T-Mobile/Verizon just to see if a pattern follows.

Trying to get a T-Mo wideband signal as we speak. No luck so far. I might just have to upload this version as many people are waiting to be able to download it.

This may work.
25BW / 5MHz = 5
50BW / 10MHz = 5
100BW / 20MHz = 5
20 minutes trying to figure it out and I wasn't able to come up with that. Seems to be right, thanks!

Alright, I hope someone can help me understand these bandwidth numbers.
On Sprint B25 and B26, it reports the bandwidth as "25".
On Sprint B41 it reports "100".
On Verizon B13 it reports "50".
On T-Mobile B4 it also reports "50".
Currently I'm just taking the square root of these numbers, and that's what's displayed (that's why 7 x 7 is shown for VZW and T-Mo 10x10). Any ideas on how else to interpret these numbers?

Thanks! I now have my newly unlocked old iPhone 5 that I can use for testing Verizon, so I'll try to resolve the bandwidth issue (as well as the inconsistent Cell IDs) this weekend.(img)
Hope this helps...

Will do. I could use that space for the PCI, or I could combine it with the GCI line. Depends on how much new info I can dig up from the undocumented depths of the iOS CoreTelephony framework.I almost think there's repetitive information on this app. I think you could combine a few lines to have less clutter. Like this:
LTE: Band 26
RSRP: -100 dbm
Type (or Connection): FDD 5x5 MHz
UARFCN: 8763
It basically could eliminate the "BW:" line. Thoughts?

Congratulations!I just updated to the new beta. It is working great on my end. My wife and I just had a baby boy, so it has taken me a little while to get caught up.
So far so good! Keep up the great work!

In case anyone was wondering, these betas have do an expiration date. They should work fully until late August when my developer account expires.I'm loving this app! It's so great to have easy access to the LTE band I'm connected to while B41 is making it to more and more towers. Unfortunately jailbreaking isn't an option for me and I'll sorely miss this app when you graduate from deploying on a beta platform to Cydia or the likes. I hope someday Apple allows 3rd party developers access these API's and an app like this can exist in the App Store.

Anyone else having issues with their phone randomly turning off?? It's happened to me at 76%, 42%, and 39% (battery). I've restored 3 times trying to fix this, first to 8.1.2 a couple weeks ago, then to 8.3b3 earlier this week, and today to 8.1.3. When I try to turn it back on after it randomly shuts off, it doesn't do anything, but it turns on when I plug it in (and when it boots up, battery percentage hasn't changed). I just scheduled a Genius Bar appointment, hopefully my replacement is miraculously on 8.1.2.
Even if it's not, 8.2 betas 2&3 are jailbreakable so I can jump onto that and continue CellularInfo jailbreak development.

Didn't even think of that, good idea. Shouldn't be hard to find as long as it's shown in field test.Just wanted to say thanks. I love the beta app. Do you have plans to add the physical cell Id to the app?
I'm not sure what's going on with the GCI. Right now I'm on B25 and it's showing 7 digits, but I've also noticed it show 7 on B41 (both sprint and clear). I'm just going to look for an alternate source for the GCI.Has an issue of Clear 41 missing a "0" been addressed here? If not, here's a screenshot. Sprint 25/26/41 is showing the full GCI

I started this with a UI that fits the 6/6+ screen size so it was extremely easy. Some apps have complicated UIs and they're completely redesigning them for the 6/6+, which is why they're taking so long.Just out of curiosity, how hard was it for you to make this app iPhone 6/6+ compatible? I'm just wondering why, after 5 months, many billion dollar corporations have not even attempted to update their apps for the new screen size. It's getting annoying.

Thanks for the support!Just wanted to chime in to say congrats on the beta release and keep up the great work, nahum! I know how hard it is to get something like this off the ground, but it's worth the satisfaction you'll get from the positive e-mails.
I'll look into signing up for the beta shortly, wife has an iPhone 5s and I can compare data with my Android devices that I know are showing valid info.. I'm in a very mature market with lots of Sprint and Clearwire sites broadcasting all sorts of LTEness.

Just an observation. With your recent inclusion of 1x tracking, I have noticed that it shows 1x and EVDO/eHRPD with the same dBm levels at all times, even when I'm on Band Class 10. Just wanted to point that out.
-Anthony
So that wasn't just me. Good to know, I'll fix that soon.
Also, something changed in CoreTelephony in 8.3 beta. The API I use to grab the data returns "NULL". I don't think there's anyone included in the CellularInfo beta that's on 8.3, just wanted to warn everyone in case they were considering updating to any beta versions of iOS.

Well that's... impossible. Apparently I don't have FDD bandwidth calculations completely correct either. Plus, it doesn't work at all on 8.3 beta. This still needs lots of work.I have it running on Verizon, it is currently showing LTE Band 13 as 7x7.

Almost definitely 3G only at those prices. That takes all the appeal of a Verizon MVNO away, it's essentially equal to Virgin Mobile but slightly more expensive for those not in extremely rural areas.
Possibly going to be marketed towards older people who don't need data? The $25 unlimited talk/text plan does support smartphones. Good for older people who don't leave the house much but want a smartphone.

The thing is, when you control every aspect of the system, you're allowed to make up rules as you go. Those apps use an API that was created by Apple specifically to allow developers to open other applications from their own apps ("URL Schemes" + UIApplication's openURL method). Those widgets literally just opened URLs. You can even try it for yourself: go into Safari and navigate to "instagram://" or "twitter://". Apparently opening URLs is now a violation of App Store "guidelines". And by guidelines they mean strict boundaries that change constantly. It doesn't make sense, but I guess that's what Apple is known for lol.Lol I'm gonna take over Apple and become it's CEO. Gimme 10 Years lol I'll change the App Store Review process for all the developers who genuinely care and want to make Apps that people will love and use.
You guys ever heard about the App called Launcher or Quick-Tap. Apple took these Apps out of the App Store because they apparently violated Apples App protocols but it wasn't written anywhere that you couldn't put widgets that open other apps in the App store. Apple is just an extreme control freak. It never affected me until I downloaded launcher and quick tap and found that they're function is very very useful.
Here's my Notification Center with Launcher and Quick-Tap.

CellularInfo is powered by some private APIs in the CoreTelephony framework. They can be accessed rather easily from any iOS app. However, apps that access private APIs won't pass the Apple App Store Review process. So if I attempted to submit CellularInfo to the App Store right now, it would get rejected instantly.Wait so you're making both a JB version and a non JB version. I thought the reason we didn't have a signal check app on iOS was because Apple didn't give access to that kinda info, am I wrong?
Sent from my shiny Space Grey iPhone 6 using Tapatalk 3.2.1
That's why I'm currently distributing it as a "beta" app using my 100 developer device registrations. That way I can get it on devices without going through the App Store review process.
So, in short: the current beta of CellularInfo is the "non-JB" version. I can't make a "final non-JB" version.

The beta is as close to a non-JB version as I can get unfortunately. I was just making sure everyone knew I wasn't abandoning the full jailbreak app.I may have missed something, but does this mean you're creating a non-JB version as well? All of my devices are already upgraded to 8.1.3, so no JB for me, and the beta version you put together is awesome and has everything I need.

As soon as I can figure out why it crashes Snapchat and Instagram lolOooo when do we get access to this??

Always good to hear.I haven't noticed a single thing wrong with either beta. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough. In any case, it's been rock solid stable, wish I had more to report!

What features will be there that we don't have.
(Quoted from http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/6407-iphone-6-and-iphone-6-plus-user-thread/?p=404044 to prevent derailing that thread.)
The jailbreak features I have planned include status bar info like so:
(Sorry for image size)
This also makes the status bar signal strength display more accurate.
Root access also allows you to use the "Reset Data Connection" button in the Settings tab of the app.
LTE connection logging with locations is also on my list but I'm not sure when I'll get time to implement that.

Battery Usage Update
[insanely sized picture]
This is awesome lol.
Sent from my shiny Space Grey iPhone 6 using Tapatalk 3.2.1
You on the 8.3 betas? My phone is glitching all over the place and I got 3 hours of battery usage today, even with all jailbreak packages besides Cydia removed. It might be time to leave the jailbreak behind and jump onto 8.3. The restore should also unlock my phone if Sprint actually followed through with what they said.
For anyone that's waiting on the CellularInfo jailbreak features: don't worry I have a spare jailbroken iPhone 5 that I use to test CellularInfo.

That's a limitation in the iOS SDK, I don't believe third party apps can control audio output. Apple Maps has this option if you're willing to go that route. Pun not intendedAnybody know how to stop Google maps voice directions from playing thought my vehicle's Bluetooth? I know the obvious, turn off Bluetooth. But I was hoping to just use Bluetooth for phone calls.

I must be tired. The app no longer displays "No Data Connection" when there's no data. That's a huge oversight, my bad. I'll update again sometime tomorrow with the fix for that. The widget works fine in the mean time.

Well so much for Apple's amazing customer service. Walked in 10 minutes late after a bit of traffic and was informed that my appointment had been cancelled and they couldn't accommodate me until Monday at the earliest. 10 minutes.
