  1. I think am going to be much poorer in the coming weeks. At least the nexus player is only $100.
  2. 650 is kind of a shock, i was expecing 500 or 550, but at least it is comging 32 and 64 gig now. still, 650 beats 850 for 64g iphone 6+
  3. the nexus 5 is still going to be available, does not specify new hardware, but probably new hardware revision, looks like a couple new colors too https://www.google.com/nexus/5/
  4. google.com/nexus for more details on availability.
  5. Huh, this is confusing on the sprint nexus 6 page; Android™ 5.0 L Rock your music right on the Sharp AQUOS Crystal, with Harman Kardon sound and patented Clari-Fi™ technology. It restores compressed digital music to its full glory for crisper, wider and more dynamic audio through your headphones or accessories. With LiveStage™, you'll get a lifelike in-ear experience and rich surround sound – it feels like you're right there at the show. And you won't believe your eyes when you see the super-sharp photos and videos that this 8MP camera delivers on the 5-inch HD edgeless screen.

  7. Every time I see the door sign above, all I can think of is "Vanilla Ice cruising in his 5.0 with the rag top down so his hair can blow."
  8. I don't know, it must be the huge influx of iphones, but my speeds and reliability have been going down so far this oct.
  9. does anyone remember the dell streak phone? it was humongous, got my dad one a long time ago when they had a fire sale. it was close to the nexus 7 size.
  10. it is confusing, but there are 2 completely different 'lte modes'. One is the one you refer to with global/lte/3g, the other is in the advanced settings which require your MSL and dialer code to access (LTE ONLY). the standard lte/global does not affect SMS, where setting the advanced LTE ONLY can affect sms and calls.
  11. uh signal checks ability to determine b41 is still under development, meaning the only 100% accurate way is the engineering screen. but you can usually determine b41 on your own by paying attention to the GCI and how it differs from the b25/26 gci.
  12. I suspect there are too many differences in propagation characteristics between the bands to make much difference. besides the fact, even if it were possible, it would be wasting double or triple the spectrum per user (ie now a user would be using both b26 and b25, instead of only b26 or only b25).
  13. my experience with lte mode only, appears to force the device to DATA ONLY, which blocks the sms tunneling/signalling available when lte/3g mode is enabled.
  14. My belief is the nexus 5 scan time is directly related to non-ecsfb towers in the area. If I go to a non-lte/low/no signal area, when I return to an lte coverage the nexus 5 will normally pick up lte right away. It is when the n5 is 'forced' to 3g (in the middle of known lte areas) that it gets stuck and won't go back to lte without either an airplane mode toggle or an extremely long time. It is either ecsfb, or some other n5 specific issue with some combination of mixed b25/26/41, or even potentially a market/equipment issue (whatever stlouis lte equipment is being used).
  15. I haven't read the whole thread, so this may already be known but... https://samsunggalaxypromotions.com/note4/
  16. if you were out of a sprint lte area and your battery went kaput from constant 2 minutes scans, perhaps you would change your mind, or not.
  17. I don't think manual would be necessary if the timer went something like; 10 seconds > 15 > 30 > 60 > 120 > 240 > 300 (5 minutes max rescan)
  18. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exponential_backoff it would be great if google/LG could get the memo.
  19. I think every time they upgrade a tower in the vicinity of other towers that were already upgraded and stable, it causes a disturbance in the force. As if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
  20. you should definately review the new york thread, that is where you will find the most appropriate information and feedback.
  21. yeah uh its not permanent if you re-open the field test mode as he asked. you have to re-do the powerbutton then home button thing every time, and even then it does not always stick.
