  1. Expand into PA! I don't have any cable or DSL here, and the local WISP doesn't reach here.
  2. Also, those maps on Sprint.com don't really mean anything. They show info that's up to 6 months old, and some still show upgrades to the legacy network.
  3. Yup, that's exactly it. "3G accepted" just means it's ready and checked by contractors. Doesn't necessarily mean it's live. In NEPA they are using Samsung - those markets had Motorola legacy equipment which don't work nicely with the new Samsung stuff. So they are turning them on in clusters to prevent tons of dropped calls and other issues.
  4. I saw it! Nice to finally since some purples in the "610" (or 484 for many cell phones).
  5. DSL may be a "dead" technology, but there are millions of people in rural parts of the country who might never get anything else besides DSL or something like LTE. The state of PA has legislation requiring every ILEC in PA to provide DSL by 12/31/2015. It claims PA has the 3rd highest rural population in the country. Where I live, about 20 miles from Allentown, we have nothing - no cable, no DSL. The local cable company won't be expanding to my street, so we are waiting for DSL. Supposed to be deployed by October 2014. Verizon has to follow strict timetables outlined by the legislation that was passed. So, even though it might be a "dead" technology, I think it's all some people will ever get. I know quite a few people who have Verizon DSL because they get it bundled with their Directv service.
  6. I took a class in Python in college, and two of my roommates were CS majors...I've heard my fair share of programming jokes!
  7. In Sprint's defense, there is *sometimes* a page on the front of Sprint.com that explains NV in "simple" terms. But it's at the bottom and probably not clicked on by a lot. Plus, that ridiculous map of "data speed upgrades." In some regards, I think it would be fun to work at a Sprint store. But then I realize how much nonsense and ignorance I'd have to deal with from the ubiquitous general public.
  8. It IS an aggressive roll out. Especially in some areas that never even had EVDO to begin with. They're doing everything at once. And, with today's news that every site will get 2.5ghz....that's really something.
  9. For some reason, I decided to check out the forms on Sprint.com. Holy cow. I can't stand the general public who know little to nothing about anything and think it's just as easy as "flipping a switch" to roll out an upgrade to 38,000+ sites. A few years ago, I used to enjoy reading Buzzaboutwireless.com - reminded me a lot of S4GRU. But now, it's just filled with people complaining about how awful Sprint is. smh...
  10. How about English's Fried Chicken from Ocean City, MD? That's fairly close to Jersey, and NYC (and PA!)...closer than NM, anyway! They sell the chicken also in Salisbury, MD on Route 13. Not to get it derailed ... I'mm wondering if the Lehigh Valley/Allentown PA is a "big enough city" to get any LTE 2600. We never got Wimax, so there aren't any current Clear sites here.
  11. I got this email from Wirefly today: Thank you for contacting our Customer Service Department. Unfortunately, your personal information cannot be validated to pass our potential fraud screenings. In order to protect your personal information, we have cancelled the order and are unable to reinstate it at this time. We use several criteria to evaluate every order. The information in your order did not pass our screening process so we are unable to complete your order. Unfortunately, for this reason, I am unable to reinstate your order. We have not applied any charges to your credit card. We valued your business with us, we regret to lose you as a customer at this time. Sincerely, Nishi Secure Verify Team
  12. Ok, so it's only contingent upon Wimax being turned off. I gotcha now.
  13. I'm in the middle of a 2-year contract with the 12GB plan. I was going to swap the new one out for my current one.
  14. So, they probably won't do anything now? I'm in the Philadelphia market. Maybe once they announce Philadelphia live with LTE (tomorrow!) it would be different?
  15. Not ALL of them, though, since some people actually received them!
  16. I called to ask about this, of course I had to talk to Telesales, which is still apparently out sourced, and it was hard to understand. But they seemed to say that since I don't have Wimax available at my home, that it doesn't apply to me. But I don't see why that matters- what if I commute to an area with Wimax everyday?
  17. So, now that the deal is complete, what does that mean for this policy? Can I get a free LTE hotspot to replace my Wimax hotspot? I have 1 year left on the contract.
  18. I think they lie and don't really know anything...ha. I bet we'll have a lot more LTE in the LV in just a few weeks, if they keep up with the current rate.
  19. Looks like LTE is live on 329 in Northampton, 22 & Airport Road, 33 & 248! Drove through Bally on Route 100 last night - got anywhere from 6 - 11 Mbps down. Awesome!
  20. Saw an ad for a new service today in my local newspaper: AT&T Wireless Home Phone and Internet. http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/devices/internethomephone.html#fbid=rDuoUjiX-DC Verizon has a similar offering, Home fusion Broadband I think they call it. AT&T appears to have separate plans for their service, Verizon offers the same data plans as their share plans. I wonder if Sprint will come out with a similar service after NV is complete. For people like me, with no cable or DSL broadband available, 4G LTE is the up-and-coming option, but with data caps it's limited in some ways. The AT&T plan offered with this is fairly reasonable, you can have 20GB for $90. Although, it appears they require you to also switch to using it as your home phone also.
  21. My current Mifi 4082 has an RSSI of -82 dbm in its current location (attached to the wall where the signal is best.) When I place my phone next to it, in the same spot, it has an RSSI of -109 dbm. (These are EVDO). I can never figure out it! Hotspots must have way better antennas.
  22. TMI said I "failed to pass a security clearance required to validate the order" - but they refused to tell me what that was. They don't disclose it to customers. ??? Conveniently, the supervisor on duty had "stepped out" for the moment. What a crock and a terrible company.
