  1. The N5 on LTE only mode I assume? I switched back to my G2 for a comparison of B25 and B26 with my N5 on the .13 radio. As I expected, the G2 is probably about the same now on B25 and a little better on B26. A bit of a shame, the N5 was so strong on B26 with the .15 radio.
  2. I am talking about these 3: M8974A-1.0.25.0.12 M8974A-1.0.25.0.13 M8974A-1.0.25.0.15 I thought none of these were ever "officially" released. I know this is the new one: M8974A-2.0.50.1.13 There was an "old" .13 and then also the "new" .13.
  3. I have a question for those of you that frequently visit XDA. If I recall correctly, the .15 radio for the N5 was never officially released, correct? Didn't the N5 come out of the box with .17? How did we end up getting the .12, .13 (old one, not 2.xxxx), and .15 radios on XDA? I only ask because I am wondering if via a leak or anything like that, if we could end up getting one of the other radios they had tested before the new .13 radio.
  4. I am hoping that they are announcing LTE roaming... Particularly with USCC - treated as native coverage. Oh please make my dream come true.
  5. My biggest gripe is that B26 was great on the .15 radio, but on the .13 radio B26 took a HUGE hit. I have been flashing back and forth and logging differences, and I can say that in my area B26 took a hit of about 5-8 dBm which really does make a difference in coverage. It makes it so I don't get LTE for about 8 miles of my daily commute, where I get LTE for all but a mile or two with the .15 radio (lots of -110-118 B26 connections that still work just fine). I can deal with the decreased performance on B25 as the .15 radio did tend to hold on to it a little too long. I was able to get a very useable connection on it with a -118-122 signal so I wish they just kept B26 configured how it was. By the way, I live and work in areas with B26 everywhere (and without any eCSFB issues). The .13 radio offers less LTE coverage than the G2 I switched from. The nice thing about being a N5 owner is that we have options for our radio. So while this may seem like a rant or that I don't like the device, that is not the case. I still love this device, and I will hold out hope that the next radio bumps up performance on B26.
  6. That's Verizon's version. And do you have a source? Couldn't find anything stating the same thing on Google.
  7. Yeah, that is just it. Even with the radio performing worse than before, it is still pretty much on par or a little bit better than most devices. We were just spoiled before. I would say with the new .13 radio the N5 is about on par with the G2 for B25 and B26. No B41 around here for me to test, but from what I have heard the G2 beats the N5 pretty easily. Unless we get a new radio at some point, I will probably re-activate my G2 once B41 starts popping up around here. Still nice to be able to easily go back to the .15 radio if I am in a dead spot. Takes a minute and then I have a useable signal if needed. In my testing, B26 on the .13 radio is pretty much equal to B25 on the .15 radio! I said this before, but I wish they would've been able to keep B25 performance around where it is (and was on the .23 radio) and also have kept B26 performance where it was on the .15 radio. Would've been an absolute beast of a performer.
  8. Should be showing B41-1, B25-2, B26-3.
  9. I don't like to spam speed tests or anything. I only really do them when things change for comparisons sake. Premier sponsors check out a post I made in our Milwaukee Premier market thread: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5823-milwaukee-market-including-madison-premier-thread/?p=324175 Shows the differences I am experiencing with the new radio on the N5. I didn't want to post two of the exact same posts with the attachments so head on over to check it out. (and feel free to look at the progress in our market! )
  10. I could never get B26 on the .23 radio. The .15 radio gave me all of the benefits of B26. The switching between bands was perfect. Switching from B26 site to B26 site was flawless. The ONLY couple things I didn't like about the .15 modem was that it would tend to stay on B25 a little bit too long, and I couldn't get B41. Going to give this modem a fair chance though. I will admit that I am pulling in pretty good speeds and useability on fringe signals. I just wish that the B25 performance was like the .23 radio (which it appears so), while the B26 performance was like the .15 radio. But you can't always get what you want!
  11. Updating the Nexus Field Test app fixes the error.
  12. I want to admit this isn't scientific or anything, but yesterday I took readings at different places on my desk and left post-it notes so I would be able to put the phone in the exact same spot today. Same tower from the same sector. (Yes, that big of a wireless nerd now... thanks to this site) Here are my findings: .15 Radio Spot #1 .23 Radio Spot #1 .13 Radio Spot #1 B25 - 108-109 B25 - 113-115 B25 - 110-114 B26 - 101-103 B26 - N/A B26 - 105-107 .15 Radio Spot #2 .23 Radio Spot #2 .13 Radio Spot #2 B25 - 107-108 B25 - 113-114 B25 - 112-113 B26 - 100-103 B26 - N/A B26 - 105-106 .15 Radio Spot #3 .23 Radio Spot #3 .13 Radio Spot #3 B25 - 103-104 B25 - 110-111 B25 - 109-112 B26 - 99-100 B26 - N/A B26 - 104-105 Sorry if the formatting goes crazy... Tried putting in an HTML table, but I don't have that option on here? Worked fine in my Premier thread...
  13. I get the same error... Never really used that app though since I know the dialer codes. Weird.
  14. My initial impressions aren't very good with this modem. B25 is much worse. Probably a few dBm worse than the .23 radio - maybe more. B26 is also worse than the .15 radio. Completely losing LTE in areas I used to have a very usable signal. I read a few forums where some users were getting much better reception off this update... Looks like Sprint got the shaft again. I will probably give the modem a couple days, but I think I will end up going back to the .15 radio since there isn't any B41 around here. Oh well... Edit - Also when comparing to my G2, this modem puts the N5 behind the G2... One of the biggest reasons I bought a N5 was for the LTE connectivity. Again, thankfully we can still go back to older modems. I just wish we had a Spark ready modem at least close to the .15 modem's performance.
  15. Has anyone that fastboot flashed the boot, radio, and system images also re-installed Xposed afterwords? Wondering if it is save to do... Edit - Works fine!
  16. I looked at XDA to see at what time of the day the last two (4.4.1 and 4.4.2) zips were posted. Looks like they were both available around 3 PM central time. I want to stop mashing the "Check Now" button, but I don't think I have it in me...
  17. Hoping it is true and hoping for a happy medium between the .15 radio and the .23 radio.
  18. Link? I brought my USB cord with me to work today just in case. Edit: Nevermind. Simple Google search found it.
  19. Haven't noticed anything different here. The same of slightly better speeds and latency actually. I spend most of my time downtown and on the west side though.
  20. Well something has to be the cause. On my N5 with the 513 PRL, I have no issues connecting to EVDO or eHRPD while on 1x800. Same phone, same PRL, but different results with connectivity... Has to be something different. You two were the first two I have seen with that issue and you both live in Florida.
  21. I am thinking it could be market dependent, if that is even possible. I live in a Samsung market with the 513 PRL flashed, and I have never had an issue connecting to eHRPD or EVDO. If I am not on LTE, which is rare nowadays, I am always on 1x800 and eHRPD.
  22. Ahh, well here's the link, Click Here, for the thread. At least you can see what other confirmed upgrades some of us have found.
  23. We have all pretty much been in the Milwaukee Premier Thread lately. Although, even that has slowed down a bit. Do you still have the Note 2 or have you upgraded to a Tri-band device?
  24. In your engineering screens does it show you as connected to LTE? That is pretty weird... Maybe it glitched out in the transition between the two?
  25. This --- I know USCC has been deploying 850 LTE over their 700 LTE sites for iPhone support, so the compatibility is there. I would absolutely love to hear an announcement about the LTE deal between these two. It would vastly improve the coverage in my area. Southern Wisconsin is pretty much a USCC stronghold too, so I doubt USCC customers would use any of Sprint's bandwidth here. Would be a win, win situation for me.
