  1. I had the same thing happen once on my Nexus 5. I then restarted my phone and the battery usage went back to normal (1%ish), and I always have the Site Logger feature turned on. I never use the Location Service though.
  2. I feel like a teenager again waiting for the first day of summer *clears throat* I mean waiting for Robert's return!
  3. But...but... I want it now! Honestly, I don't mind the wait. There isn't any B41 around here, and since I was able to get B26 working with the .15 radio I don't have any complaints. I am a little bit scared that the RF performance might not be as good with the update since they went a little backwards with the .23 radio.
  4. Only took him/her about 2 minutes to get the device name in focus.
  5. Looks like they tweaked the page a bit and as a result have some invalid data on there. The most current software is KOT49H, not KRT49H.
  6. Yeah, honestly the difference between the G2 and the N5 on the stock .23 radio is probably right around 5 dBm like you said. It is when you flash either the .15 or .17 radio, that adds another 5-10 dBm to the already good .23 radio, that things get ridiculous. I live on the edge of Sprint's native coverage, so any extra boost really helps.
  7. So I have had the N5 for a little while now, and I thought I would share some more impressions. (Late to the party, but might still be helpful to someone else) First of all... if you think Sprints LTE network sucks and live in an area with LTE, this device is a must. Honestly a night and day difference between this and the G2. In some areas where I would roam with the G2, I can pick up a useable B25 signal with my N5. However, to get this amazing performance, flash the .15 radio! Don't get me wrong, the .23 radio is still probably better than any other Sprint device for LTE RF performance, but the .15 is just incredible (if you live in an area that is mature with LTE and eCSFB, otherwise flash the .17 radio). B26 comparisons --- I want to begin with the fact that the N5's B25 coverage is BETTER than I got with my G2 on B26 (and yes I live and work in areas with plenty of live B26 sites). The N5 blows away the G2 on B26 too. Easily 8-10 dBm better. For my daily commute, I drive roughly 18 miles between sites (A pretty sizable gap). With my G2, I would roam and have LTE cut out for the majority of the trip. Rough estimate - I would go without LTE for approximately 12-14 miles of the trip. About 4 or 5 miles of the trip would be spent roaming through USCC. Now with the N5, I get LTE for all but probably 2-3 miles! Battery life --- Of course a bit worse than the G2. But I have a car charger and tons of extra USB cables so I never have an issue keeping this charged. I typically get 4-5 hours of SOT and a days use. Plenty for me since I am never too far away from a charger. I feel like Sprint reps should be pushing this device (even though it isn't the "new" thing anymore). With this device, you finally can see what the Sprint network is capable of. I will admit that with my G2 I was a little irritated from time to time with the network, but now my opinion has completely changed thanks to this device.
  8. I only get B26 when I am out of range of B25 and since the N5 is such a great RF performer I don't run into as much B26 as I did with my G2. Have you checked your SignalCheck logs? You may have come across it briefly without knowing.
  9. I switched from a G2 to the N5 last week. Looks as though you are as well. I hope you enjoy the RF performance as much as I do. For even better performance, flash the .15 radio. I get a better B25 signal with it on the N5 than I was able to get from my G2 on B26 sites.
  10. It shouldn't be switching to 3G that early... Unless the network itself is switching you over to 3G from an overburdened 4G site. My N5 stays on 4G till about -125 RSRP, but I am also on the .15 radio.
  11. I just scooped up a N5 this week and the RF performance is amazing. Also, if you want even better performance flash the .15 radio... Unbelievable. I'm pretty sure I have seen a few people on here with the N5 in the Atlanta area without any problems. As hard as it may be to believe, it HAS to be the device. What are the odds of 2 bum devices? Low as hell, but it is the only thing that makes sense. Or a sim card issue. I wish you the best of luck. This device is truly amazing. Coming from the G2, it blows it away in every area except possibly battery life and the camera, but neither are big issues to me since I always have a charger on me, and I don't use my phone for pictures.
  12. I have a question for those of you that have one of the custom PRLs on this device. Have any of you backed up your EFS settings in TWRP? If so, can you get the custom PRL back onto your phone again by just restoring the backup? I am just looking for a quicker way in the future to get back to the PRL if I am away from a computer and Sprint forces a PRL update.
  13. Gave that a shot... Still no dice. I may flash the .23 radio and give it a go. Although, it really isn't a big deal to me right now. The B25 coverage is better with this device than I was able to get with B25 and B26 from my G2.
  14. Just so you know, I had the same thing happen to me every now and then with my G2. Picked up a N5 last night and it is working just perfect.
  15. Forgot to mention... I have a G2 and have found plenty of B26 sites while using that device.
  16. I have been combing through this forum, so I apologize for asking this since I am sure it has been asked MANY times. Even tried searching, but with so many results and not having a lot of time since I should be working, I thought I would just post and hope for a quick and simple response. I bought a N5 yesterday and ended up flashing the .17 radio and a custom PRL and then also enabled B26. My question is if there is something I am missing for B26 from the N5? I know it isn't "officially" supported yet, but I have read numerous reports that it works on the N5 by just enabling the band. So, I am just not completely sure if I'm missing something, or if it is just that the N5's RF performance is so good that it never even needs to look for it! (might slow down my Milwaukee market premier thread, but there's no such thing as too much LTE reception)
  17. I have a G2 and broke down and bought a Nexus 5 yesterday. I always thought the G2 was decent in RF performance, but the N5 with the .17 radio flashed is absolutely insane. I pick up a B25 signal from towers farther out compared to what the G2 could get on B26 from the same tower. (Pretty good test too because it is the last tower for 20 miles so you end up roaming for a bit between sites) However, I LOVE the G2 besides that. The battery life, camera, Knock On, the back button placement... everything else. Keeping the G2 for now as a backup for either myself or my wife. Pretty good knowing that I have a G2 to fall back to in case my wife destroys her G2.
  18. So I broke down and bought the N5 today to replace my G2. Everything that has been said about the beastly RF'ness with this device was completely true! I was picking up B25 in areas where I couldn't even get B26! (and I know that said tower is broadcasting B26) Just now got my MSL and enabled B26, so I am excited to see how much (or little) I fall back to 3G. I tried flashing a PRL without success. Oh well. This thing probably never needs 1x800 anyway.
  19. Oops... Silly me. I forgot to close out of the program (it is something I never do). I'm going to give it a shot again here in a few minutes. I did end up rooting my phone so I already pulled the .db file and made the changes I need. I'm sure it will overwrite the file with the program not running. Amateur mistake. Thanks!
  20. Okay, so what I did was pull the .db file locally onto my PC and then made the changes I desired. However, when I try to send (paste) the file back into the correct folder, I get a permissions error saying it cannot proceed with the operation. I am very new to doing anything like this with my phone. Do you have any suggestions?
  21. Yeah I work with databases all the times as a developer. Mostly Oracle, but if I can just find the .db file then I'd be fine.
  22. Mike - (or anyone that can answer this) How can I go about editing the logging database? I have done a little bit of work in a premier thread for my market where we have pretty much every GCI and corresponding notes for each site. I would like to import that data into the lte-sites table in the SignalCheck database. Is that going to be possible? I think I read somewhere that the database is located in the data/data/ folder... Therefore, do I need root access? All I need to know for sure is where the database is located and if I need root access. I'm a software/web developer myself, so once I get my hands on the database I can certainly get the information inserted into it. (actually took a class a few years back on Android development, but it certainly isn't my cup of tea. I have a lot of respect for the work you do.)
  23. I would be interested in a bit more of an in depth RF comparison with the G2. I have been thinking about using my easypay upgrade and the M8 appeals to me a lot more than the S5. At the same time, besides the RF performance, I still love my G2.
