That was his first 6P. Waited quite a while before getting the screen replaced. I had no idea he dropped the slippery thing again. I have the 6P as well and it's VERY slippery. I've replaced a screen myself.

Without question, things have come a long way, in a relatively short time. For my needs, a phone must be unlocked, unencumbered to use anywhere, on just about any network. I actually budget and save money so I can choose the device that best suits my needs and wants. The U11 is still on the short list to replace the Pixel XL2 I plan on purchasing later this year, but it certainly has dropped a few pegs. I admire the way HTC keeps battling, coming up with what is seemingly a stellar device. I didn't know what would happen after they released the U Ultra. But heck, we all have different tastes, needs, wants, requirements, etc.

I sure appreciate sharing your info and thoughts. My issue certainly isn't with you. Let's say I pay $649 plus tax for the phone through HTC, without financing. The phone I just paid in full for comes SIM locked, and I have to go through unlocking it myself. While the non-Sprint firmware specific phones are all unlocked and can be used basically on any network. Apologies, my astonishment isn't directed at you.

This device is still getting high marks after a month of release. This will be my next phone if I don't care for the Pixel 2 XL. I'm only interested in unlocked phones. I know there is a "Sprint" version, is that only for firmware updates? Hardware-wise, are all U11's the same? Although I've been with Sprint for 17+ years, I do not want to purchase a phone that is locked to Sprint. The solar red looks pretty hot. Anyone on the thread have it?

Sprint "Open World" plan (replaces International Value Roaming)

Thanks for sharing your experience. We are going to China later this year. Map of China in the Play Store is highly rated and updated. No need for data while in use, just GPS. Not sure what to do about data while over there. China data through Sprint is pricey, but what the heck, it's vacation. -
I disagree. For ME Sprint's native coverage is excellent where: I work I live I travel For that reason, there is simply no reason for me to consider T-MO, Verizon, or AT&T, or any other carrier. Sprint is a company I must give money to in exchange for a service. I don't like giving my money away. If Sprint provides an excellent service for a better price than the other carriers, there is zero need for me to consider the things you cite in your post.

Sprint "Open World" plan (replaces International Value Roaming)

You travelled to China last year and your Google services worked without issue? I really want to avoid getting there, firing up Google Maps and finding out it doesn't work. Would like the ability to upload photos instantly via Google Photos as well. I assume if in the same situation, you would just purchase the high speed data through Sprint? Any idea how fast the speeds are? Thinking anywhere around 1-3MB would suffice. Appreciate your time and feedback. Skid -
Sprint "Open World" plan (replaces International Value Roaming)

The wife and I are travelling to China. She uses a Pixel XL, and I use a Nexus 6P. Would really appreciate some opinions on how to go about using our phones in China. I'm assuming Google services are still blocked. Should we each get local SIMs or just pay some $ for high (full?) speed data? We'll be there around 10 days. -
Has anyone swapped their Sprint SIM for one from another country? I'm going to Ireland and cannot decide whether to try picking up a SIM in Ireland or just using a mifi device for the group to use. If I go with the mifi device, can Textra send texts via WiFi overseas? Any advice welcome.

I've definitely noticed a pretty significant drop in battery life as well. Although I'm running a custom 7.1.1 ROM, I'm convinced it's the radio. I'm considering flashing back to 3.78.

What are hand locks? I really hope Google addresses the dismal Bluetooth performance.

Can someone share a link in which to order the 3-in-1 SIM kit for a Pixel XL?

Couldn't agree more. Listening to different android bloggers podcasts, a fair number have said that the 6P battery is just meh. Not for me, but have to admit I'm running a lovely ROM and custom kernel. Getting in the neighborhood of 1 year after purchase and I still absolutely love this phone!

If memory serves $160. Which made me even more angry at myself. First phone I've ever broken. Laid it on top of the garbage can in the garage while I was working. Forgot it was there, flipped up the lid and it went for a 20 foot ride in the air across the garage. Sick Just sick

Robert,I lack the vision and skill to repair my own screen, but shipped it to Texas through Huawei to get it repaired. Made me sick when I busted it. Live and learn, I'll bite the bullet and build the cost of nexus protect into my next nexus purchase.

In theory a great idea to stay on WiFi, however we will be on a cruise ship and their rates and reliability are meh. Data only 10gb SIM on Vodafone is 30 Euro, which would be a good option as much as we're going to be in Italy.
