  1. Sorry about that, got a little dyslexic with my numbers there.
  2. I was reading Roberts article on the LTE connection issues, and decided to try it out, but am not brave enough to root my phone at this point. The steps are a little different than on the GS3, so I thought I would post them here. It's fairly similar, you open the dialier, enter ##3828#, select edit, and then enter your MSL number. Finding that number seems to be the tricky part, however, I called the 888 number for Sprint, and this was the extent of my conversation with the representative: "me:Hi, I was wondering if you could help me find the MSL number for my phone? Rep:Sure, let me look that up." Done. After the MSL number is entered, click on the 'EVDO' option. There are two items that pop up, click on 'Preferred Mode', and then select 'LTE Only.' The default mode is 'CDMA HDR LTE Only.' After taking these steps, I did indeed have a LTE connection at my house where previously I could not make a connection save for a few blips here and there. The speeds weren't great, and the connection doesn't always last long, but it's usable! I assume this is due to the current distance to any operational LTE towers. I hope this is helpful to any other EVO LTE users out there! >>And thanks to a post by another member, I'm still able to make calls using the Groove IP app and Google Voice!
  3. The updates to the towers aren't complete. You're not the only one not seeing any LTE yet. I live in Lenexa, and only occasionally get a blip for a few seconds. However I was in Olathe along K-10 and K-7 and and had a consistent LTE signal. All we can do is wait for more towers, and hope that Sprint/Samsung/HTC lower the threshold for our phones to connect to LTE. I was at a sprint store where my friend works yesterday, she is having the same problem, and we decided that the phones think we are on the 'fringe' of the signal, even though we aren't, and are opting to connect to CDMA instead.
  4. Oh, well that makes sense. Although updating it last night seemed to fix the problem I was having with 3G, it had kicked me back to EVDO and my speeds were abysmal. Updated that and all the sudden the signal was eHRPD again, and faster speeds. Perhaps just a coincidence.
  5. Same PRL that I'm showing.
  6. The one that went out Wednesday? Yes. Unless there was another one.
  7. I'm still not able to use LTE when it pops up in my area. Been in the places on the southwest side of the KC metro that have been showing LTE, but still can only connect for about 30 seconds be it drops me off again, and when it is connected, no data moves through the signal. I hope this changes tomorrow when they officially launch.
  8. Does your EVO connect automatically? I still have to force mine to connect, and then it drops the signal right off again. Even when I'm right next to one of the supposedly live towers in the OP and Olathe area.
  9. I've also been having a lot of trouble with 3G that started right after LTE started showing up. I've had Sprint for 2 years in this area, and have never had issues staying connected to 3G, or even slow speeds. I could almost always get around 1mbps, sometimes close to 2. Today, the fasted I got was 0.15mbps. Voice seems to be working fine, though I've only had to make 3 calls. Been getting results like this or worse most of the day. Notice upload failed completely. Sometimes download fails too.
  10. I've been having that issue in the KC area for the last two days. I'll find a LTE signal, but it'll only last a minute tops before it drops back to 3G, and I'm not even moving. I'm on the EVO LTE, glad to hear that it's not just me. Hopefully it just means the system isn't 'live' yet.
  11. I've been seeing this too. All day yesterday and when I tried this morning, I'll get LTE for about 20 or 30 seconds then it'll drop back to 3G. And when I'm connected, its next to unusable, can't even run speed tests. Get a network communication error, on different servers and speed test apps. Also, I've noticed 3G speeds all over the area took a dive yesterday. Couldn't even get over 100kbps all of yesterday. could barely use my nice shiny EVO LTE. Very frustrating. They've come back a bit today, but nowhere near what I've been uses to for the last couple years.
  12. Oh, huh. Certainly seemed to line up with an actual tower most of the time. Oh well.
  13. I'd say its pretty close to Prairie Star The next one was at 95th and 435, on the SE side of the intersection.
  14. I was cycling the CDMA/LTE - CDMA Only function, but it didn't seem to help. A couple hours later I did find several LTE towers on Prairie Star (95th) between Woodland and Lackman. Lost it as soon as I went north from there.
  15. I drove that same stretch this afternoon, but did not connect to LTE. Could it be they hadn't been switched on yet when I was there?
  16. Perhaps a poor choice of words, sorry Houston. Also, sorry the images are so large! Posting from my phone and didn't realize. I will fix.
  17. Houston, we have liftoff!! Was out riding my bike, near several towers I connected to on my tour earlier, and found this! However it was gone by the time I got home.
  18. I did, even toggled back and forth as someone suggested when I was near towers that were confirmed LTE earlier before they were blocked. Just CDMA received.
  19. I tried, really tried to find the elusive 4G, but so far as I can tell not a blip of LTE yet. These are all the towers I hit, wasn't running speed tests, that would have taken forever! But I was watching the status and never saw any LTE.
  20. I work in west KCK, but live in Lenexa, will have to see if I can pick anything up when I get home in a couple hours!
  21. I saw someone elsewhere say they have a 4G signal on their LTE already today in downtown KC. Is there a possibility that's right? I work just west of downtown and am still on 3G, not that I expected to see anything until at least Friday
  22. I switched from my EVO 3D to my new EVO LTE yesterday, and it did involve a call to Sprint, from Best Buy. They couldn't activate it because of the hotspot feature that I use. The WiMAX plan wasn't compatible with the LTE plan for hotspot use. Apparently they changed the pricing structure for hotspot use on LTE devices. That was the first I'd heard of that, so I cancelled my hotspot. So that may be part of the problem. The guy at Best Buy said they had also seen issues converting WiMAX plans over to LTE even without the hotspot issue, so maybe hit and miss?
  23. Robert, thanks for that. I've been running over these forums like crazy for the past few days, and hadn't come across that information, so I wasn't sure.
  24. This is very cool, I live right in that area. Very excited to get my EVO LTE next week. I'll report what I see when I get it, assuming I get it before the official launch.
