  1. Yes they did mention their plan to deploy. They said the hoped to have a significant number of 2.5 on the sites (sites being Sprint 38K, Clearwire 12K and potentially new sites/locations). I would agree that yes it would be a task to include new 3 antennas on all of the towers. However, if a tower already has backhaul and LTE active, I don't see the hold up. On the call, it was stated they are going to out to the OEM's and request bidding. IMO it sounded like it would be separate vendors than NV 1.0. Bingo. On the call, it was stated to deploy 2.5 would be adding cards/equipment to existing cabinets and an additional antenna per sector. This is similar to what TMO is currently doing and the upgrades that Verizon is doing to its network.
  2. I think they are eyeing China. Thats why there will be an inexpensive phone.
  3. If you listened to the call, he couldn't back track faster. It was quite funny. Edit: If you know the phone is going to work, why not throw the promise out there.
  4. Just listened. Begin zoning, leasing and documentation completed. Working with the vendors for 2.5. Several thousand sites up based on Clearwire. However, through 2014 most sites will be able completed faster. % of 38K sites. Close to 100% of sites are expected and truthfully more. Sprint sites, Clearwire sites and more. Interesting. I hope they work with the OEM's to get these antenna's out for the markets that already have LTE and incorporate going forward. Very exciting.

  7. Very easy and plain to read. Well thought out with the multiple pins of the future. Great job. This should be on the front page of the forum. Edit: come on purple!
  8. I translated this post to the following. Baby crying, "mom The jones' speed is faster than mine. I want faster speed so I can have faster speed. Give it to me. My current LTE is working just fine but his is faster!" Hahaha
  9. the 2.5 will soon the the additional band that Softbank will have. Not currently.
  10. Just a suggestion, but should we start to include pins to roll-out of different frequencies? This is more of a question than it is a necessity.
  11. This is a yea and no answer. It all depends how the lte-a is set up and use. If faster speeds to phone, then yes you will need a different phone. However lte-a will bring along carrier aggregation. This will be a benefit to all phones.
  12. Also let's clarify. EVDO is more fragile than 1x. They both are 3G.
  13. Yes they are the same frequency but each has a different airlink. 3G is more fragile than 1x.
  14. My question is how 800 will work. Will it be as current voice is working with Andriod. If 800 voice is available, it stays there and jumps if necessary or will it stay on 1900 and look for a stronger signal if necessary.
  15. I believe AJ already debunked this. Combining FDD and TDD is not possible. Each tower that is going to get 2.5 will require a new antenna per sector as well as equipment and cards in the new NV racks.
  16. I hear this all the time. Of course this round will go faster. It is not a complete overhaul.
  17. Very exciting. I knew it couldn't be long. Notifying several people in Denver that want to order the triband devices.
  18. i don't think a merger between New Sprint and Tmo would happen. THat does not bode well for competition.
  19. I had the same problem this past week in Tampa. I went into General Settings and reset all network settings and rebooted. This worked.
  20. I agree. Right now I am at 53% with moderate use. I also turned off a lot of notifications. They kind is drive me nuts.
