  1. I have been a Sprint customer ever since the Instinct in 2008. I have spoke with local elected officials and agencies about Sprint's wrong doing in Erie PA.

    1. When are they going to turn it on?

    2. When are they going to stop lying to the customers in the stores?

    3. You do have 4G but it is in BFE the most eastern part of Erie County PA.

    4. Why has it taken forever and ever for this to happen?

I know I have done my homework, research and talked to pretty much a lot business, technical support etc etc but still I get the same song and dance. Can some one please guide me to understand more of the craziness this company has done with the citizens of Erie and our residents. Sprint is the only one NOT turned on. In not so populated areas around Erie PA have 4G. I know Cleveland and Buffalo has something to do with it. When I even go to Pittsburgh I get it but barely even outside Alleghany County. I have traveled a lot all over the Great Lakes area and Erie my hometown is not connected. Can you help me? and how can I get it turned on?

I didn't see any wrong doing on behalf of sprint. Obvi, sprint is not the service provider for you.
  2. OK I found your post here that explains it.

So if I understand it correctly Sprint's LTE Advanced Carrier Aggregation is ONLY Band 41 and ONLY 20Mhz channels.

    J

The chip in the iphone 6/6+ supports Sprint's B41 only up to 20mhz channels.  The LTE Advanced that is being deployed is carrier aggregation which combines 2 carriers of B41. The Iphone 6/6+ do not support this.  However, the 6/6+ will benefit from multiple carriers of B41 being available.

  3. It's quaint that even he thought tmobile's uncarrier is a short term phenomena.

Now I'm not a fanboy or anything. I am here for knowledge and understanding what is going on in my Sprint market.

You however are a fanboy and clearly only want to point out tmobile.  I don't get it. Trolling a website full of people like myself.  I disagreed with allowing a tmobile discussion thread for items such as this.

  4. Well, I lose LTE for the 10 second ride in the elevator, so 3G isn't going to save me. But then I wouldn't be stuck on EVDO or 1x four minutes after getting off the elevator.

Do you have an active data session going?  If so, I have found that iphone/andriod will  not reconnect to LTE until that data session expires. I don't know if it is related to eCFSB or how the LTE scan timer is designed.

In addition, I have seen that the HTC M8 LTE scan timer is really long. Much longer than I have noted on other phones.

  5. Delicious words

Interestingly, Son also addressed T-Mobile's recent "uncarrier" efforts in the market, and the carrier's recent resurgence in terms of new subscribers. He said T-Mobile's success is a short term phenomenon and that "we need a real fight, not a pseudo fight."

This is a year old.  I am sure it has already been posted.

  6. I have a follow up question to PCS/band 41 aggregation. Can the dowload:upload ratio change to 8:1 if used in CA to minimize the empty slots? Why not use B41 in a supplemental downlink type of scenario instead with no uplink of its own?

If I understand AJ correctly, his point was that B41 would become the SCC and Band 25 would be the primary.  In this case, B41 would be used for only additional downlink. I didn't watch the video above but my assumption is that they are using Band 3 as the primary and B41 as supplemental downlink.

  7. Even in Columbus they did much better than in previous rounds though the latest report from Columbus is the second half of last year as this year's first half report for that metro area isn't yet available.  So that speaks volumes.

Beginning to see the power of launching Spark and getting more ubiquitous B41 coverage out there. I am sure that those speeds were brought down b/c of latching onto band 25 and 26.

  8. Previously all upgrade eligibility changes i.e. from 20 months to 24 months only take effect upon the NEXT upgrade..... I saw a blurb about eligibility changing again on the Jan/Feb bills taking effect on 3/1/2015 but it did not specify this is retroactive to all users so I didn't pay it much attention.

I have 2 lines due for upgrade 3/1/2015 even as of mid Feb when I last checked on the Sprint website.

To my horror going to the website today (3/1/2015) and trying to upgrade I found that now I can't upgrade until 7/1/2015!!!!!

Same here. Was 5/1, now 11/1
