  1. Normally I paragraph my posts better than that one, but I was in a hurry and didn't have the time I usually have to edit things, which I typically do when I post.

However, instead of criticizing, just skip over if it bothers you. Sometimes people can't write out posts as well as they should, which this was one of those times when I couldn't. I had a serious personal situation occur right after making that post and I couldn't go back to edit my hurried post.

Still your post are ridiculously long.  This hasn't been the first time someone call you out.  If you are mobile, some of your posts are freaking ridiculous to skim past.

  2. I was driving by this site a few minutes ago, and there is a couple of people there. The fence was open and they had a tarp covering all of the cabinets and they were all eating lunch. I didn't have time to stop other then to drive by, but it was the MasTec engineering truck, with a trailer that had tons of equipment in it. I'll try to stop by again, but I might not be able to today. Good news hopefully!

  3. inb4 some small never heard of before company buys all the 600, then it's like a face reveal to be Masa and the gang

Question is how much would a 10x10 FDD or 15x15 FDD slice be?

In addition, I am going to keep track of bidding by geographic locations that Sprint currently does not reside. I am interested if they want to expand service.  With 600 and 800, it would be very possible.

  4. It was nice to see Masa admitting that at one point he was skeptical, but with the way Sprint has turned things around he's even more confident that when they initially acquired Sprint. It's s huge sign for consumers who actually stay informed.

I agree. This is a return of investor earnings. This a great news.

Makes me believe they are laying low on 600 on purpose and they will be bidding hard.

  5. Like I said, B25/B26 is already loaded. Unless 4t2r can magically produce more bandwidth, it won't help alleviate the under 1 Mbps some sectors currently get (and this is with a signal above -80).

8t8r radios do wonders for edge of cell, but B41 is so sensitive to anything that signal will fade rather quickly. This myth that it matches B25 is just that, a myth. Dont get me wrong, it greatly improves B41 signal, but it doesnt match B25. The S5, for example, has an antenna design so bad that I could have B41 at -108, but if I hold it the wrong way I lose B41 and get placed on B26 (and while this may be the case with most phones, I'm not exaggerating here. Holding the phone like I normally do makes B41 go haywire) Band 41 is the solution for crowded spaces, but not for you run of the mill neighborhoods with dense trees/buildings. A 10x10 600 Mhz would help in places such as Texas where a second B25 carrier is impossible to launch.

I'm not advocating to have the fastest speed, but if Sprint wants to survive in this cut throat industry, it'll have to find a way to shake off the slow speed perception that many people have. For me, 1-2 Mbps works just fine, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case when it comes to public opinion.

B41 is only started to produce 4r2t.  It seems you are bent, so I will leave it there.

  6. I don't know if you've experienced Band 41, but it doesn't travel very far and there is only so much 8t8r can do to help it indoors.

I live less than 1500 feet away from a Sprint tower with B41 and I don't get it indoors. Harold Feld wasn't exactly exaggerating when he said 'wet leaves' can disrupt the signal.

2.5 is an answer for crowded areas such as medical centers, downtown, parks, etc. But it won't address the issues in residential areas where B26/B25 is drowned. Even if densification would help alleviate congestion on B25/B26, we are forgetting about the speed test obsessed media that will continue to measure them as if the speeds were penises. Sprint needs reliability and speed, and B41 only gives you speed, not reliability.

The other issue is that Sprint is only doing 2t2r right now. Just wait till 4t2r is deployed. I would love to discuss then.

  7. You're all thinking short term (>5 years), Masa and Marcelo are thinking long term (5-10). They want to be be the best wireless carrier, and they want to keep it that way.

I agree with this thinking only if Softbank is willing to pay for NGN and the 600 auction. If that happens, i don't see 600 being a waste. I know on the call they really side stepped 600 auction but I honestly cant see them sitting out.

  8. Exactly. Everywhere else I go, Sprint is really killing it, but it still struggles throughout NM. I hope whatever is holding us back is coming to an end.

I go and test 3G only sites all the time. Most if not all out of Abq are hitting 2 Megs. I have a feeling a lot of subscribers left. Santa for LTE in the square is awesome. I pull 20mb consistently when I am there for work. Band 26 hasn't even popped up yet. Crazy.

However I have to think they will be finished in the next 9 months.

  9. Jut got back from a day trip throughout northern NM with my friend on T-Mobile. I am really impressed with T-Mobile there. Consistently there was 4G and Edge in places like Mora, parts of Angel Fire, and even LTE all over Taos. Everywhere else, (between towns), they had roaming on Comnet 3G. Sprint had Extended 1x the entire time. Speeds were okay for him while roaming, (3-1mbps), whereas 50% unusable for me. It is a little better for me, since when I did have data, my roaming limit is 300MB and T-Mobile is 100MB. Just what we experienced. We both have iPhone 6's, so T-Mobile's b12 didn't apply here, even though I don't think they have any deployed here. There are so many old Nextel sites in the area, hopefully in the future Sprint will take advantage of those spaces.

I agree. I wish sprint would get all those nextel sites. There are like ten north of Espanola. Remember though, commnet is a CCA member. I am hoping they launch lte and roaming.

  10. 6 Sectors on 800/1900 or 6 sectors on 2.5?

6 sectors on 2.5 is really easy since one does not need additional radio heads or antennas but if its additional 800/1900 sectors... interesting.

If on 2.5, it would create an immense amount of capacity if the backhaul is available. Very interesting. I wonder if Sprint is looking into this option in the future.

  11. The Q1 number is artificially low because of the Data Stash revene deferral (approx $112mil) -- it cost them nothing on a per subscriber basis, but it makes Q1 look much worse than it factually was, and makes Q2/Q3/Q4 look slightly better than they actually are/will-be (since Q2/Q3/Q4 are recording some amount of revenue/profit from sales that already happened in Q1).

    http://newsroom.t-mobile.com/news/2015-q1-earnings.htm

    http://blogs.barrons.com/techtraderdaily/2015/04/28/t-mobile-rising-street-cheers-net-adds-improved-profit-profile/

It's not a huge change or anything. But the profit between Q1 2015 and Q2/Q3/Q4 2015 is slightly less volitile than it might appear to be, if people are just glancing at the final number for each quarter.

And that should remain that way through 2015, unless they run some new promotion that requires a new revenue deferral.

Just wait until 2018 when the new Revenue FASB is required. All this is going to get screwed.

I already hate my life thinking about it.

  12. PCS will never be sold, ever. Unless Sprint is in bankruptcy, it is not an option. They will sell every bit of b41 before they sell any PCS.

I disagree with the EBS/BRS. They may get rid of some EBS as that is leased. They own most of the BRS.

However, I do not seeing them giving their advantage to any other carrier. Perhaps they may strike capacity deals with other carriers but not sell it.

  13. I'm hoping those people are wrong and we do get a 4" 6C. We need a variety.

You say that josh but how many iterations occurred with out having two models? Only 5s/5c and the 6/+ had two models. It doesn't surprise me that they have decided to leave it at two.
