  1. It wasn't obvious at the the time but apple always waits to see which way the tide is flowing before it adopts anything. Some say it allows them to fall behind the times but I say its smart business because that way they can "reinvent" something and make it work flawlessly, and thats why in my opinion that they are so profitable…

I agree yes they wait till something selected (apply pay/NFC, AC wifi and others).

This is not what makes the profitable. They have sold people including myself about their products and environment.  With the buy in the consumer, they are able to charge their ridiculous amounts for a mac, macbook, iphone and other products.

Example: Cost of 16GB memory vs a 64GB in an iPhone 6. $10 in difference in cost yet they charge $100 price difference. Also, cost difference between 6 and 6+ is $12 yet they charge $100.  This is what makes them profitable. Do I mind it? Yeah but not enough to make me switch.

  2. Do you just want the bigger screen and battery life. I find my battery life to be acceptable on the 6. It would probably help if I wasn't in a fringe zone, but it works. lol

I am finding the battery on iOS 8.1 way better than 8.0.  I am basically able to last a day and a half. I am a light texter and web browser. More of streaming/listening to music at work through my BT. It has been great.

  3. Stats update:

    Albuquerque

84% of sites accepted (increase of 1%)

63% LTE accepted (increase of 2%)

    55% 8001x accepted

    Rio Rancho

77% of sites accepted (increase of 8%)

    62% LTE accepted

    54% 8001x accepted

New tidbit for interest into becoming Premier Sponsors:

Schedules have been released for all of the Albuquerque market (ABQ, Santa Fe, El Paso, etc...) for all 307 sites for remaining technologies to be accepted (i.e., 3G, Band 25 4G, Voice 1x 800) and new technologies (i.e., Band 26 800 LTE and Band 41 2.5/2.6Ghz LTE)

-Out of the 307 sites in the ABQ market, there is something scheduled by Sprint on 79% of the market.  Donate and support the site!. Review the towers used the most and when to expect changes!

  4. Wow, almost a month without any posts... I'm still waiting on the two towers nearest to my house to be upgraded :(

Those are the two near me. I don't know about San Francisco and San Pedro (permit was issued in May) but Wyoming and Harper is done (permit issued same time as other). Look at the schedule maps in the premier for the dates. Very encouraging for those and other sites in far northeast heights. Also it will help when the Hoffmantown tower is 4g as well.

  5. Either way, I don't understand why the iPhone refuses to use a 1x800 signal.

I beleive AJ answered this for us a while back and it is believed to be that the iphone (all iterations at have support for 800 1x) due not use CSFB.  I am not as technical as him so please forgive me, but he explained that potentially is the reason why the phone does not want to connect. If I remember correctly, once 800 1x is readily available in the whole country, 1900 1x could be swapped for 800 1x.

  6. I'm not sure if anyone posted this article or not but apparently SK telecom and Nokia achieved this in the summer.

I know sprint has an abundance of TD LTE spectrum thanks to clear wire and they plan to aggregate those channels

Do you think sprint will try to aggregate all their frequencies in the future?

I can't remember where Robert's post was but due to the depth of Sprints B41 spectrum, there really is no reason for Sprint to aggregate FDD and TDD.  In addition, B41 is suppose to be the capacity and speed which will be aggregated to 40mhz and then to 60mhz.  Finally, there are several markets that have multiple B41 carriers active (chicago??).

  7. Here's the unburdened (because it's 9pm) Clear B41 site about a half mile (at most) from my house:8099e417b508632c7dd6e7b792d9dd36.jpg

Can't wait for those 8T8Rs to fire up so this hotness can cover way more ground. :)

BTW, Mapped it with Sensorly & it showed up. I think we can finally contribute to the Purple. :D

Please explain how this awesome happens.
  8. Band 26 is not in my current location however, due to the Chicago FAA fire last week, I drove from Des Moines (flight was cancelled) and drove to Kansas City.  I held band 26 the whole way with my iPhone 6 which was great b/c I was on the web switching flights with southwest.  Everything worked out great until I hit my first experience with Band 41. Blew my mind. holy cow it is awesome.

  9. Sprint's racks will also fill up eventually with their own sort of hodge podge. In addition to the current 800/1900 and B41 antennas, they'll also have 600 MHz + any equipment related to a spectrum hosting deal with Dish or a CCA partner. So it's important for them not to put off taking down the legacy antennas for too long.

Also, does this mean the AT&T work stoppage is coming to an end?

I would say no. The towers AT&T have been working on in my area were permitted 4 to 5 months ago.
