Even though Google is in a fight with Apple, why would they alienate a good portion of ad data collection? If Google were to acquire Sprint somehow and go Android-only, I'd leave the service.
-
That's not his point. In Albuquerque we have 5 or 6 stations. I can go through out the state and do to the Rocky Mountains and great expansions of desert I can find those channels but on different translators. These are the ones AJ is referring to and how they are being effected. If there's so few tv stations then it sounds like none of them have to be cleared.
Also AJ next time in ABQ, Wecks, El Pinto or Sadies on me.

Which rapper was it who protested at occupy with a $300 shirt? Lol.
I remember. It was Kanye. Don't forget about the gold chains.

Verizon owned 55% of vzw;
It has a landline business to milk from which to pay off the loan;
Vzw is profitable itself.
Now compare to tmus.
Completely agree. It is not feasible for Tmo. With the increase in cash financing outflow for Verizon, earnings estimates were dropped this week or last week.

Ryan, Sprint's balance sheet is an irrelevant comparison. Suggesting that Sprint persists with similar finances, so T-Mobile can and should stick it out with similar finances, too, is like a parent saying that your brother eats broccoli, so you can and should eat broccoli, too. But, hey, maybe I just do not want to eat broccoli.
Moreover, just because Sprint's balance sheet is similar does not mean such is sustainable longterm -- nor desirable. Plenty of Sprint naysayers certainly think its finances signal impending doom.
bigsnake49 is right. Deutsche Telekom wants out of this slim margin business. And that is all that really matters.
AJ
The question I have is would Tmo consider buying itself from DT similar to Verizon. I know it would never happen b/c they don't have the ability to do it as it would devistate the BS as LT capital raising would be the only way.
-
This just blows my mind. Would you have to choose one service or the other? Or would you get both? It seems possible that you could have a SIM that could run on both networks. Granted a data session or call would not hand over from one network to the other. But you could go back and forth as necessary in between active calls and sessions. It might work pretty well.
Google be like, "Sprint/T-mo merger didn't happen, I make it happen."

Google to start their own MVNO service using Sprint and tmobile
Depending on roaming and the data packages, i would consider this.

Good luck. Hopefully back haul integration.Well for the last couple of days we keep dropping to 1x in Alamogordo. Don't know if it is a tower problem or maybe an upgrade in progress. Driven by the tower but have not seen anyone working on it. Hoping for some LTE soon.
-
Still waiting on Farmington. Still no usable 3G.
I use a dumbphone because I refuse to pay the premium data fee.
Wonder if we will ever get LTE.
I can understand your pain.
However, if you become a sponsor, you will be able to see the towers in Farmington, Bloomfield, Aztec and Kirkland that Sprint has already upgraded to the new Network Vision equipment (Band 25 and Band 26 capable).
In addition, if you would be interested in Primier sponsor, there are maps that have been released that were obtained from Sprint about the scheduled upgrades within the next 90 and 180 days. I can say that for 11 towers in the towns noted above, 9 have multiple scheduled upgrades.
The big issue for you and that area is the internet provider. Centurlylink is providing the high speed backhaul and they are lagging behind. Hence why Santa Fe, Roswell, Carlsbad, 1/3 of ABQ and other areas have not seen LTE yet.
Finally, if Sprint can't get the upgrades fast enough, I would suggest another provider until Sprint can provide the service you are looking for.

That was just a reply to him saying the location was showing Dallas.
I understand that. I should have clarified my response to be that I don't believe the location of the server was interfering. I may have to get that contact with Sprint about how the tower is acting. 3G speeds from the tower are 2megs plus. Great. On LTE, the speeds are all over the place and sometimes I get a Network Communications Error.
-
i have set the server for Comcast in Albuquerque. The tower however seems like it is not working properly. That location is just the server Ookla picked. It's not always the closest one. I always manually set my server to the one that I know has the best results.

Me too. It is crazy. When I do get a speed test to go I am getting speeds of greater than 10 Mbps.So is it me, or is the LTE not really working? i have found myself switching back to 3G to be able to actually use the internet. When I do speed tests they are often coming up with a dallas location?

There was this website that said T-Mobile is capable of deploying their wideband LTE because they own 20 MHz of aws. I was confused on that because I thought Verizon owned it
Plus I found this
This is what Tmo owns in bernalillo county per FCC spectrum dashboard. Seems to updated as the WCS spectrum now says ATT and not Sprint.
Tmobile - 20mhz of AWS and 15 mhz of PCS
AWS 1 1745 - 1755
AWS 1 1735 - 1740
AWS 1 1740 - 1745
PCS 1850 - 1865
ATT - 12 mzh of 700, 10 mhz of AWS 1, 30 mhz of PCS and 15 of WCS for a total of 67 mhz for download.
700 704 - 710
700 710 - 716
AWS 1 1710 - 1720
PCS 30 mhz
WCS 15mhz
Verizon 35 total mhz for download
700 mhz 12 mhz
AWS 1 1720 - 1735
PCS 5mhz
800 Celluar - 10mhz
Sprint
PCS 1865 to 1885
PCS G Block
Plus a ton of EBS/BRS. I am in the processing of aggregating all of this together. I kinda quit once I got to Sprint's 70 mhz of Band 41 spectrum. Three CA is very possible in ABQ and will destroy Tmo's wideband LTE, Verizon's XLTE and whatever Att calls the WCS. Hopefully this all helps.

Does anyone know who owns the aws 4 a block license In Albuquerque?
I don't think there is a AWS 4 yet. Only saying that b/c they are completing the AWS 3 auction this week.
Verizon owns half of the AWS 1 with 15mhz.
-
Per my in laws plan, yes after 5gb they are throttled to edge speeds.Doesn't T-Mobile's family planed throttle you down after 5gb?
-
No it has been broadcasting for like the last twenty minutes. Just ran to Wyoming Walgreens and didn't have anything. Just read this and sure enough it is on.Merry Christmas to me! Finally got lte at home. Which means that either the San antonio Wyoming or the San pedro tower finally started broadcasting lte. I know the San antonio Wyoming was accepted recently. But not till today did I start seeing lte.

I live in a non turbo area according to Sprint but only have Band 26 available.
Do you have Band 41 when you step outside?
-
No, it's a Galaxy S4 and due to the quote above this one, I cannot access to the engineering screen. I'm now down on Jefferson and still seeing the VZW message. Really odd. I won't blame the rom though, as it's been running on that for quite some time. Only today have I gotten the oddball Verizon thing.
Are speeds different from before? Could signal check help here?

Portable Charger pants. I should copy right it and invent it. People would love them. A fashionable pair of pants that charges your phone and looks good while doing it.

Thigh gap static charger? would be the best pants sold in army surplus stores. **More you move, the more charge you get!**

Well, I wonder if something did not go right? Pings have not changed and data speeds are no better then before. I thought that once you went to fiber things would improve. The tech said fiber would be online that night.
Side note: When they do B41 they will be adding new antennas?
New equipment is required for B41. By reading the other threads, it appears Nokia is catching up with Sprint orders.

He was going to a christmas party and is a hipster and couldn't fit in his pants... He took it out sometime during the night and dropped it on the concrete.

When I upgraded from the 5s to the 6, I gave my brother in law my otter box. He had it on there since September but took it off last friday night. Whole screen is gone. Now he is paying me to fix his screen.

That spectrum will be Band 26 right? Will it provide interference issues along the border though?
