  1. My wife has had the S6 since launch. It still runs faster in general than my S5, camera is open and snapping pics with the double tap to the home button almost instantaneously. It is on the most recent update and the signal bars actually show real signal now. Only problem is battery life...she'll have to charge it by 10 pm just about every day (she uses her phone around 15 - 20 mins every hour). Screen is the biggest battery drain apparently. However, fast charging makes up for it quite nicely - she can have 10% then put it on the charger for 10 mins and have around 60% charge again. I suspect fast charging is why Samsung feels comfortable with a sealed battery compartment.
  2. SUPER LIKE!!!!! Although the Spark Icon never really bothered me, does the stock LTE icon blink/sparkle or something to tell you the data session is active?
  3. The writing is on the wall...it's a disgruntled ex-S4GRU member out to curse all Sprint users around him.
  4. A keyboard slider...that takes me back. My wife had a palm pre when we got married...she loved that phone. Maybe she'll like this one too but I doubt it.
  5. I agree! I am on easypay...it's cheaper with more flexibility over 2 yr contracts and you keep the phone at the end. Even better - if you keep your phone for an extra month past 2 yr.. you save even more money. So in the end...
  6. I'm not a power user by any means (I always have ~ 40% battery by the end of the day, and I spend most of my phone time on WiFi... Only used 25 MB last month) but I too have noticed my s5 loads apps faster and is quicker in general.
  7. So the leasing company Sprint and Softbank will set up is supposed to arrange and finance handset leasing. The leasing company operates at net 0 profit but will take a significant load of payments off of Sprint's books thereby creating + free cash flow. Masa had said that he did this with Softbank and it has worked very well for his company. That's what I got from the financial part of the transcript. Did I interpret it correctly?
  8. I know that I need to get more sleep when I start daydreaming about my bed...and my fan
  9. Had a great experience at PNC Park today. Got the W and was on mix of B41 and 26. Speeds were quick too.
  10. After 3x CA will there be much more that Sprint would change on their phone variants? After 2017 most Sprint phones should be future proof... Maybe a 600 MHz band to add.
  11. I was hiking in Cleveland Forest in March 2015 and had no service except VZW roaming. Maybe this is a recent development.
  12. Because Steve Jobs was part of the Illuminati trying to keep the Southern Man down.
  13. Probably a combo of factors..Moffet's comments, T-mo subscriber gains/Sprint going to 4th place, uncertainty of the Next Gen funding sources, etc
  14. Saying streaming is limited "at all times" seems to be the only lawsuit proof way of throttling after net neutrality. Side note: Is 600kb/s video streaming really bad (when everything else is on the screen is downloading at Mb/s)...has anyone tried it? Sprint knows what position they are in...it would seem silly to purposefully degrade network quality when it is showing so much improvement. There must have been internal testing prior to making this announcement.
  15. I was thinking of the clear acquisition and price war with dish when softbank bought sprint.
  16. B41 is a testament to Son's forward thinking. He knew it was the only way sprint could survive. I'm not sure the old board would have considered it necessary, and we would be seeing data rankings in the 70s and 80s on root metrics despite a nearly complete lte network.
  17. One of the best lines from the HBO show Silicon Valley about tech blogs: "Keep in mind, these aren't real journalists, Richard. They're tech journalists." LOL
  18. Majority of college students don't pay for thier cell phone plans. Those that do likely cannot afford $60+ dollars a month for a phone. Grad students are even poorer (forgive my grammar). They would probably qualify for those lifeline phones. ROI is likely very low...even for a world class college like Penn State. Though WVU is better. Ntelos 3G in Morgantown is excellent - I could stream video, browse the web just as easily as an LTE connection.
