  1. It's interesting how many of us are on a Framily plan...it was a great plan - too cheap I guess. I have 2 out of a 7 line Framily. Pay $116/month all in for 2 phones with TEP
  2. Oh, and by the way. I took a buddy of mine who has T-mo to my family's house in rural WV. No service..no calls, no data. T mobile will always be irrelevant (in my experience) until they build out rural coverage. But I get it. T mobile doesn't do voice coverage yet in rural america and can't/won't for a good while. So we're supposed to pretend it's no big deal, or an afterthought, or some other silly excuse. I hear that. I understand.
  3. It's funny how this thread has turned into T-mobile cheerleading. I don't give two craps if my calls are completed over 1x or VoLTE - and I'd tender that 99% of America shares my opinion. My call is completed - that is what I pay for, that is what I care about.
  4. Lots of users dont even know you can test your speed on a cell phone. It's all about that LTE icon at the top of the screen and the ability to load facebook and you tube.
  5. It's a joke bro... here's a definition: a prize that you get at a social event/auction if you were given the winning ticket when you arrived
  6. Tmo probably won the door prize...that's why the DT CEO is so mad...Legere isn't sharing!
  7. I like those wooden pole sites. Having service in the middle of nowhere makes me feel a little safer in case a bear, or a hillbilly were to attack.
  8. Interesting way to raise capital for NV upgrades. I hope nTelos is proactively ordering backhaul so that when they eventually replace cabinets/panels/rrus they will be able to fire up LTE right away. I was in Chestnut Ridge park in Morgantown last weekend and while 1x on 1900 was ok it did fall off pretty quickly once we got into the woods. 1x 800 would've fixed that.
  9. Seeking alpha usually writes pretty good articles about Sprint's finances. I'm not a finance guy by any stretch but the gist ( jist?) of the article for me is that Sprint needs to show it can consistently add subscribers in 2015 for investors to become more bull(ish).
  10. I disagree, I have had a great experience on WiFi calling/texting when i'm at work in a basement below a large steel and concrete building where even Verizon doesn't reach. I think the quality of the service depends on the quality of the WiFi system (most likely). One question, will it ever be possible to hand off voice calls from WiFi to cellular without VoLTE? Can T-mo hand off WiFi calls to cellular seamlessly?
  11. If only Lightsquared's LTE via satellite idea didn't cause interference with GPS and thus illegal. There would be LTE everywhere.
  12. Something is going on behind the scenes... Sprint has a record of delays but nothing in 8 months is highly unlikely (especially with the new management). Methinks a buyout is in the works.
  13. Seems like policy is changing and capitalism may be to coming to Cuba. Does anyone think that Sprint will see opportunity there and capitalize?
  14. Eastern Panhandle is where my home town is, and I visit usually once a month. Shentel is a wonderful force for Sprint there. I have complete coverage with LTE and fast speeds on all roads and buildings except when I visit a brother-in-law who lives in a holler in Morgan County. He enjoys the isolation though...no cable TV or internet, long and windy roads that occasionally become gravel - not a single luxury.
  15. It's true AT&T performs best and has the best coverage in Western nTelos land. (Based on many in-laws who have AT&T in central WV and in Blacksburg, VA) They would be the carrier of choice if you must leave sprint. My sister's boyfriend has Verizon and it has just as many holes in coverage as Sprint does but the difference is that Verizon's coverage is all LTE.
  16. Bringing fiber to 1000's of small cells stuck on lamp posts/park benches/stuffed wildlife in central park sounds like a nightmare. I wonder how Softbank did it in Tokyo?
  17. I always found nTelos service usable in Morgantown even though its only 3G. I would also think that WVU has a wifi solution on campus by now? I dont stream music though and I never understood people with earbuds in walking to class...how would you know if there is a car about to hit you?? I left there in 2010 after 8 years with some undergrad and grad degrees. That place is my mountain mama.
  18. Labeling a group of people because of where they live and who they choose to do business with is wrong. I don't like the connotations brought about by the last 2 pages. We should drop this topic...now.
  19. If anyone is interested there is a pretty good article at seeking alpha that summarizes pretty much everything we have been reading here at S4GRU about Sprint's current state and its future. Its called Sprint and the Severe Market Reaction Part 1 and 2. I would post a link but I don't know the policy linking to outside websites...although this one is free to register and read the article.
  20. That post deserves a spinning newspaper headline!
  21. Just call him Robert or Roberto as said in a Bobby Boucher voice.
  22. Interestingly the only B41 sites I know of and can see the panel are new 8t8r panels. I haven't seen any clear conversions, but then again I don't go looking for clear conversions. And finding permits for work is impossible as the building inspection department just started using the internet a few months ago: http://www.post-gazette.com/local/city/2014/08/04/Pittsburgh-s-Bureau-of-Building-Inspection-lacked-Internet-email-until-this-year/stories/201408040102
  23. Any speed test? The fastest I'm able to get around town is 20's to 30's download.
