  1. Hopefully the WiFi problems have been corrected with 8.1. I had to reboot at least once a day (my iPad Air and iPhone 6 running 8.0.2), both at home and at work just to regain lost signal. I'd go to WiFi in settings and no SSID's, just the spinning wheel. If it's fixed, oh happy day!
  2. In my experience, it seems that with the 6/6+ 1900 hangs on in places where the 5/5s used to grab 800, and 800 kicks in where there used to be no service. I'm sitting right next to my coworker who has AT&T, he has no service and I have a -94 1x800 signal.
  3. I'm using a Netgear LTE Gateway 6100D and Sprint as my ISP until TWC gets up off their ass and repairs the damaged cable feed from the curb to my house. This is a speed test on B41, the tower is about a mile and a half from me
  4. Just experienced my first Sprint to Sprint HD Voice call, sounds like my IP phone at work. Now I get to experience band 41 and HD voice with my new iPhone 6, I'm almost ashamed that I even thought for a second about drinking the magenta kool-aid.
  5. Its like the dark, but I want it
  6. That makes sense. My closest tower has no NV work done but has Clear B41. There is another tower in the other direction about 1/2 mile further from me that is broadcasting B25. My router is parked on that one 80% of the time, the other 20% on the Clear B41. Just depends on conditions, usually on B41 early mornings for some reason. Maybe an external antenna would keep me on B41. I must experiment...I did notice when I'm on B41 both UL and DL channels are 40978.
  7. Can anyone explain...I'm receiving an upload EARCFN of 40978 with a download EARCFN of 8665. Could I be on bands 25 and 41 simultaneously?

  9. Spent the week in Peoria, Glendale, and Chandler. Experience was good if not better than Orange County. Band 25 everywhere I went, and very usable 3G indoors...heck, 3G was even usable on the 10 between Phoenix metro and the Palm Springs area. Pretty amazing how far the usable signal stretches between towers on the highway in the middle of the desert.
  10. it's great at the kids play area, the rug rats can romp and I can tune out on my phone.
  11. There are only 4 Sprint legacy towers left in the Brea/La Habra/Fullerton area, and my home tower is one of them. Luckily, it is colocated with Clear B41 and calls on the Sprint legacy are reliable. Finally got B25 at the Brea Mall. Edit: I didn't count the mini sites along Carbon Canyon...seems like none of those canyon road sites are upgraded yet
  12. July 2013, my contract was up and I was ready to jump ship. Miraculously, I found this site by accident. Did some reading, it was all Greek to me at the time...but I learned more in two weeks about cellular networks than the previous 10 years using them. S4GRU renewed my faith in Sprint, and I signed up for another contract. I thank Robert, the S4GRU crew, and all who have contributed. What you have given me I'll keep with me forever.

  15. Sorry about the off topic rant, couldn't help myself I wouldn't be surprised if it was about "completion" of the first phase, my experience has been pretty satisfying through the years travels. Maybe will be augmented by more WiFi calling compatibility and HD voice...whatever it is they're implying announcing something networky. My limited knowledge won't let me speculate on anything more... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  16. Screw 'em. I'll boot 'em in the ass on the way out the door if they want to leave Sprint. They would complain no matter what...Magenta's poor coverage, Big Red's pricing, Deathstars' megalomania. Quite humorous if you ask me. They might be the first ones to crawl back to Sprint in a year when their perfect world is an unrealized fantasy. My coworker left AT&T for T-Mobile a month ago. I tried to convince her to sign up with Sprint (I get magnificent CDMA1x 800 voice coverage deep inside the building and LTE from the ground floor up). She had no service with AT&T. She still has no service with T-Mobile. Smack dab in the middle of the Sunset Strip. The local tower is even Sprint/T-Mobile shared. Go figure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  17. Was in Lahaina and Ka'anapali all week on vacation. I must say, data speed was more than adequate and very usable...can't say the same for Kahului though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  18. I'm a dummy when it comes to understanding network protocol, but this is just my experience...I use an iPhone 5 and I notice that when I am using an active data connection on LTE (Pandora, for instance) while driving the hand-off to another tower always latches onto 3G...every time. It never seems to be the other way around. It latches onto LTE if I toggle airplane mode, and if I stop all data it has no problem handing off to LTE from tower to tower. Maybe just a network thing, looking to upgrade to the S5 soon.
