God dang, this has been a long wait for me buying, selling, buying, selling, buying but mostly holding shares of Sprint since 2011. I might be tens of thousands of dollars richer in the morning...
Marcelo was just a corporate puppet who lied about leading anything at Sprint. Sprint fell from #3 to #4 under his tenure, but he still got kicked up the stairs with $100 million+ in compensation to continue this game with Masa playing with billions of dollars that the world's rich people don't know what to do with.
The CEO/Founder of failed WeWork walking away with $1 billion+ is even more disgusting comedy.
I am bullish on a DISH 5G company. 7 years is plenty of time to build out while using new T-Mobile's network and inheriting redundant assets and Sprint's prepaid customer base. DISH will either get bought out for a premium by a big media/tech company or receive a big cash infusion investment for the buildout. And they don't have to worry about the 3G/4G sunsetting troubles the other carriers are dealing with.
I am now monitoring DISH stock price for a good time to start buying up shares.
Seems like share price manipulation with Sprint's stock price seesawing between each headline spin.
Glad I sold a good deal of my stock when it jumped near $8, but now wish that I maybe sold a little bit more.
Correct. Sprint has committed strategic blunder after blunder the past 15+ years while their executives continued to walk away with tens of millions of dollars each. (Marcelo Claure got $100mil+)
Some more examples:
- Betting on Clearwire 4G Wimax
- Partnering with LightSquared for Network Vision 1.0
Multiple securities class action lawsuits have now been filed against Sprint Corporation for lying about total postpaid net additions.

Analyst: If US wants to be leader in 5G, it should approve Sprint, T-Mobile merger

A Sprint, T-Mobile merger is the path to the best 5G network we’re likely to see in the U.S.
Sprint is sitting on a “phenomenal band of spectrum” that can run the technology
The merger will in turn drive AT&T and Verizon to invest
Nice. Sprint LTE is great when consistently connected in one spot, but I still experience the "swiss cheese" network of dropping to 3G or really low speed, low response 4G if I step inside various restaurants/bars in a city or go out into the still dense suburbs not too far from urban centers.
Agreed. Unfortunately, I feel Sprint 4G LTE has been underinvested in the past two years as they focused on the TMobile merger and now want to skip ahead to 5G.
