  1. I drove by that tower at 930 and started to post, forgot to finish it.. Just getting too it. Hell of a day.... Anyway It is appearing to be in progress. I didn't get my camera close enough to take pictures, except from the highway, which were way too blurry (I was driving) Panels are there, tons of cable, wrapped up in bundles, hanging just below panels, and clearly new cable up the side of the tower with shiny new anchors. I couldn't see RRUs at my speed, but will try again tomorrow. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  2. Hopefully they can get all sites ready to go, so backhaul is the only issue. Things up my way have been real slow. I can go 20 miles north or south to a new market and get LTE, it nothing in northern ct at all. All this news is exciting, but I thought by now every market would have some blips of LTE 1900, 800 and 2500 LTE seem like fantasy in my home area at this point. Going to be exciting. Just wish I could enjoy the fun more with all of you guys. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  3. I will take a swing by tomorrow and see if I see some work at the site. Will have to take pictures from across the cow field, from route 5, but hopefully it is Sprint work. I think Sprint is on the third rack, but I'm going by memory. That sites location makes it a pain to see, u less you are the passenger in the car. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  4. You can set it up with your phone, you don't have to use a pc, even with a wifi encrypted pw, you can still set it up. I see it going places, I bet apps will build the SDK in at a very fast pace. The fact that ios and android can do it will really be sweet. I think they should build in full device mirroring, not just for browsers. Being able to stream my S3 or ipad to any modern tv is a game changer. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  5. Blame the state government. The process to upgrade anything is painful, and we really don't have a ton of fiber in the ground state wide yet. Its getting there, but takes time. That being said, we aren't waiting for backhaul everywhere, site progress overall has been lower than I thought it would be this summer. I am surprised the airport doesn't have LTE yet. Of all the places Sprint should want too shine. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  6. Still nothing around here...... Damn. Was really hoping by now we would see some LTE in the market. anyone see any work going on? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  7. If you use Netflix, it pays for itself, and you risk nothing. Which is why I was an instant adopter. If it's junk, i loose all of 10 bucks. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  8. I don't see it happening because the ipod touch is that price for the cheapest model, the latest generation is even more. They would be competing against their own product shares. Maybe 100 with contract, or hell even free with contract, but 200 no contract doesn't add up to me. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  9. Looks like iPhone has dipped again, to a 3 year low, with Samsung doubling shipments over apple. http://tinyurl.com/o38hdgv (courtesy engadget) Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  10. I ordered mine. Ships before August 7. Anyone else watch the event? Android 4.3 not overly exciting, Chromecast looks like it could be the "next big thing", especially since it works on Android, iOS, Mac and Windows. https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=chromecast http://www.youtube.com/google
  11. Soooooo they are making an android flagship from a year ago and calling it the iphone 5s? Oh, plus a fingerprint scanner (which you need why?) Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  12. One thing of note from the asymco information: Replacement sales are not accounted for. So does this mean they account for someone ditching iphone and going to android? I dont think it does. And same the other way around. I take a look at this: http://bgr.com/2013/05/14/samsung-smartphone-sales-q1-2013/ Which leads to this: http://www.gartner.com/newsroom/id/2482816 And this line speciffically: “Apple is faced with the challenge of being increasingly dependent on the replacement market as its addressable market is capped. The next two quarters will also be challenging, as there are no new products are expected to be coming before the third quarter of 2013,” said Mr. Gupta. So then I reviewed: http://9to5mac.com/2013/05/30/ipad-sales-grew-three-times-faster-than-the-iphone/ Showing, what my thought was, and that ipad overall is pushing its total units being moved higher and higher, out pacing iphone. Adding that all up, tells me Android is killing it in the phone arena, and ipad is killing it in the tablet arena. iphone might have its place still in the market share, and i should of been more specific, the iphone as we know it is dying. They need more variety, more option, or it will eventually die. You either adapt, or you die. Its simple business. I would be shocked if we never see anything more than 1 version of iphone. I think you will start to see iphone models of varying degrees, with large screens, small screens, consumer specs, "geek" specs and all the in betweens (android like variety) When Apple makes that adaptation, and they will, then, I would anticipate iphone to make a move up again.
  13. Care to post your links on that? Then compare ipad vs iphone. Show me where your figures come from.
  14. After all my cherry picked reading, I don't understand how Android has a larger market share, while at the same time having 1/3 the activations. Android didn't start out high and iPhone blew it away, it was most definitely the other way around. 2 years ago I knew people who would leave Android for iPhone. Now, present day, all my iPhone friends are asking me what Android they should buy. The iPhone is dying. It needs a major overhaul to compete. Face it. Apple lives on its ipad now for the mobile user. I myself enjoy my android phone and ipad. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

  16. I couldn't confirm the panels being worked on, but saw several workers hanging off the frames supporting panels today on top of the Sheraton Hotel at Bradley Airport. They were clearly running cable and doing panel work, but I couldn't be sure who the panels belonged too from my distance. Northeast Tower was the contractor (few trucks on the ground) not sure it was Sprint, but vzw and att definitely did their work for LTE and what not. Panels looked to be size of NV from my distance. Who knows. If I get a better look later this week I will know, but maybe we will see it accepted soon. Would be sweet! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  17. I was all over Hartford Friday, then went to the Kid Rock concert at Comcast theater, no LTE anywhere around Hartford. I do think some backhaul has been tied in on the completed sites because my 3g speeds stayed decent, except during one concert intermission. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  18. At 1.5 cents a mb overage, you are insane to not take unlimited unless you are crazy careful with your data. If they capped your total data at 30 that would be cool, but I doubt they will. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  19. What's the overage on the 1GB smart phone data? The 30 per phone for unlimited data makes these plans more costly than my current one with 4 phones. If they forced me off my plan I have now before network speeds were use able, i would be leaving sprint, so hopefully they don't try to do that, since 3 of my 4 contracts are up this year. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  20. I was in Hartford, by the hospital Friday. No LTE from Sprint. Or at least Signal check didn't tell me there was. I was out at Cape Cod earlier in the day, plenty of LTE there, and signal check singing a glorious tune. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  21. July 5, still not a lick of LTE anywhere in Northern Ct market. Kind of surprising honestly. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  22. You had no service in that gray spot? I had plenty of service, always have. Not LTE yet, but strong 3g speeds and signal. Question device settings or device issue. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  23. Why would anyone learn ob C? You learn one proprietary language so you can do 1 thing and 1 thing only. Java means you have a job when apple goes belly up. Don't tell me it's impossible. RIM will remind you it is. Learn java and you can learn android pretty easily. Learn ob C and you better hope the app store stays open until you retire. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  24. Go back a month. Then it'll make sense Sent from my HTC ONE Yea sorry, was trying to reference the complainers point about 4g being locked and claiming they couldn't go to 3g only. Which they could, as you guys pointed out. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  25. The S4 can't go to CDMA only mode? I find that hard to believe.... Anyone with an S4 confirm that? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
