Hearing horrible reports of 19 Fire Fighters lost in Arizona battling the Yarnell Wildfire. As a fire fighter myself, it strikes deep pain into my heart to hear this news. My best wishes to anyone living out that way. Get safe, and get safe fast. http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/story/22726613/2013/06/30/yarnell-hill-wildfire-grows-to-almost-1000-acres

Sprint LTE Coverage Maps via Sensorly
dstar2002 replied to S4GRU's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
Get your car charger, start mapping a trip, drive around aimlessly until you are almost out of gas, refill, repeat. Drive every road you can come across. Map will fill in nicely. -
Welcome aboard! we have a large contingency of CT users. Once you get settled in, you should consider becomming a sponsor and joining our cult like insider discussions. I assure you, you wont be dissapointed. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/

I dont see a pictures....... If you become a sponsor, you can see the list of all sites, and sites that have been completed and to what degree. You should check it out. In a follow up to my tower in East Windsor, its still offline, they have now pushed the date to July 3 at best, and they did offer me a little service credit, which was nice of them. Student, can you pm me the site information for the tower near you? I want to go see if I can locate it and take a few pictures.

Mike, look into the low power gps option that became part of the google services at Google IO this year. It might not be live yet, but should be very shortly, and I think it's in the latest SDK already. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

Competing repeaters in office
dstar2002 replied to Brentm's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
File a complaint with the FCC, tell them the place is using cell phone jammers. Just act dumb. "they installed these antennas in our ceiling and now my cell phone has no service, what if I need to call 911?" Sent from my Galaxy S3 -
With some help from lilotimz I was able to learn successfully who is Sprint on that tower. I have some pics of an East Windsor tower as well. Still no LTE though anywhere around, the EW sites have no work started that I can see anyway. My tower by my house, the one on the water tank, has been offline for nearly a week. There is definitely no work going on. Sprint gave me a network ticket when I called Tuesday (I figured 5 days of not being able to use my phone inside without roaming was enough), and of course, they dont tell me if its NV work, or broken, or whatever. But, they said it would be fixed by today, which, it still isnt unfortunately. You get spoiled living next to a cell tower, until said cell tower breaks, and you are smack dab in the middle of 4 others, eating your battery, fighting for signal.

Ok, did a full tour of East Windsor, northern South Windsor, some of Windsor Locks, southern Enfield. Definitely no LTE in any shape or form, anywhere. Left sensorly and signal check going the whole time, frequently scanning, checking engineering screen. Nada. Did get some pictures of the accepted tower in South Windsor, took some of the tower that hasnt had any work yet on Rt 5 in East Windsor (by Hotcakes). Will check them out, and if they are worth posting, I will. Took them with my canon digital camera and 300mm zoom lens, but its murky out today.

When did sensorly start doing that? I havent mapped in a while in my area, but i have mapped with my S3. Including that very area, and all around it, it was never gray. I am going down near that tower by South Windsor PD now. Going to do a full tour of EW/Broad Brook. Camera in hand. Yea. I know. I am a wack job. But I have been sick for 3 days and need to go outside, and what better a time than in this thunderstorm?

COUNTDOWN!!! Nextel iDEN Shutdown

While this is a great leap for technology, it closes a cell phone chapter that really had a strong foot hold and near cult following. Its a somber celebration for me. The old days of hacking our phones to put ring tones on, the late nights on Howard forums talking nationwide direct connect, so on and so forth. Was anyone here a member of the transiden community? Son of a bitch I had just thrown my tinfoil hat out after the Nsa thing. Making a new one tomorrow. Way to ruin my weekend. Sent from my Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

I learned that the standard permit paperwork from the fire marshals office in East Windsor passed through for at least the western side, which would cover the two towers closest to the highway. I guess most carriers have been passing this paperwork across, but its an indication that at least the 2 western East Windsor towers should be getting attention real soon. The real question is, why does a fire marshal have to sign off on it? Ughhh I hate CT sometimes.

No worries on breaking it or my phone!! Happy I could find it before you upset people that could be upset by it! I work software development, so I know it happens. Really, not a problem at all. Happy you ironed it out! Great work!

Maybe it was just shit luck that your app update sent my phone over the top or something. I went into recovery and fixed permissions and wiped dalvik and now I see to be ok, at least I am not in a reboot loop. Edit...nevermind, I am still screwed. I was able to get logged into the device, but when your app went to launch, device locked, rebooted. I cant even report the issue on google play because it locks and reboots. double edit - i got far enough to manually uninstall the application, and now my phone is fine. no issue at all. If I had to venture a guess where to look, it appeared once the phone got wifi on boot up, it froze. uninstalling your application fixed it, and I had never had this issue until this update installed automatically today.

I dont know what happened, and I cant report the issue, but, as soon as the application updated, it installed, my phone flashed, then rebooted, and now freezes at the point where the app launches on startup. I think I am going to have to reset the thing. You might have something significantly wrong here. I am on a GS3, I am rooted, but rooted stock. Otherwise, no changes/enhancements. I cant even get past my unlock screen before it reboots.

Did you map Tim Tebow? Ughhh. What are we doing. Coach will do something good with him....... Right? Nice to see that 495 corridor becoming 4g solid from the pike to the cape, pretty good coverage now. Sent from my Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
