1. I doubt they wasted time and money on LTE 800 support, since most s4 will be deprecated by the time it's available. Remember, mo guts mo money for the device.

Edit: the fcc doc for sprint version doesn't show 800 LTE. No surprise for me.

Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

2. Tower in Windsor Locks (not Sheraton at Bradley) has had no working data for a week now. Have to get East of the 96 Prospect Hill Rd tower in East Windsor to get any data in Warehouse Point. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
3. Someone mapped the 4g in Meriden at 691 X 91 interchange. Great to see that in Ct Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
4. Not sure what's going on right now in Windsor Locks, East Windsor and Enfield, but signal has been crappy, then great, and same with data. All abnormal. I know the East Granby site was done, but don't see anything for sites in surrounding towns. Anyone know? My phone didn't have working data on 3g at Bradley today until about 1130, and last few days it's been sporadic. Normally it's rock solid and fast. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
5. Fed Ex gives away their 727 ships to Airport Fire Departments for training. Really is a great program, that not only the airport department benefits from, but other area rescue agencies. Police use them as well. I believe fed ex is not phasing out the MD11, but anything bought new is 757+ I know that the Airbus planes are going to the grave yard. Fuel savings alone pays for new planes. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
6. Very cool. I work as a crash/rescue fire fighter at an airport, and am always eager to see stuff like this. Do you happen to know what type of plane it was? 737? Looks low enough to the ground to be a 73. I will keep my eyes open, see if i notice anything like it.
7. I would love to see said picture Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
8. Well, I am sure the blizzard hasn't helped things. I know most access to towers is damn near impossible now. More snow might be coming too. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
9. Where are you seeing this information? On the state website, I didnt see any useful data, quite possibly, looking at the exact wrong link. I havent seen any work going on in East Windsor or Windsor Locks, and havent noticed anything in any of the towns various approval boards. Is it all controlled at the state level? I thought most towns had a role in the process as well. I will say, sporadically my data speeds to go absolute crap in the area. That is a new issue, because for the last 3 years, my 3g speeds in the north of Windsor I91 corridor have been superb. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
10. I remember reading this, but totally forgot about it until I was cleaning up my twitter account today. http://www.governor.ct.gov/malloy/cwp/view.asp?Q=509224&A=4010 Damn you CT and your cell phone tower laws. This only appears to point to new towers though.
11. In East Windsor this last week I saw two multi carrier towers getting work done. One by Eastern Communications which had a car size trailer carrying something up to the Site and the other had Northeast Tower workers up on the tower doing something with panels. One of the towers I was driving and couldn't see much, the other is up a hill on a private road, and you can't see the ground where that equipment would be, only the tower, so I don't know what they were doing, if anything. Google seemed to tell me Eastern Community does Verizon work, so i doubt any of it was sprint unfortunately. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
12. One other thing.....maybe I came across wrong, but I am not mad, nor really vocal at Sprint, to me it seemed like a better business move to have LTE going faster in this area, especially with the amount of "money" people in CT have, and of course the big hot spot casinos. But, I can also see the point that the traveling market might not care as much, the money is in those that live in the region, not the ones passing through it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
13. Interesting, I knew CT was bad, but that bad? Jeeze. So, I guess my next question is, how long has it been this way? Is this a new level of "junk" carriers have to wade in? We were nearly the first to get wimax, I had wimax on my evo less than 2 months after its release. Did they get a big jump on things here or were they just much easier to work with then? So I guess that leads me to the next question, why wouldnt they have started permitting earlier? It seems like the muck of CT causes things to slow down, but when they started in Baltimore, Boston, NYC, the next ones on the list you saw were the major pieces connecting those sectors. I frankly am surprised Providence is so far behind as well. It too had wimax fast, infact, something tells me they might of been first nationwide..... But either way, like I said in my post in the Mass thread, too much "Not in my backyard" syndrome to call this country free anymore. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
14. Seeing Providence sites come into the list now too. Still nothing for the large footprint in CT they are not starting yet? Guess no love for the 860. From a business stand point you would think LTE was a bigger priority in the entire CT, now business travelers will get LTE everywhere except the middle of their trips up and down the east coast. I find it very odd to say the least. Especially on the highway towers, you are literally talking less than 20 total sites in this region to have all the major interstates covered in LTE from Baltimore to Boston (and really New Hampshire and Maine) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
15. Public forum usually leads to a need to publicly ban. I think this guy meant no harm Robert, but people have been getting nastier and nastier. In the end, you are the boss, and you should ban when needed, for the better good. *end rant* My phone defaulted to cdma when I put the leak in before it went live ota too Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
16. Not in my back yard. You shouldn't need these permits to upgrade existing towers. The fcc grants a license, it should be clear to proceed. This is what drives costs up for us all. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
17. So it appears that the rest of New England is starting early third market work. Once it's launched, you will be able to go from Baltimore to Canada and have LTE, except in the northern ct and Rhode Island market. Odd. It's like Northern CT was forgotten about. I guess it's payback for early wimax. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
18. was in Springfield on Thursday around lunch, great LTE, zero actual data movement Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
19. I am within 800 of the water tank tower in EW near exit 45. Its on the hill directly above the old movie theater that closed a few years back. I havent seen anything going on up there, and definitely see no panels. Now, that doesnt mean jack for Enfield, because you can get LTE just over the line in Mass. Robert was said that nothing was going on in our area until at least 2013, and I dont see evidence first hand to say that it may have changed. Would be nice to see LTE light up, but honestly, I would imagine seeing it at Bradley Airport before Enfield saw it....but thats just a hunch Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
20. we actually have decent 3g speeds in this area, i typically get 1 mb down from the tower near my house, and 2mb down from the tower at the airport, but i do miss my wimax since I picked up the S3 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
21. was in springfield today, LTE was fine, got over to west wareham, and the tower still hasnt been flicked on. shows overdue on the maps here still, but I was hoping it got the kick online. was last here at the vacation house 3 weeks ago, thought for sure I would be in business. LTE was pretty strong most of 495 from the pike south Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
22. I am smack between Hartford and Springfield. Confirming, NO LTE. I do have ehprd everywhere basically, but I have no LTE until I get into Springfield. I work at Bradley Airport, and definitely no LTE here. My house is 800 feet from the highest cell tower between the two cities, 500 feet off i91 and no work has been done. I can see the tower out my living room Window, and no one has been on it. (water tank and metal tower based) We got wimax nearly first, so i suspect LTE could be last. Though I am hoping that's wrong, sooner the better! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
23. And people thought Skynet was just a crazy idea in a movie. I'm building a bunker. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
24. Actually, Google navigation does do voice, and does it well. Blinders people. Loose them. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
25. Yea, the oversized but under whelming event held for two weeks annually in West Springfield, that ends up costing me a truck payment each month. lol Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
