  1. Does having a tri-band LTE phone really matter? I'm in silicon valley and was about to get an S4 (since it doesn't look like Sprint is getting a Lumia anytime soon). I don't want to pay (an estimated) $299 for a Note 3 (although I do like the bigger screen) and $199 after rebates seems "reasonable" for the S4. Do I need to worry that my current S4 won't have the updated LTE chip? According to your chart, I can still talk on the phone and use LTE data, correct? I don't plan on using the phone for international travel, perhaps VERY minor (ie. maybe a couple times in the next two years) use out of CA. Will my overall speeds improve with the updated LTE chip? Should I wait for it? I'm not the expert on chipsets and cell spectrum, but if you need a new phone now, then get the S4, but if you can wait until fall to get the S4 tri-band, then wait for it. SMR800 LTE has the advantage of greater in-building penetration for signal vs 1900 PCS G that Sprint is using for the current LTE network. And yes, the S4 does have SVLTE. All LTE phones except the iPhone 5 have SVLTE. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2

  3. I watch that tower like a hawk, plus the one by Akers and the 198, and the one in back of Visalia Hyundai off Ben Maddox near main st. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2

  6. There is no tower on the north side of Caldwell. It's on the south side of the street behind a house. It's easily visible from Costco there. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2

  8. Aren't they all? The new Walmart is in the old Costco building, so the Walmart is near the tower, lol. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  9. If your account has a spending limit like mine, then it's after the spending limit is removed. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  10. The one thing I really want to see customizable is the carrier name and other elements of the status bar. That is first and foremost the biggest thing I want. 2nd is that I want to see Apple approve Sensorly with the capabilities that the android version has so I can contribute to their maps. 11. And in Vegas AlcaLu is only doing it to a small handful of sites. Hopefully they are all dual-mode RRU's and not single mode, but then again, it really wouldn't matter too much for the fact it'll provide the same capacity regardless of what modes. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  12. Before AlcaLu was using 2 RRU's for PCS, one 1x/EVDO and 1 LTE. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  13. I'm so tired of this crazy idea that the iPhone is the 'Jesus Phone'. First, the iPhone is a very selfish phone, hence the 'i' in its name, and Jesus was very anti-selfish! So people using said term are calling Jesus selfish. And second, if Google flops on the Xphone like Moto did on the Photon and the Photon Q, then they are just another stupid company so riddled with corporate greed that they would line their pockets at consumers expense of being dumb enough to buy a phone based on the brand. Of course, this applies to Apple, Samsung, and HTC (who have all released bad products) so ill just stop right there. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  14. Rumor has it from Tim Cook's recent interview that Apple could allow more customization with iOS 7, as long as said customizations don't compromise the security of the phone. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  15. See if you can find out where your central office is. They stop installing DSL at a certain mile radius because the speed starts to drop off dramatically. I check to see if I can what the cutoff is. In pahrump we fiber run thru parts of the valley for AT&T to offer DSL with, but from the nodes to the home it's all copper. From the central office to my house, it's like 10 miles. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  16. Could I get like a Galaxy Victory and use that for my upgrade now device so I wouldn't have to sell back my iPhone. I can make a but load more for it on eBay than Sprint Buyback! Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  17. What the heck is Voom? Never heard of it before. And I didn't know that Dish bought Slingmedia. How sad! Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  18. Signal 2 from Planetbeing is a great app for tower connections and signal levels. It's available in Cydia.
  19. I applaud Apple and Motorola for moving assembly lines back to the US. We need more products built here in the USA. Maybe some other major devices will start being built here too.
  20. Shouldn't this be pinned like the other 2 spotting threads? Thanks to the moderator who pins it. Great job lilotimz! Excellent setup!
  21. Only in California would they require a permit to remove something. Robert Clark County is that way too. They require permits to remove equipment. And I think Vegas is that way too. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  22. That 3 months free, free device and free activation seems like it's going to seal the deal for me. We were worried about power outages in emergencies but with battery backup I think that solves that issue. I really appreciate all the feedback from everyone. EDIT: One last question, do you know how long the 3 months free will last? Wasn't clear on the website when I was looking. I read it only gets 2.5 hours of talk time while on battery power, and up to 30 hours of standby when the power is out. SPC1 had up to 4 on battery. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  23. That's probably a better plan than mine. I was going to let it go dark during unsponsored periods. Robert via Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta Don't do that. In a few days I'll put money in my bank and sponsor a day on the countdown clock. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
  24. I had the original Sprint Phone Connect and had a few times where the voice quality was so-so. If you want fax, there is Internet fax, or Vonage if you have a high speed Internet connection. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
