Information about S4GRU Sponsorship levels and how to become a Sponsor
S4GRU replied to S4GRU's topic in Important Threads
His donation name did not match his account name. Probably a parent or a wife. I hadn't received a response to the email I sent to the PayPal address. I went ahead and upgraded his account. I have sent a welcome message with instructions to the member. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro -
How to Spot Clearwire TDD-LTE / Wimax Antennas & RRUs (Samsung)
S4GRU replied to lilotimz's topic in Equipment Spotting
That's why I wanted to know where it was at. So I could rule out it being a Samsung NV area. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro -

Great question. I've only used NFC once. I was at Walgreens. It said it connected but was unable to connect through to Google Wallet servers. I believed it was a GW problem and not an NFC problem. But I haven't tried it since. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

When Sprint repurposed the USCC spectrum on NV sites, it will not show as roaming. Are you certain that in the 1x section it said Sprint* or was that in the LTE section? I would need to see it with the app open to know for certain and the 1x Engineering screen. You either were 1x roaming, or your phone has a bug in it. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

This could be a reference to going after regionals. If Sprint was able to pick up C-Spire, USCC, nTelos, Carolina West, Swiftel, Commnet and try an aggressive organic build out of major towns and highways, it could really be attractive to many more susbcribers. Going after urban customers right now will be tough. But going after rural and tertiary customers who don't even know Sprint could be a much better way to build subscribers and momentum. Then in two years, with a built out underburdened urban network, Sprint can then even compete with the duopoly. Offer unlimited for the best price around and have a quality network and coverage to back it up. This is Sprint's best plan going forward without merging with Tmo. Sprint shouldn't try to compete head to head with Tmo. They need to go after the big two directly. Competitive pricing, equal to or better network performance and coverage. Tmo can just focus on being the cheap urban provider. Robert

Understood. As long as you know what to expect, then you will probably be able to cope. However, if you pay full retail price and expect it to be equal to other LTE devices, you would sorely be disappointed. Robert

The EVO LTE is an awful device when it comes to RF performance. Especially LTE RF performance. You will always be frustrated with Sprint LTE using it. Robert

Well, I considered him a journalist and not a blogger. I consider you and me bloggers. I guess it's a relevant term and not something that can be clearly defined. And maybe they are not graduations of the same progression but actually overlap. One can be a journalist. One can be a blogger. One can be a blogging journalist. Or even perhaps a journalisting blogger? Robert

There has not been a January update ever announced for the Nexus 5. Only one announced for "Early 2014." Robert

It is pretty common in the North Wisconsin and Houston markets. Some availability in Kansas and Oregon markets. Some recent sightings in Austin. More details and exact locations in the Premier Sponsor thread. Robert via Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Did you know you can subscribe to The Wall and get an S4GRU notification every time a new article posts to The Wall? It's easy to set up! Go to the Main Wall page by following this link: http://s4gru.com/ind...log/1-the-wall/ Don't use The Wall tab to set this up. When the page loads, go to the Follow this Blog button in the upper right corner. After you subscribe, you should get a notification every time a wall article is published. Robert

What are headphones? I only use bluetooth streaming to my car. Otherwise, I don't use headphones at all. I have met one charger that was too big though. Robert

And to piggy back on AJ's point, USCC and AT&T both have devices with more LTE bands than Sprints Triband. Incorporating AWS Band 4 into future Sprint devices is not a big deal at all now with single path transmission being the norm. Robert
