  1. I can see an LTE Airave being useful when VoLTE is instituted. It would likely be required for any chance of a voice call handoff to the macro network. Robert
  2. Never underestimate the depths of the Duopoly's pockets to be limited to just Republicans. Check to see who takes their money. Like all smart corporations, they try to buy them all out. Corporations don't pick political sides. They hedge their bets and cover all bases. Robert
  3. Yes, Sprint's LTE coverage maps are awful. They are not good representatives of LTE coverage. This is true of most providers. Verizon LTE only works in the dark red area of their maps. In my area, AT&T LTE shows as starting in one spot, but actually won't have a strong enough signal until 8-10 miles into the signal shown. And that's even outdoors. And Sprint maps are just not very good to tell exactly where you will get a signal. Only more in the broad sense of where general Sprint has launched service. With all that being said, Sprint Spark service requires an underlying technology called eCSFB. Sprint is currently working on that technology as they have had some issues with it. It sounds like to me if you had LTE yesterday, but don't today, Sprint is probably working on eCSFB. When it is back up and running, your device will then be able to use LTE without any issue. It's also possible that LTE is just out in your area. If your LTE does not come back in the next 24 hours or so, I'd call Sprint and open up a trouble ticket. However, insist on getting the Ticket #. If they don't give you a ticket number, then they probably didn't write one up. Best of luck. Robert
  4. Hankbear has moved up a few spots. We appreciate his generous monthly recurring payments. Robert
  5. And I was only addressing your count of Sprint sites. I never was correcting your Tmo number. Robert
  6. I'm not sure why Neal needs to set us straight how many Sprint sites there are. Which there are roughly 55,000 now with Clearwire counted. Robert

  8. Sell...phones? What does that mean? I've never done such a thing. Why would someone get rid of their phones? They are MiN3!! alL m!Ne!!!!! Yeeaargh!!!! Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  9. It has been financial reasons since the Nextel merger. However, now it is so ingrained that they don't buy rural providers that they just don't really pursue it. It may cause a bidding war with a Duopoly member in many instances. For Sprint to have bought other carriers since the Clear partnership investment would have required taking on expensive debt at horrible terms for companies with little to no payback. Rural providers margins are lean, and to integrate their networks can be expensive and time consuming. And since they were focused on Clearwire WiMax build out and NV build out for so long, they just couldn't even get their heads on straight. If they could have found a way to pick up some key rural providers, it could have been a good thing. But it wasn't very feasible for Sprint all things considered. 11. You need to start counting Sprint's 15,000 additional sites from Clearwire now too. Also, with Swiftel/Shentel, Sprint has right around 40,000 sites. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  12. He writes a very good and easy to understand pro argument in just a few paragraphs. It's a good write up. If CCA members want to stay independent wireless carriers, then their only way to really survive long term in the current environment is to build a coalition with Sprint and/or Tmo. And a combined Sprint/Tmo would be better for them to build with. The device ecosystem mass of scale alone would be tremendous. So I can see how a CCA member could be pro merger without angling to get purchased. However, he very well may want that outcome. Nothing tips his motives either way at the point. 13. Broward County is clear, but cannot proceed fully with 800MHz until after Miami-Dade is clear too. Because radio signals don't stop at the county line, unfortunately. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  14. Yes. But of sounds like the FCC is starting to get weary. If they end up granting this extension, it will likely be the last time. No one really had been calling Miami-Dade out in the previous extensions. Now Sprint was pretty tough on them. And the FCC is being pretty tough themselves. The FCC referenced they are the last hold out in the country. It's possible they may allow CDMA 800 to go forth if it's channel placement is in a less interfering location, or if Miami-Dade is able to turn off their channels near Sprint's CDMA 800 channel. But the LTE 800 channel is far too wide. But right now the onus is on Miami-Dade per that last document. So they may not get their extension. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro

  18. At the end of the doc it says it has rejected Miami-Dade's request until it can prove that they must take that long and they are applying the appropriate resources to the problem. Robert via Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  19. 800MHz is being fired up right now in Dade County. Had a whole bunch of CDMA 800 acceptances over the weekend. Robert via Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

  21. Adding B25 to all the sites and overlaying B26 will provide a good experience throughout the ABQ metro that will bring advertised speeds or better. Sprint lost so many customers in NM, B25/B26 will perform decently when coverage is more uniform. B41 will just be gravy on top! Robert
  22. It's actually above! I can't wait to have that experience on AT&T in my neck of the woods. So close I can taste it! Robert
  23. Verizon roaming priority varies by Region. It is the lowest priority in most regions for Sprint. You may have been in one of the ones where it wasn't the lowest, but now it is, like most of the rest of the country. Robert
  24. You cannot use eHRPD when in CDMA only mode. eHRPD is the EVDO that runs through the LTE core. You essentially shut down all things LTE when you go into CDMA only mode, including eHRPD. eHRPD and EVDO are exactly the same thing. It's one and the same signal, just the network side traffic routing and processing is different. Robert
