Sponsors Forum via Tapatalk?

I have the same problem with Tapatalk. I haven't found a work around. I don't have the same problem in ForumRunner, though. Is everyone who uses Tapatalk locked out of the Sponsors areas?

If i go under the forums tab it will prompt me for password aswell. If I am under "Latest" it will open up the thread.

Same thing happens to me.

Got it...click on forums tab-> then click by "name" instead of the default "category" and scroll to the sponsors forum name...opened up fine.

The premier and contributing author ask for pass still though that's expected for me as I'm neither of those. Regular worked fine with the slight work around.

Ok, The above is true, but if you view the top level forum of the Sponsor section (The S4GRU Club) in the categories listing of the Forum tab, like so...

Tapatalk01.png

Then click and hold on "The S4GRU Club" selection until the pop up comes up.

Tapatalk02.png

Select Subscribe.

Tapatalk03.png

The section now has a star at the lower right of it.

Tapatalk04.png

If you click on the Favorites tab, you will now see The S4GRU listing.

Tapatalk05.png

If you click on that, all the hidden sections of the Sponsors area is now listed.

Tapatalk06.png

So if you click on any one of them, the threads show up.

Except (you knew that was coming), the S4GRU Contributing Authors Forum. When clicking on that to see the threads, I do get the Protected Forum message.

Tapatalk07.png

So either that is the culprit of our woes, or even I as a moderator cannot access that section. :(

Of course all of this is only a temporary solution to viewing the sponsor forum, and Tapatalk may need to investigate the issue and push out a fix. At least this way, one has a faster access to that section by using your Favorites.

I have reported the issue to Tapatalk. Also, Moderators are supposed to have access to the Writers section. I just verified the settings. Perhaps another issue?

  • 2 weeks later...

Tapatalk was upgraded to their new 2.0, but I don't know if it fixed it. The new version is absolutely horrible looking. The dark scheme looks like halloween colors. And the biggest thing of all, anytime you hit the home key to switch to another app to do something else and you switch back to Tapatalk it restarts Tapatalk so you have to go find your threads again! Arghh.... so glad I had a copy of the previous version in Titatnium Backup. I quickly restored that app back to its working order.

It's unfortunate that a developer takes such a great app and kills it. Forum Runner isn't any better :(

Tapatalk told me that it was going to be resolved in 2.0. It did not resolve. I wrote them an e-mail. They basically said unless I dump Forum Runner, then they will not be able to give us that level of support. I hate ultimatums. If I didn't have so many members that prefer Tapatalk, I would have removed them right then. That was a ridiculous answer. I'm sorry.

What does dumping forum runner have to do with it I wonder. btw I didn't even know about the Forum Runner app.

Therefore, Paid, Downloaded and now using instead of Tapatalk.

Able to get into the Sponsors sections without any issues or password request.

They offer upgraded support for customers who will sign an exclusivity agreement with them. Which means dumping Forum Runner. I like being able to offer both apps for our members. And I personally prefer Forum Runner. In fact, I am using it right now. But I know many of our members prefer Tapatalk. So I want to be able to offer both.

Many sites use one or the other because of this reason.

    • In the conference call they had two question on additional spectrum. One was the 800 spectrum. They are not certain what will happen, thus have not really put it into their plans either way (sale or no sale). The do have a reserve level. It is seen as great for new technologies which I presume is IOT or 5g slices.  They did not bite on use of their c-band or DOD.  mmWave rapidly approaching deadlines not mentioned at all. FWA brushes on this as it deals with underutilized spectrum on a sector by sector basis.  They are willing to take more money to allow FWA to be mobile (think RV or camping). Unsure if this represents a higher priority, for example, RVs in Walmart parking lots where mobile needs all the capacity. In terms of FWA capacity, their offload strategy is fiber through joint ventures where T-Mobile does the marketing, sales, and customer support while the fiber company does the network planning and installation.  50%-50% financial split not being consolidated into their books. I think discussion of other spectrum would have diluted the fiber joint venture discussion. They do have a fund which one use is to purchase new spectrum. Sale of the 800Mhz would go into this. It should be noted that they continue to buy 2.5Ghz spectrum from schools etc to replace leases. They will have a conference this fall  to update their overall strategies. Other notes from the call are 75% of the phones on the network are 5g. About 85% of their sites have n41, n25, and n71. 93% of traffic is on midband.  SA is also adding to their performance advantage, which they figure is still ahead of other carriers by two years. It took two weeks to put the auction 108 spectrum to use at their existing sites. Mention was also made that their site spacing was designed for midrange thus no gaps in n41 coverage, while competitors was designed for lowband thus toggles back and forth for n77.
    • The manual network selection sounds like it isn't always scanning NR, hence Dish not showing up. Your easiest way to force Dish is going to be forcing the phone into NR-only mode (*#*#4636#*#* menu?), since rainbow sims don't support SA on T-Mobile.
    • "The company’s unique multi-layer approach to 5G, with dedicated standalone 5G deployed nationwide across 600MHz, 1.9GHz, and 2.5GHz delivers customers a consistently strong experience, with 85% of 5G traffic on sites with all three spectrum bands deployed." Meanwhile they are very close to a construction deadline in June for 850Mhz of mmWave in most of Ohio iirc. No reported sightings.
    • T-Mobile Delivers Industry-Leading Customer, Service Revenue and Profitability Growth in Q1 2024, and Raises 2024 Guidance https://www.t-mobile.com/news/business/t-mobile-q1-2024-earnings — — — — — I find it funny that when they talk about their spectrum layers they're saying n71, n25, and n41. They're completely avoiding talking about mmWave.
    • Was true in my market. Likely means a higher percentage of 5g phones in your market.
