Thanks to the selflessness of one of our members I now have a new shiny HTC ONE to play with! I am speechless! Its only a loaner but this is amazing!

Last night I had the Mifi at Urban Chestnut for an event and was pulling crazy good Band 41 LTE. I was feeling cocky, so I challenged friends with a Verizon phone & AT&T phone to a speedtest.

I live in edwardsville...& could this be the reason why I've been getting bad reception in the Madison county area because of the upgrades?

The Site that was accepted is in North East Madison County. I doubt that would affect your reception. Now if you live near the American Legion in Edwardsville, that could be your problem because a site near there is in progress.

That matches what I got but wanted to make sure because this is the only other 4G I've personally seen besides Arnold. I do like hearing progress in Fenton too

We have officially reached 101 accepted sites...668 to go.

Sorry the first number should be 54/769 and 100 sites.

Can you dig up any news on Jackson MO?  Bounced in and out of roam all day yesterday and a very weak signal this morning.

 

 

I've got nothing but the progress that you told me about. Have you notice any more work?

The site we were having issues with this week was recently accepted for 3G. YAY!

We have 3 4G accepted sites in St. Louis County that do not have confirmed LTE. PM me for deets if you want to go tower searching.

 

My daily driver is down for repairs so I'm driving my gas guzzler...I won't be joyriding around town looking at towers for a few days but if anything is near my trip to work, let me know and I'll check it out.  I take 141 to 44 to 270 to Olive.

I was near there last weekend I think it was.  A couple cops had someone pulled over there on Hawkins so I couldn't get by.  I haven't been back by there since then though.

I'll ask my fiance to pull up the serving cell's ID since she's just north of that and gets 4G.

That was not one of the accepted sites but work should be completed soon.

Ok that makes sense.  She told me she doesn't get 4G in her basement, only upstairs.  If that tower was live, she should be getting a signal in her basement too.

Nothing to report down 255 to 270 to 44 to six flags...except for the site we already know about. Service was still horrid at SF. No data at times, roaming at times. That needs to be addressed asap.

Don't hold your breathe. Have many areas like this myself. Maybe they will address in next round of upgrades after NV is complete. But then again they lie on their LTE coverage maps like a big dog which may hurt their ability to address these areas actually lacking LTE coverage.

The cabinets and panels look to be done. There is fiber to the base of the site but outside the fence. I couldn't see any evidence of them running it to the cabinets. Also there are 3 RRU's per panel at this site.

      Kind of amazing that T-Mobile is still holding onto that speed title despite Verizon all but killing off lowband 5G on their network. While Verizon is mostly being evaluated on mmWave and C-band performance, T-Mobile and AT&T's average 5G speeds include their massive lowband 5G networks that are significantly slower.

      Yup. Very true. We were originally on an Everything Data 1500 Plan, which got Unlimited Minutes thanks to Marcelo's "Loyalty Benefits" offer. We then switched to Unlimited Freedom (with the Free HD add-on that Sprint originally wanted $20/month per line for.... remember that?) because the pricing was better with "iPhone for Life", vs. the "Loyalty Credit" for staying on a Legacy Plan. After that, I ran the numbers and switched us over to Sprint MAX, especially for the international travel benefits. There's absolutely no reason for us to switch to Go5G Plus or Go5G Next if we're going to do BYOD by purchasing from Apple/Samsung/Google directly as we've been doing. These new plans aren't priced for current customers to switch to. They're priced for new customers, where they throw in a free line, etc. It's gone from "Uncarrier" to "Carrier". What a shame.

      Strange business model that they keep around all these pricing plans. 1000s of plans per carrier is reportedly not uncommon.  Training customer support must be a nightmare. Even MVNOs have legacy plans. A downside of their contract mentality I guess. Best to change contracts during a recession. But then all carriers try to squeeze out legacy plan benefits as they grow old.

      Everything "Uncarrier" is becoming "Carrier" again. Because of the Credit Limit that T-Mobile put on our account for no reason at all (and wouldn't change/update the last time I checked all the way up to the CEO), I don't plan on buying/upgrading our iPhones through T-Mobile. I'm going through Apple directly. Looks like I'll be going through Google and Samsung directly for our other lines for upgrades. Also, we're staying on Sprint Max given the ridiculous pricing for Go5G Plus. On Sprint Max, we currently pay for our Plan: $260 for 7 Voice Lines $25 for two Wearable Lines. (One is $10/Month. The other is $15/Month because the AutoPay discount only applies up to 8 lines.) Total: $285/Month vs. Go5G Plus (Per the Broadband Facts "nutrition label" on the T-Mobile Website): https://www.t-mobile.com/commerce/cell-phone-plans $360 - ($5 AutoPay Discount x 7 Voice Lines) = $325 The Watch Plans show as either $12/Month or $15/Month: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/affordable-data-plans/smartwatches So this is about the same for the wearables as what we're paying now. Overall, it's quite more than we're paying now to switch plans. Ridiculous....
