tommym65
Yep, the WiMAX network is still alive and kicking for a little while longer. But it will join the iDEN network soon. AJ Is it time to roll out the WiMAX "Countdown Clock"? This will be so-o-o exciting!
bbspot
I'm really surprised at how much band 41 has slowed down in LA over the past 6-8 months. I used to get speeds of 40 mpbs plus. Now I get 10-15. What does Sprint need to do to deploy additional band 41 carriers, and what is their rational for rolling out additional band 41 carriers over time instead of just getting it out there? It takes a long time for the FIT to finish. Dunno why. I really wish they would just add the max carriers all at once.

Because you need to get the parameters correct and ensure that the equipment can support the spectrum. One does not just do something as significant as add multiple lte carriers without testing the equipment to make sure the settings they apply does not destabilize the hardware. Sprint does not and will not open the additional band 41 carriers until every vendor is complete.
lilotimz
WiMAX still occupies much spectrum. Plus, Clearwire equipment may not support greater than one WiMAX carrier and one LTE carrier. I am unsure on the latter. AJ It's 1+1 in dual mode. In single mode they can run two lte carriers.

Fraydog
WiMAX will be riding off into the sunset. Including the part where the letters knock the guy off the horse? [emoji12]
Deval
The guy on the horse symbolizes all the clowns who parade and troll forums with their drivel on 4G promises.
