Beta update. My battery life seems to be about the same for my usage compared to 8.1.3. LTE doesn't seem to be better or worse besides that one speed test but other variables may have effected that.

I do like the new emoji keyboard though. Seems a lot more fluid for finding what I want and it's a bigger list for my frequently used emojis.

I don't like it at all. It looks cluttered and sloppy.

What do you guys think of this ?

Admittedly it is a little crowded but I don't have to scroll through a couple pages for my emoji I want. 98% of the time they're all right there. Saves me critical seconds on my text messages!

.

Make sense understandable

I'm kind of considering going back to 8.1.3. Not like it will matter toooooo much but at least my keyboard will be fast again.

Edit. Well this sucks. Thought I backed everything up so I could just restore when need be but everything has switched over to 8.3 so I gotta start fresh. All my game data should come back once I redownload the app from the App Store right?

No lol. Not unless they have their own cloud servers connected to iCloud. Why didn't you just use a different keyboard til beta 2 came around.

This is a tour de force of an article about Apple. The level these people obsess over design is unparalleled.

Is there a tl;dr version? I got through the first few paragraphs but it felt like reading a bad novel.

Design design design. That would be my tl:dr.

John Gruber had a good tl;dr as well. I would recommend getting through the first thousand or so words then the whole thing sort of accelerates through after that.

Anyone seeing anymore info as to when the IPhone 6 will get wifi calling?. I remember reading something about a Sprint exec saying within 60-90 days but that was late last year.

I actually just logged in to see if anyone knows the answer to this question myself. We're now getting very choppy reception at our house (no 800 in San Diego) and my wife is complaining. We have an Airvana but the iphones connect only sporadically. I'm guessing that some optimization is going on and so far we're on the losing end of it so WiFi calling may our best solution.

Turn off lte in celluar settings and you will stay connected to the airave 90% of the time. Probably more

Thanks- my wife said that worked so far.

I figured this out quickly when I got my 5s. My area is really bad with service, and this does it almost all the time.

Until wifi calling works, this will do it for me. But I am moving to a better service area in less than 2 weeks

Worst part about restoring back to original settings and starting all over is having to tap each individual song in my music app to download all 754 songs again.... Maybe a fresh install of 8.1.3 will help my battery life get back to where it needs to be now.

When i got my friend to port from Straight Talk to AT&T and then a few days later to Sprint, I restored her iPhone 3GS backup to my iPhone 5, and the same thing happened. As soon as I realized what was wrong, and got rid of the straight talk data profile, her phone worked great.

Just in case this ever happens to me. How do you delete these profiles?

Do you know where you found it? I'm sure this will happen to me sooner or later and I would love to know. :tu:

I'll look it up today and get back to you.

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
